  2. Im looking at them now, they are either a grn pumpkin or brown with blue and blue flakes
  3. that is a KILLER color on baby brush hogs
  4. Now i dont know about in Illinois, but down in s.e. Texas, I personally throw a xcalibur xr75 in Rayburn Red color from Dec-May. Then i use the xr50 in foxy shad. anytime they are targeting crawfish in the spring I am throwing red of some type. in summer im throwing shad patterns.
  5. they had my huddlestons in stock ;D and delivered them fast
  6. Is there any proof that fish cant be ? i believe he could possibly catch the same fish.
  7. Many a years ago when it was just a wal-mart ours had a huge selection. one whole isle of nothing but zoom. one or two other isles where the other things and then the saltwater isles. but since it became the supercenter, the selection went down the crapper :'(.now there is about 20 bags of zoom brushogs, lizards, and worms and all pretty much the same color.not so good cranks and other stuff i would never throw. BUT a while back they were running x raps for $3. i bought pretty much all of those.Luckily i have an academy next door and a gander mtn about 10 mins away
  8. I think they are too pricey but maybe i need to quit being cheap. i have had my eye on one of these. does anyone fish the wakebaits? if so please let me know if they are worth the money.
  9. When i saltwater fish i ususally go at night and fish with lights to attract shad and then the specks and reds follow.99% of the timeI use glow baits. now, tonight i am going night fishing for bass. no lights but i have a small blacklight and i have some cabelas aquaglow glowsticks and creatures. which are great baits by the way. im wondering will a bass see a glowing bait better than say a 12" black worm(which i am also throwing). Will the glow even matter?
  10. That spot looks pretty d@#$ cool. i wish i had one that looks that good.
  11. I honestley am going through the same exact thing as you . sunny all week. and the weekend i get to go fishing. fri mostly cloudy 30%,sat scattered t storms 40%,and sun isolated t storms 40%. but my temps will still be in the low to mid 80's. and yes im still going
  12. For me, nothing is better than a topwater bite. or topwater explosion i should say.
  13. About the reel, you just need to take time and adjust the brakes. i start off with them too tight and throw hard, and loosen a little after every cast until i get it where i want it. but if its a fight you want get an ultra light with 4lb line and throw a roadrunner or beetlespin. one of my biggest was on that setup. 6lb bass on 4lb line. that was a rush.
  14. I would not know. to many people myself included catch to many fish on Rapala,Bandit, and Bomber for me to spend a bunch of money on a single bait. Maybe if it could be proven that they just flat out outfish the others i would buy, but until then, nooooooo!! but i CANT knock anyone who does buy them. to each his own.
  15. I dont know what you mean by light. i have a cheapo daiwa megaforce that throws a weightless 5" senko like a dream. and with a slight adjustment it will throw a small h&h or roadrunner just as good. 12lb suffix seige. ;D
  16. the only 2 hardbaits i refuse to use a split ring on is a torpedo and a devils horse. everything else has one.
  17. MM2 01-06 Norfolk,VA And i like to flip craws and brush hogs. i use 3/8oz parasite weights.
  18. where im from people do it all of the time.
  19. When i was taught how to use a depth finder, i was told that it detects air. like a fishes air bladder. have i been wrong all of this time. i was just told something different on another thread.
  20. You can 't detect fish with a radar. Then what are all of the archs on my lowrance. Suspended air pockets in 15' of water? :-?
  21. I am all about slower in most situations. for example: how many times has your child, girlfriend, wife, or even yourself, thrown a senko and got a bird nest? and the whole time your fooling with it, a fish will pick up the bait and run. its because the bait was barely twitching from rod movement or the boat moving. just my opinion. maybe im wrong, but ive seen it enough to make me a believer.
  22. good answer
  23. What ever happened to Jay Yelas? Does he still tourney fish?
