For 6" lizards ZOOM is the only way to go MOSSY PUMPKIN . For 8" lizards Big Bite Baits kreit tail lizards at academy. watermelon red. for the big boys Strike King Iguana 10" junebug or grn pumpkin. Also gene larew Biffle o lizards rock 2.

Am I the only one who still uses these? i learned how to creek fish using a Red Fin when i was a youngster and i still fish them. The Devils Horse is still one of my top producers. just wondering if anyone out there still uses these or any other old baits. I also still use a Lucky 13 and creme scoundrel

Sounds like the reel has a slight bind to it (older un serviced reel). That doesn't sound like butter smooth to me...Butter smooth is when you crank the reel and it feels like you can't crank fast enough to keep up with it. Tight Lines!!! its about 2 months old hes used it maybe 1 other time. brand new

to be honest im ready before the day even comes. days in advance. but if i sat down the day of fishing it would take a while to get the boat ready,tie everything on my rods, and get set up.

It was cool, not cool enough to keep me from my revos and daiwas. but cool.

I am not a Shimano guy, but my dad has a Cardiff and it feels cool. i threw it a few times this weekend and the way it felt when i was reeling felt like when you have something huge on your line and your reeling, but nothings coming in. like when you dont have your drag set at all. it felt so cool though. was it just that smooth? are all shimano reels like that?

I f you ABSOLUTLEY cant afford a x rap, get a rogue or thunderstick. but rogues are good. i have caught TONS of fish on a rogue. But if you have an academy around like basswrangler said you should try their jerkshad.

Fishing an X rap this weekend. caught a lil o dink, got it to the boat. when i pulled it out of the water it threw the bait from it mouth ,flipped and hooked itself in the gut and tail. now i dont know tourney rules, would i have been able to weigh this fish? since by the time it was in the boat it wasnt mouth hooked. Better yet, what if it was the world record? could i count that catch in this situation? just wondering.

Let me just say, i love my parasite weights. my parasites and a paca craw or big bite yo momma really outfished the jig this weekend. caught more and was way more weedless. did the same exact job as the jig, but better IMO. i would really recommend some.

I took a trip with my father this past weekend and it was not as good as either of us planned. let me just say when we first started to go to this lake we had to get a rake and rake the grass away just so my kids could swim. good healthy thick grass. back in late feb early march they had to drain the lake to do repairs to the dam. it was not completley drained dry but enough to screw up my favorite parts. oh and thats pretty much spawn and pre spawn time around here. all of the grass that wasnt in the deepest part of that lake (about 17') was dead. :'( there is nothing to draw fish from the deeper water back to other sections of the lake. we caught a few cruising fish here and there, but nothing to brag about. we couldnt really fish those deeper parts too long because of all of the jet skiers and wake boarders. the fish were there stacked up like pancakes in the deep stuff we could only fish for about an hour before the rec skiers came out and ruined it for us. oh well it was still fun and always great to fish with my dad. i just wish we could have gotten on a few more bass. i blame the grass, or lack there of.

the finishes are great, i have used very few though. the lipless cranks look like a spro the only thing is they do not have a very loud rattle. the jerks are good too, but they dont really suspend they float(at least mine do). i have never used any of the others though. i have a deep diver and do not use it.im sure they catch, but i havent caught on them yet.

Now RW im not trying to offend you but.I must have picked the perfect ones EVERY time i have purchased a rogue. i have NEVER had one "go bad", had a problem with suspending or had one that was bad out of the box. Casting distance can be taken care of with a small twist of a brake .I think smithwick is a good brand. i also fish the devils horse no problems with those either. of course there is no incentive to change the lure. THEY CATCH FISH. And they have been for years. why change what works. if you want to down talk a PROVEN fish catching bait so you can justify yourself for paying too much for a jerkbait thats your business. But im not buying it.

Where did you learn that?

I use those "cheap" lures. and basically i use 4 colors. on a rogue i use Clown. on Xrap i use Hot Steel and Black/Gold and on thundersticks i use a regular ol shad pattern. And yes i do believe I "save money" by using those brands. IMHO a x rap will catch just as many as a LC. Because rogues dont cost $20 does that mean they are cheap junk? Because it was to my knowledge that they are PROVEN tourney winners. :-? I would be willing to bet if you put just as much time in on a rogue or x rap they would produce the same as your $15-$20 LC's.

And im not saying anything bad here, but are you sure alabama craw isnt the color?

Never heard of them either. i did that the other day i saw some strike king shimmy sticks. a senko knock off, but i have never seen or heard about them.i was surprised by that.
