I wonder if they are still owned by the Jebulees (not sure if I spelt that correctly) family. My father grew up with them and they were like a second home to him. Your are right, the food there is great.

Welcome from Loganville, GA. I am also from your area of Alabama. I used to live in Pell City (miss that Logan Martin fishing). You will enjoy it here. This is the best place on the net for bass anglers and the people here are great!

Well, if you are going to be at the Expo on Saturday, I hope to see you there. I plan on taking a few kids there with me this weekend. I think they are going to have a great time there. I know I will.

I am a lone wolfe also, but I am trying to change that. My grandfather introduced me to fishing when I was about 4 years old. My father could care less about fishing. Now I have 2 daughters. The youngest one (10 years old) loves to fish so I am teaching her all I can about it and taking her as often as I can. She has actually outfished me the last couple of times we went out together. I am proud of her.

That rod must have been a dud. I love my carbonlite. It feels awesome. Light weight, ultra sensitive and plenty of backbone. I like it better than my St Croix rods. It is actually my favorite rod right now out of all my rods.

If I am correct that eye should not move when you are casting. If it did, that would mean that something is still connected with the spool and that would not allow the line to come off freely. The only time that eye should move is when the gears are engaged and turning. When the line is released only the spool should be moving with the smallest amout of friction possible with the rest of the reel. I am pretty sure your reel is fine.
