  1. I live in Pa and mid May is when I hit the lake for bass fishing. You could never go wrong with wacky rigged senkos or Texas rigged worms or tubes. Also I get decent hits on the flat lip less crank baits.
  2. Definitely Mike Iaconelli. I'm a PA boy, He's a Jersey boy, and our personalities and fishing styles are very similar.
  3. Mine for this year was actually targeting bass (and not just any fish in the lake) and catching them. Learning a lot about bass fishing, and I didn't get skunked one time last year
  4. I would ask why he reinforced the front. you should also check for leaks. It needs a paint job, but that's not too hard.
  5. that's a great Idea. I trout fish in April/ May, so I already have two pairs of hip waders.
  6. I bought a 14 foot Jon boat last summer,I don't have a trailer yet, and probably won't anytime soon and so far have only fished in my home lake. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas how to unload it out of my pickup truck ( by myself) at a boat launch without damaging the bottom of the boat or looking like an idiot. The only thing I could think of is get the boat halfway out then using a furniture dolly to roll it into the water. Any Ideas???? Thanks.
  7. well, if you know any little people who like to fish........ ;D
  8. I usually use my spinning reel and have been using fluorocarbon.I know mono is o.k. and it stretches a little in the water. I was just wondering what you guys use and its advantages/disadvantages
  9. They aren't bad considering the lake was drained for four years and there was only a 50 yard by 300yard puddle that was left. It just got refilled last July
  10. one was 2, the other 3 1/2 lbs. Caught at Gouldsboro
  11. I've always fished cranks, and hard baits and wondered why I didn't catch a lot. Well thanks to this site and the forums, I started using wacky rigged senkos, and I'm killing on the lake. I just have to get some o rings so I don't burn through a bag of them in 3 hours!!!!!!!
  12. I've always enjoyed fishing (been doing it since I was a kid). I had never caught a bass before and a month ago I got my first one. Now I spend as much time on the water as possible, looking to catch a bigger fish. It's really addicting. I don't hunt, but I play guitar, drums, and bass guitar/ and I play gigs on weekends for extra Fishing gear cash!!!
  13. The were the two I caught yesterday on a wacky rigged senko. First time I used them and They are now my go to bait. Heading ou tomorrow, I hope my luck is good again!!!
  14. So I've been out fishing about 9 times, and I've only caught 1 bass. I've mostly fished lip less cranks and jointed minnows and all I catch are perch and pickerels. The lake is 250 acres, the water is still cold (in northeast Pennsylvania), but the water is clear , you could see bottom at about 3 feet , and I believe the fish are still spawning. I don't have any electronics I fish out of a rowboat. Any tips or hints will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
  15. The lake I usually fish is 250 acres, with lots of shallow water, but it's choppy water a lot. Also doesn't building a deck on a john boat make it more dangerous (unstable)?
  16. So I want to buy an aluminum boat. They're cheaper, and more durable around rocky areas, and It will be my first boat. I was just wondering what would you recommend, a Jon boat or a v hull. Thanks
  17. Welcome from a Northeast Pa guy
  18. So I went fishing today for about 3 hours. I was using a lip less crank, and a jointed minnow. I caught 3 perch, and 5 chain pickerels. It's so aggravating just wanting to catch bass, and it doesn't happen. oh well. I'll try tomorrow. Any tips from anyone? :'(
  19. Go fishing!! use whatever lures or bait you like and can transport. Also be careful riding your bike with your rod. When I was a kid, I was biking to a fishing spot and wasn't paying attention to my rod and it went in the spokes and snapped. good luck
  20. I would like to add a few floating worms or other floating plastics to my tackle box. I was wondering which manufacturers make them, and possibly the type and name of plastics ( worms , lizards, etc) Thanks a lot for any help
  21. A pike has white "spots". the name chain pickerel I believe came from its markings on its sides; The black lines look like a chain
  22. So I'm going fishing tomorrow, and I was just wondering what everyone thinks is a good plastic besides worms. And how you rig and fish them. I have a ton of worms, and i usually Texas rig 'em.So anything other tan that will help. Thanks.
  23. here in Northeast Pennsylvania I've been doing pretty good on lip less cranks. Also Ive been using the rapala jointed minnow (black and gold), the are killing that
  24. I caught my limit (5 fish a day) 4 times this year using this rig. First use 4 or 6 lb line. i would tie on a small hook, and put one meal worm on the hook. Also I would put a small bobber about 12-16 inches up from the hook. The best way to to fish this setup is to setup downstream of where you want to fish. Cast upstream , let the creek take your line downstream, and make sure you reel the slack as it gets closer.
