using spray on scent
I know a lot of people use spray on scent. Just wondering what you favorite brand/ scent is. I'm kind of leaning towards Gulp! Alive, but don't know which scent to get.

Jig trailers
I know a lot of people use a jig & pig, What do you like to use as a jig trailer, and do you try to match the color of your jig to the color of your trailer?

Got my first jig bite, lost the fish...
A lot of good tips have already been suggested, and I agree. My tip would be to throw at least 3 more casts in the same spot. if it's big enough cover, there could be more bass in there.

Please! Bottled drinks only!
Another disgusting thing is ice dispensers (like at a fast food place, restaurant, or hotel) . I saw a report, and the water lines on these things are gross. there was bacteria, and mold growing in the tubes. I never get ice in drinks when I'm out.

Shaving
I shave my head and face, I shave in the shower after I'm all clean. Use pre-shave oil to soften your whiskers, apply shaving cream, and use a fusion, or something with at least 4 blades. I tried the electrics, and if the blades are dull, and your whiskers are long, it pulls them out. OUCH!!!! from experience

Thinking about going to Clearwater, FL for vacation in April
Clearwater is amazing. The beaches south of Clearwater are beautiful, and Tampa is nice too. Definitely go there. I had a great spring break there 9 years ago

what to do with old unused fishing line?
I like the idea of backing my spool, One question though. Say your spool holds 200 yards of line, how many yards of backing should you put on before the fresh line? oh and what knot do you use to join them?

Cabin fever
I'm going crazy, I need to fish. Tonight I'm emptying my tackle boxes and cleaning them. Tomorrow, I'll make a list of what I need, and check hooks on lures and stuff like that.

"Natural" colored worms
Primarily I use black, dark green, and brown plastics on the Lake I fish. I get good results with those colors.

what determines if a body of water is "clear" water
The primary lake I fish is 8 feet at the deepest points, and usually can see my lure at about 2-3 feet deep ( straight off the side of the boat ). Is this considered clear or stained water. Just wondering, for lure color choice.

"Natural" colored worms
I've heard a lot of pros use the "natural" color worms. Anyone have any luck with them, or should I stick with my usual colors?

Square Billed Crankbaits
the reason for the square bill, is to make the lure more snag proof (according to lure companies) . I have a couple brands that I like to crash through structure, and i noticed the brand doesn't matter. If it's gunna get stuck, it's gunna get stuck. No way around it.

Fake Christmas trees for brush piles
i wouldn't dump a fake tree in the water. You don't know what it's made of, and as a fisherman, it's ethically right to treat the water your on with respect. Like if I get a birds-nest in my line, I strip it, cut it off, then keep it in my boat until I can put it in the garbage. My advice is to keep the water clean, and let nature take care of the structure

put your thinkin caps on
I personally would try a jig with a lizard or grub trailer. cast it and let it hit bottom, then use vertical rod movements to raise the jig, and crash it back to the bottom. If they aren't biting, I'd try to trigger a reaction bite, not a hunger bite.

what to do with old unused fishing line?
Like every angler, I change my line a couple times a year. I have about 10 spools (not full) of line that are a year to two years old, and i don't want to put them on my reels. Does anyone have any uses for old fishing line? I know the whole planet is trying to be "green".

where can I find different knots online?

2 rods...1 spinning, 1 baitcaster what line would you use
I usually rig my bait-caster with fluorocarbon, because I fish mostly plastics with it. My spinning reel I put mono-filament on, and primarily use crank-baits with it. Anyone have advice on if I should change my types of line or should I flip- flop my reels for what I use them for

Unusual places you'd love to fish
it's not an off limits place, but one of my dreams is to fish in South America for peacock bass

just starting
I started bass fishing last May. What I did was read a lot (just to learn techniques and strategies). When I hit the water, I'll spend half the day with a technique ( texas rigging, using crainkbaits, or whatever) I'm not so comfortable with, and develop my skills with those baits. Then the rest of the day I'll use techniques I previously learned, and that I'm comfortable with. I live in Pennsylvania, so I usually bass fish from mid May to September, which leaves a lot of non fishing time to learn whatever I could. good luck, and remember it takes practice to get good at something.

Interesting Article on Bass Repellents
Cool article. It's something I never thought of. I don't wear sunscreen, but I do use bug spray. Next time I'm out, I'll see how the fishing goes after applying bug spray. What about if I stop applying it at my forearms? will that make a difference, if I don't get it on my hands?
