  1. I guess it could work, but 55 wouldn't dig in as much. I never go under 40, and even that is rare.
  2. I got it around my neck two summers ago. Literally looked like it was trying to strangle me. Calamine BLOWS. My neck was cracking and I couldn't turn my head!
  3. I don't have confidence in a jig or plastic without it!
  4. I think the Cumara rods are often overlooked by many anglers. I have the 7'2 MH/F and it's a perfect plastics and light jig rod. I would say it's top end is probably a 1/2 oz. jig and trailer. Cumara rods are very sensitive. Hookingem and I were dragging jigs over rock piles the other day and it felt like the rocks were being amplified up to my arm. For a while I thought sensitivity was a bit over-rated, until the other day. I really came to appreciate it. I can honestly say I won't buy a sub-$150 rod for bottom presentations now. KY, how do you like the Zillion rods? I've been debating getting one for a while now. I'm thinking about getting the 7' MH for a jig rod, mainly 3/8-1/2 oz. I might message you to get some more details. The only thing I am concerned about is that the handle might be too long, which would (to me) feel like there wasn't enough rod and too long a handle.
  5. I agree, but it is also very fun to throw beetle spins or grubs with a light action rod. In addition to bass, you will get crappie, bluegills, and even catfish!
  6. I take back my first post. Do this! You could also try the Dobyns Savvy rods.
  7. You're an exceptional writer, my friend. Well done, I felt like I was there.
  8. I choked on my Cope Whiskey watching this. LOL.
  9. Once again, you can't fish those ponds. You will get in A LOT of trouble. This one is by my house.
  10. I wouldn't remove it from it's natural environment, it's not our right to just take them out! But I agree, there would always be the non-believers.
  11. You're right, there's no accurate way to know what we would do.
  12. "bound to dispute it." That's what I was thinking, and that's what would make it so funny. If you had a picture of the scale SAYING however much it weighs...people would still fight and argue. You could just sit back knowing the truth.
  13. I'm guessing this is going to be a big ol' can of worms, but what would you do if you caught a state record fish? If I caught a bass that would break the VA state record, I would get a couple pictures and put her back. I have come close to a record 'gill and Redear a few times, and I would probably claim the record for that. Flathead or Blue, I would definitely claim that one, too. Crappie, I would throw it back. Now, if I caught a WORLD RECORD, I would take a couple pics and release her too!
  14. I just never buy BPS reels and never will. They might be great, but I don't see any reason to stray from the big names.
  15. Has anyone else realized the wide array of lures that all of these fish have come on? Topwaters Jigs Swimbaits Live bait Cranks Spinnerbaits Plastics I think this goes to show that catching a big fish has a lot to do with being in the right place at the right time, rather than having the "perfect" bait to make her bite. I think that a number of different lures would have caught the same fish given the same conditions, time of day, and her pure hunger.
  16. I was unaware that they were all the same. Interesting to say the least.

That's awesome! Kudos to you, I personally really appreciate when a dad takes his kid out fishing.
  18. Thank you sir! Forgot to mention, they were tipped with Rage Craws. You didn't think we would throw anything else, did you?
  19. Yep! You need to keep using them. Rip them off the hottom. The first time you get that VICIOUS hit, you will understand. Everything.
  20. As much as it hurts to agree, this is great advice.
  21. PLEASE keep 'em coming!
  22. Agreed, great analogy!
