  1. What rod did you get Woody?
  2. I've been using the 735 for a little while now. When I first got it I thought it was a bit stiff, but now I wouldn't trade it for anything! (except a DX 745) I'm surprised they aren't more popular on here, though I think eventually they will catch on and be the new Loomis like they have on tackletour.
  3. I picked up a Cumara, Champion 735c, and a Curado this winter. d**n monkey.
  4. 3/8 oz. black and blue jig and Rage Craw 3/8 oz. green pumpkin jig and Rage Craw Spro Frog
  5. Ironically, we caught the SAME fish a couple days later, gill hanging out. It looked fine. We also found the crank that we cut off.

Beetle Spin 3 inch grub 4 inch Senko
  7. Floroclear broke on me on several occasions. I won't bomb on it though, maybe I got a bad spool.
  8. Don't limit your open-water frogging. It's a really deadly technique.
  9. Yeah that sums it up for me. I would take a lot of jigs and plastics.
  10. I would buy a camo BR hat, a sticker, and a shirt!
  11. Palomar and Improved Clinch.

Gotta agree with you here. Jig fishing, especially flipping, is my absolute favorite way to fish. When they hammer a jig I just pitched to a laydown, I just about lose it. Don't get me wrong, I love frogs, but jigs are better.

Nice fish bud. Good to see another young guy besides me and hookingem can actually back up their talk!
  14. My jig rod is the 735c Champion, for me it's the perfect rod for fishing jigs, especially pitching and flipping. I want to get like 3 more, LOL.
  15. X2, love the show Mike as you know. You should do a show with me and hookingem on our ponds!
  16. Looks like a pool cue, very tip heavy. Haven't fished one, but when I floor-tested the sensitivity, I couldn't feel any of the vibrations.
  17. Because the bill deflects the lure off the branches.
  18. I've been told bronze/brown/copper for an all-around pair.
  19. If the price is right, I'll buy a spool of it, maybe two. I love my braid and would have a hard time switching, but I still might try it!

    Yep, love that.
  21. I've gotten some pre-spawn on a Spro Frog this year. Once the dogwoods bloom and the pollen mats up in the corners of the lakes, it's topwater time.
  22. Those salt rods are very stiff. A longer rod has a lot more leverage an power. That's why flipping sticks and frog rods are all long, if you stick a 6+ in pads, slop, or wood cover you can get her up and out a lot quicker. You also get better hooksets. For baitcasters I rarely use under a 7'2 rod. Try using a 6'6 MH rod for flipping and you will immediately know what I'm talking about.
  23. Shimano Crucial, Dobyns Savvy. I would definitely get a 7' rod. It will give you more power and leverage to pull them away from heavy cover.
  24. Texas is massive. Call me when you stick a giant.
