  1. Sounds like fun! I need to get a nice setup soon. Good times.
  2. I have a nearby river that I LOVE to wade in and catch smallies. My best combo has been a 5'6" light, 6# test stren and a t-rigged craw. The biggest one I have caught was about 11 inches. Now I love to do this trip, but I really want to catch some better sized ones. I'll try to explain the layout so you can have a better idea of what it's like. Up stream there is a dam, which has some pretty deeper water nearby. There are also some holes with some pretty deep water. In the middle there are some scattered rocks, with an average depth of around 4 feet. I have had some okay success behind the rocks, but never really fished a lot of them thoroughly. Farther downstream there is a big flat were the water is a lot calmer, with some scattered grass beds. then it gets really rocky, an I doubt there are any bigger smallies in the area. I have a lot of confidence in the flat, but since I am wading I feel I am spooking some of the better-sized ones off. Any suggestions on lures/techniques?
  3. Almost forgot: :DNICE FISH!!!!!!! ;D ;D
  4. Not sure if you're taking a shot at me, but the answer is a LOT. Not sure if this isn't an issue in Texas, but here in Cali, it most certainly is. No need to post on a matter that you really don't understand. I've had a body of water RUINED from photos being posted. Actually, make that TWO bodies of water. As for the post above, I would love to see someone unedit the photo posted. If someone is going to be THAT desperate, and spend that much time, then they need all the help they can get. It only took me 3 mins to get a copy of the unedited photo. I will pm you so you can save your spot. VERY nice fish Well aren't you special.

I thought this post was going downhill very, very fast...... ;D
  6. You live near the Cape? My family goes there on vacation every year. Nothin' better than walkin' down Sea Street lookin' at the houses! We always stay in Hyannis. I love Cape Cod so much, and it's so beautiful i could cry thinking about it.
  7. Those last two are swimming footballs.
  8. He slowly stalks his prey..... then BAM! your at the checkout counter with yet another $90 find. Unbelievable. Stupid primates.
  9. Went to Dick's and bought a new Sahara, and it seems amazing! Drag seems like it is really smooth. I also got some Spot Remover shakey heads, craws and some Zoom Shakey worms for smallies. Can't wait to try out the new reel!!! BTW, got some 8 lb p-line floroclear to compliment the Sahara. This is the first nice spinning reel I have ever owned. I'm pumped!!!
  10. Sorry about that description. The front guide on my Cherrywood was all messed up and looked like someone had put a knife in it and went to town. So you guys are saying that with a nicer rod, the guides won't get all cut up? The guide was so bad that when I switched back to mono, I went to cast a lipless crank, and the line snapped mid-cast (I hadn't noticed the guide yet). It was horrible. I really like the Bucoo. What model would you suggest for fishing 3/8-1/2 oz. jigs? This rod would probably also be used for some swimbaits and big worms too, and also carolina rigs.
  11. What length/action/power would you suggest? I was using Power Pro, and it tore up the inside of the front guide. But, the rod was a Berkley Cherrywood ($30). Does the price of the rod have anything to do with how the front guide had a bunch of rivets in it?
  12. I am looking to get a rod to make jig fishing easier, with better feel and sensitivity. I kinda want to get a Mojo 7' H, and put a Citica on it spooled with 20# P-Line C-XX, which i could also use for big worms, swimbaits, etc. I do like using braid, but it tears up the rod. So, that being said, in the $100 range, what rod would you suggest for me for my jig fishing?
  13. Nice fish!!! How much did the one in you avatar weigh?
  14. What were you using? What awesome fish.
  15. Alright, post 'em up. Lately I have been craving smallies. I love the fight, and they are just beautiful. My favorie bass for sure. So, this post is dedicated to those who have targeted and caught good sized bronzies. Show 'em, brag about 'em, tell the story about how you caught 'em. I have to say, my biggest is a pound, so I can't say anything. Brag away.
  16. X2. A T-Rig Plasic with a heavier Tungsten Slip Sinker is a deadly combo. A worm works best, as it slips through the weeds.
  17. My biggest on a Senko (Dinger) was 6 pounds, 1 ounce. I can get a good fish on a Senko, i just takes some patience. Deadstick it.
  18. Good lord that fish has the head of a 12 pounder. Huge!
  19. watch it there lol i am a red head and a stepson Hahahahahahahahahahah
  20. Every fish gets fatter as you scroll down. Weird.
  21. Heading out to a local river for some wade fishing with a good friend of mine who is a catfish guide on the James, and hoping to find some good smallies. I want to improve my smallie PB from the 1/4 pounder to a good 2 ;D Should be fun.
  22. Uh! My favorite fishing weather. I have had luck with jigs and spinnerbaits. I like white with a gold willow blade. Good luck.
  23. Of one fishing lure, what would it be? Mine would probably be Trick Worms, Senkos, or Ribbontails.
  24. Oh, and my favs are Zoom Trick Worms (Red Saphire) and Yum Dingers (Smoke/Red Pepper). Caught a 6+ on both this year.
