Sorry Guys, I would love to be there but right now my priority is my wife, she is only 43 yrs old and has stage 4 bone cancer that has also moved into her lungs and liver. I want to spend as much time as possible with her. I will look forward to maybe the next Roadtrip. Have fun and try to catch some big Bass !

Wish I could go to Pickwick, I had a blast on my first BR roadtrip at Pickwick. Rhino is a barrel of fun !

The rod is #1, the reel is a luxury. It's like power windows on a car, the hand crank works great but the electric makes it nice.

If you want light weight (6 oz), then its the Steez 7'4" XHF SVF or the 8" HF CompileX. I use the 7'4" most of the time for pitching and love it.

Anyone fished the new Steez EX baitcaster and able to compare it to the previous model ? Feedback would be helpful before I upgrade mine. Does TW offer a trial of the new Steez ?

Thats a very nice boat rhino ! Bad news guys, I switched jobs again, trying to find one where I don’t have to do any work buy still get paid a lot. Looks like I cant make the roadtrip, too many commitments and not enough time. Hope to see everyone next year.

I checked with Daiwa on upgrading some of my 6.x to 7.x and I was told they do not offer parts to accomplish the ratio change. I also checked wiht a major Daiwa service center here is Dallas, TX and was told the same.

Thats what I'm talking about ! Makes that 7'1" Compile-X rod worth the $500 you paid for it.

One of the rods they replaced I purchased on ebay but it was new with the serial number tag so I sent it in with the serial number tag and the ebay receipt and daiwa accepted it so I don't think the rod has to be purchased from a dealer.

Im not sure if you have to be the original owner but I was told you need a purchase receipt and serial number.

I feel your pain. My only option is to pay $200-$300 per month for local storage.

Gary Loomis, the guy that created G.Loomis Rods/Blanks, started a new company 2 years ago called North Fork Composites NFC. His top of the line HM blank is IMO equal or above the NRX blank. I have a custom rod built on his HM blank and its unbelievable ! www.northforkcomposites.com The blank is $300 so a finished rod will probably cost you $400+, I put $600 into mine.
