  1. Steez SVF 7'4" XHF with Steez 7.1 103SHA and 70lb Samurai Braid.
  2. Ive had 2 GLX rods replaced without a receipt.
  3. Steez Air Foam beats them all ! Full Cork Grip Full EVA Grip (or equivalent material) Split Cork Grip Split EVA Grip (or equivalent material)
  4. Longer rod is exactly what you want for pitchin and flipin. At least 7'4" or longer. FYI, put a lot of effort into mastering the pitchin and flipin techniques, it will catch you big fish. In the past 3 months I have really focused on pitchin and now its all I do for the first hour when I go fish and I almost always catch at least 2 or 3 really nice fish when Im pitchin a craw. I dont always catch a lot of fish but the fish I catch pitchin are better quality. Plus its a blast when you gently lay that craw into cover and a big one grabs it and takes off.
  5. X10, keep the line tight and get the rod tip down (into the water if necessary) so the fish cant easily jump.
  6. The Steez rod warranty is solid, I just had to steez rods replaced, both had guide issues.
  7. Why would anyone in their right mind pay $499 for the new PX instead of buying a steez. Raul, I wish you could compare the new PX to an actual Pixy and see if it is the same reel.
  8. I used JM reels before I switched to all Steez reels, the JM reels performed well.
  9. Not posting them all but my favorites are: Steez SVF 7'4" XHF flippin stick Steez CompileX 7'1" HF NFC/Otterods Custom 7' MHF All with Steez Reels.
  10. 12# or 15# big game.
  11. Just go out into your backyard and practice. Start with short smooth casts and work your way up. It's how I learned to pitch a bait. I practiced 500 times until it could pitch the bait and hit the target spot with almost no effort.
  12. Frogs - Direct tie the frog to the braid.
  13. I use Daiwa Samurai Braided Line, it uses 8 carriers and is soft as silk. $48 300yds 70#. I cant imagine anything better. PP is rough as a cobb but has a low price.
  14. Steez Reels on Steez or Custom NFC HM rods.
  15. Custom using Gary Loomis new NFC HM blank.
  16. Wow, I cant believe you shipped a GLX and did not purchase full insurance. It's only a couple of dollars and would have saved the loomis warranty for the buyer to use in the future. Ive only had 1 rod broken in shipping but I would NEVER ship a rod without full retail value insurance. But thats just me.
  17. I think that both Daiwa and G.Loomis honor the warrany on their high end rods and try to satisfy their customers.
  18. Don't even get me started about my thoughts on Trey Kistler. His warranty is a joke ! A pityful 12 month pro-rated warranty for a $500-700 Z-Bone rod. Gary Loomis/NFC warranties the blank forever so why doesnt Trey Kistler pass on the warranty to his customer. Trey Kistler should be ashamed! Anyone with half a brain would just buy the NFC HM blank from Gary Loomis and get a custom built and at least the blank would be warranted.
  19. The G.Loomis defect warranty might be ok but I've never heard of anyone having any success trying to make a warranty claim with a G.Loomis rod and getting it replaced as easy as I got my steez replaced. I know the G.Loomis expeditor service was great (I used it 2 times) but now it is not the same. G.Loomis would probably replace a GLX or NRX with the same guide issue just as easy as Daiwa replaced my Steez Rods.
  20. A rep told me they just throw the returned rod into the dumpster. I'd like to find that trash dumpster.
  21. I had a tip and a guide issue on 2 of my Steez rods. The Steez rods include a lifetime warranty but you never know if the warranty is any good until you try to use it. The tip guide on my 7'1" CompileX HF rod failed, the diagonial supports detached from the back of the tip guide. The first guide on my 7' SVF MHF rod popped out from under the wrap. I called Daiwa, told customer service about the issue and requested the procedure for a warranty replacement. I was told to download and complete the request form and ship the rods to daiwa with a copy of the purchase receipts and rod serial numbers. I shipped the rods to daiwa on May 5th and yesterday I received a call from Daiwa that my NEW Steez replacement rods are being shipped to me via UPS. The daiwa rep told me they never repair a steez rod and always replace them. I checked the tracking number and the rods should arrive on May 24th. It cost me $25 to ship the rods to Daiwa and receive 2 NEW rods, retail value $1000. That's a better deal than the G.Loomis warranty.
