Quantum Tour rod with spiral guides?
Spiral guides are the bomb, I wish all rod manufactures did this. I have one custom and it is the best fishing rod I own and one of the biggest reasons is the spiral wrapped guides. If I was starting to buy a collection of fishing rods today, I would buy all customs and they would all be spiral wrapped.

Steez Rod Repair
You not only want the rod to look great , you also don't want someone to do anything that would weaken the rod.

I buy my reels more because I like them regardless of the price. If I find a baitcast reel I like better then I will but it but until then I'll keep buying the Steez. I don't think there are very many great values in anything anymore. No one takes any pride in what they produce. Supply and Demand will always dictate price regardless of the product, its features or warranty.

Steez Rod Repair
I would asked to see someones work before I let them touch that $400 rod and/or be willing to pay the shipping to get it repaired so that it doesn't look like it was repaired. The Steez rod has a finish that covers the entire blank, if the repair is not done by a professional it will runin the look of the rod.

New Fishing Shoes???
They are not cheap. $75-$125 I think they look cool, how do they feel, it is like being barefoot ?

That doesn't make sense to me. Why should the price point dictate the guarantee? I can't think of any complex mechanical product that is subject to wear and tear that comes with a lifetime warranty. The very best of the best, Mercedes Benz, Kitchen Aide mixers, Nikon Cameras, Ducatti Motorcycles and on and on....none of them offer a lifetime warranty just because they are expensive. JMHO Ronnie The higher ends reels that don't should, just because it isn't offered people accept that as the way it should be, I disagree. Ross fly reels, lifetime warranty Tibor reel, limited lifetime warranty Zeebass, lifetime excluding drag washers. The parts that go into a reel cost little when bought in volume at wholesale. The companies that employ overseas labor pay little per item and the cost of shipping isn't that much when broken down per item. My guess expensive reels probably cost no more that $100 to make, I think that's high too. A manufacturer's lifetime repair or replace if needed sound very reasonable to me, it is also a great selling point and could command an even higher retail price. SirSnookalot, I also get upset about the lack of a decent warranty on expensive reels. I don't want to start a warranty debate but it ticks me off when I pay $400+ for a Steez baitcaster and $500+ for a Steez spinning reel and it only comes with a 1 yr warranty. Both Diawa and Shimano should be ashamed of the lack of warranty on their high end reels. Tibor only makes high end reels so I guess they think the person that can afford that reel will not abuse it. The Zeebass warranty covers the reel but not the drag washers which is still a good deal, like a car warranty that doesn't cover the tires. However, for some companies its not about price. Ross provides the same lifetime warranty for all their fly reels no matter if its the $100 or $500 reel. I commend Ross for that. I can only assume that both Daiwa and Shimano provide warranties based upon general usage and service history for the majority of the models of reels they sell and don't want the headache of tracking seperate warranties for certain models of reels. I guess the upscale market is just to small and the marketing people love it but the bean counters don't get it.

Pline CX Premium ?
Well, try the Tatsu #15 and you won't be fishing CX any longer. Wow, I thought my Diawa Samurai Braid was expensive. The problem with the good stuff is, it costs more !

Good All-around Baitcaster Setup
I hate to say it but I think some of of the best combos for the money would be either the BPS carbonlite reel and carbonlite rod for ~$250 OR a shimano core 50 reel and shimano cumara rod for ~$550. If the budget is a lot higher then it would be a Steez combo.

Pline CX Premium ?

Pline CX Premium ?
Jeez, extremely expensive combos yet you use CX? I thought you'd have Tatsu or something on every reel! I've never had any issues with P-Line CX Prem, I use 12# and 14# on my Steez baitcasters.
-
Rod or Reel?
If the budget is $250, I would spend more on the rod. $150 rod and $100 reel.
-
Pline CX Premium ?
I use P-Line CX Prem on 80% of my Baitcasters and almost never have any issues and I use a polmar knot. I check the line often especially near the lure and retie often.

Daiwa Samurai 20# at 4 # mono diameter.
I use Samurai Braid and never have those problems. 20# is way to small for that reel, 40 or 50# would work much better. Your reel is rated for a minimum of 8# line so the 40# Samurai would be good. I use 70# on my casting and 30# on my spinning and it works great. I've never had an issue with the color bleeding.

So who's gonna get this one?
Not trying to start a debate but sometimes its not about what is cost effective, make sense or roi, it's more of I like it so I'll buy it thing. Same could be said for firearms, people purchase expensive firearms and never fire them or just like to take them to a range when a less expensive one will accomplish the same task. Not just pros competition shooters purchase expensive arms, amatures also like and enjoy the expensive ones. Same for cars, boats and most any other item.

The GLX series are tough to beat, I have 2 GLX's, they are worth every dollar, I just wish they were split grip and not cork so I'm going to try one of the new NRX and expect the same or better high quality rod. -Steezy

Rod Sleeves
I always trim off that tag real neat and close to the eyelet at the end of the stickjacket. Also, everytime I have bought a steez rod from TW they have included a stickjacket for free when I asked.
