Jerry fires Wade
the cowboys have several problems, one of the biggest is lack of heart and leadership, they have a bunch of individuals, but no true leaders. also, the players are not held accountable for their mistakes by anyone. Romo has always been overrated and a turnover waiting to happen. Witten is only good for check downs. Three uniquely talented running backs are going to waste. the oline is as bad as the redskins 08-09 oline. the WRs are also overrated, austin has been dropping everything this year, it seems dez bryant is the only player trying on the dallas offense right now. as for defense, Ware is the only good player the cowpukes have. ratliff is a product of teams overcompensating for ware. anthony spencer = bust. keith brooking = done. the dline is invisible this year. and the secondary is in shambles, newman is way overrated and always has been. no talent at safety either. plus theyre poor at creating turnovers the past several years. i watch a ton football and every game it seems a player is on the sideline hyping up other teammates with a chant or something, i have NEVER seen that with the cowboys, goes back to lack of heart and leadership. as a diehard redskins fan, i am so glad to see the cowboys failing and falling flat on their faces after all the unwarranted offseason hype. oh, and the players dont like jason garrett either from what i understand.

Use of a GPS as a back seater?
sounds bush league to me that you would do that. who is to say that the other boater didnt find that spot himself in the same manner you did? and once again, once you show someone a spot, youve voluntarily shared that spot. its a bit hipocritical that you would complain about something thats of your own making. if you dont have other spots to fish, then you obviously didnt put in the time you claim to have put in. and the time and money you do put in, well that was your own choice and is not something you should be holding against anyone else for whatever reasons...

Use of a GPS as a back seater?
I never presumed to say how much or how little i invest into fishing. However, a non boater who isn't investing the time and money into pre-fishing, lodging during the pre-fishing days, and other expenses incurred during the days leading up to the tournament, cannot say that he has earned, or is in anyway entitled, to the rights to that boaters work. If you were invested into fishing as much as that boater was, you would be out there with him pre-fishing the tournaments with him, and wouldn't need his way points now would you? Many people have posted that if a boater doesn't agree with a co-angler taking his locations, then he simply shouldn't take a co-angler to them, putting the boater between a rock and a hard place. I would think common courtesy of the co-angler would dictate that if the boater prefers you not to map out his locations, that you abide by his decision, but obviously the notion of common courtesy doesn't abide within all anglers. in that case neither does the notion of public waters

Use of a GPS as a back seater?
Then don't fish draw tourneys or don't take your "unknown" co angler to your "secret" spots. The minute you take them there your spot is no longer secret. Do you boaters put blindfolds on your coanglers and drive in circles to confuse them so that they can't find their way back to your honey holes? The analogy of cheating of your test is ridiculous. What you're really doing is giving your answers to your coangler. It may not be "fair", but that's how draw tournies are setup. If you don't like it, don't fish it. Complaining about it just seems lame to me. But, I'm not a tourney angler. Don't need these headaches. it has nothing to do with taking a co-angler to a spot, its about them gps'ing your spot without asking, ie taking your hard earned work as their own. If they can find their way back to it without GPS on their own, then that's great, go for it. But plotting other people's work as their own is ridiculous. Would you expect a guide to take you out for free and show you his best spots so that you can mark them on your GPS? No, because he put hard work into finding those spots....boaters in tournaments do the same, so what makes you think that its ok to mark their positions without asking first? Would you have a problem if somebody came up to your boat while at the ramp and started downloading all of your waypoints from your system, then smile and walk away? Because that's the exact same thing as a co-angler who records your fishing spots via GPS without asking. It's the same end result, they took something from you that you worked hard for, without asking for permission first. They stole that information from you. the thing is, once a boater takes the person to a spot, theyre essentially and voluntarily sharing that spot, its not stealing. someone downloading all your waypoints would be stealing, but its not the exact same as someone marking a spot on their own GPS. the spending money and time to find that spot argument doesnt fly with me either. no one forced you to take another angler to your spots, if you value a spot that much then dont take anyone there, tournament or not. and if you have spent as much time and money as you claimed, then you certainly have other spots that are just as productive, yet youd choose to whine and cry over that one spot instead of moving on to the next one. because it certainly didnt cost you that much to find only one spot.

Use of a GPS as a back seater?
yes i do not own the coordinates, but i do own the boat. thats irrelevant. because regardless of any spot you take someone too(assuming its public waters), theyre free to come back and fish it anytime, whether they store gps info or if they remember it by landmarks. dont open your boat up to others if youre going to be a ****** about it. dont take others to your most productive spots if you dont want them to come back another time. since its your boat you have those choices of where you go to fish and if you choose to have someone else aboard. but if you do take someone to one your hot spots, remember its then that you essentially shared it with them so theres really no harm in them making note of it at that point, whether electronically or mentally...

Use of a GPS as a back seater?
im pretty sure i could remember most spots you took me too without a GPS and using my own memory, and im sure others can as well, so i dont see the real issue with someone else saving the coordinates. no one owns those coordinates. if some of you are so worried about someone else fishing 'your spot' later then dont even take them there. if its that good of a spot, i will get back there if i want without GPS coordinates and i will fish it. people can often associate landmarks with fishing spots probably just as well as punching them into a gps. i really dont care about the gas and time and money you spent finding one spot, thats on you. bottom line, if youre so worried about someone else fishing your spots then dont even bother taking them to the spots

Cowboy fans???
There's a huge difference between the 2010 team and the 1993 team. The 93 team had multiple superstars and Hall of Famers. The 2010 team only has a couple superstars and they play on defense. The 93 team wins in the coach category as well. also lets not forget, i believe emmitt smith was holding out when the cowboys started 0-2. they have no emmitt smith to return in week 3 to give them a lift this season.

Drop Shot Question
i use a 1oz bass casting weight for drop shotting. even though it swivels i also attach a split ring to the eye of the weight and attach a swivel to that. where i fish i dont typically get snagged on the bottom a lot, i may have lost 4 weights all year drop shotting.

John H. Kerr Dam/Reservoir
going to Kerr, id target much more than just the largemouth bass. i'd definately be going after the monster catfish in that lake. also id be going after the striped bass, you can actually keep 4 stripers of any size until the end of this month, then it drops down to a limit of 2 with a 26in minimum until june...

Gut hooked fish in tourneys
i have to disagree with cutting the line and leaving the hook in. the through the gill method is money and it works everytime for me. and not to criticize anyone, but i dont get why so many people seem to struggle with it, it was very easy for me from the first time i tried it after learning it on this site...

Great Bass Fishing Advice - 10 Words or Less
I know of so many lakes where they dont let you bring any beer in Cali. You dont have to let this stop you though. what a downer about those lakes, when im fishing for catfish playing the waiting game, theres nothing like having a few cold beers while doing so. but if no alcohol is allowed in a particular place, i prefer to follow the rules.

Why am i only catching one fish?
something that has worked real well for me lately when i cant buy a bite is to put on a weightless t-rigged worm and reel it in super slow with minimal to no pause in the retrieve

Late season tactics?
i dont totally agree with this either. On hot summer days at smith mountain lake i catch largemouths off this small tree thats fallen over, several feet away next to my uncles dock in about 1-3 feet of water. the first couple years i didnt notice the tree holding fish, but ive caught several 2-3 lbers off it this year alone. also in about 2-5 feet of water there are a couple grass patches a bit further out than the tree i catch bass off in the middle of the day. its kinda funny though because i could never catch a bass using artificial off this dock for like 2 summers until this year. and when i can see these fish swimming around the dock but cant get them to bite i use the Fish Chris method and nose hook a live night crawler, toss it out and the bass cant seem to resist it. the bass come in shallow to ambush the small bluegills in the lake there...

Help Me Find A 2 Piece Spinning Rod
My uncle got it for me as a gift because he seen me admiring a couple of his penn reels. I figure i can use it for striper and big catfish. My bro-in-law has a spot where people commonly catch 30+ lb catfish and carp so i figure it would be good for that as well. I never really fish saltwater though i actually did go on a charter with some friends recently in the chesapeake bay, but if i need a reel that can hold up to larger saltwater fish i guess i can use it for that as well. Its a really nice reel and im going to use it for something thats for sure. It just happened to come with a 1 piece rod which would make it uncomfortable trying to travel with it in my car. Typically i purchase combos and have never bought just a rod so i thought id get some ideas and suggestions from people who have put research into rods as far as whats quality in certain price ranges and such. I looked at some this morning that i liked and didnt like, but havent settled on anything so im still open for suggestions. Also, can anyone recommend any brands, types, and sizes of line they would use for this reel?

Help Me Find A 2 Piece Spinning Rod
I'm looking for a 2 piece 7 foot medium-heavy rod to pair with a Penn Captiva CV2 6000 spinning reel. I have a 1 piece rod for it, but am looking for something that makes it a little more convenient for me to travel with in my car. I was hoping some of you all could recommend some nice 2 piece spinning rods to pair with this reel, maybe from the $50-$100 range
