  1. What am I doing wrong??? I have a new Saros F 2500 and a St Croix Premier rod. I use Seaguar Red Lable, 8 lbs test. I got what I think was a "wind knot". It looked like a casting net between my rod and lure. I wasn't able to get it out so I cut, loosing about 20 yds of line. Thinking a swivel would help, I put one of these on, only to get another casting net yesterday. I was able to get this one picked out, though. I use KVD line treatment when I'm finished. What gives? This is really frustrating and I don't have any children to sacrifice. Thanks, Scott. I switched line to 8 lbs Stren. I went fishing yesterday and had a Zoom fluke rigged weightless. After a few cast, I had another "net" in my line. I was about ready to throw the whole rig in the lake but I got to thinking about it..... I noticed how the fluke was twisting and twirling as I was working it back. All of this was adding twists to my line. I cut that off and just added a small crankbait to test. I "tested" for about 2 hours and it worked beautifully! I got this combo to use for small plastics and now I'm not sure it was the best choice. I'm gonna keep it now that I know what NOT to do with it. Thanks for your help, Scott.
  2. I just got a Premier 7"MF and I like it.
  3. I just got a Saros F 2500 which is my first spinning reel and it feels great to me. I wouldn't know the difference between a good one and a bad one, though.
  4. Thanks for all the tips. I ended up making the tool from aluminum and will try the o-rings. I wasn't sure how to make it so, I just guessed and it turned out perfect. Plus, it looks cool. Thanks, Scott.
  5. Thanks, Josh. How'd you manage to hook that big one in your pic?
  6. I saw a thread here awhile back and can't find it for nothin'. Someone was using small "rubber bands" they found in the beauty section at WalMart. Am I dreaming this or what? Another question, what is a good hook for wacky rigs? Thanks for your help, Scott.
  7. Just wanting opinions on a Saros F (not sure what size) and a Mojo 6'8" MXF. I'm looking for a set up to throw lighter, more finesse type stuff. Right now, I have a Citica E on a Mojo and I want to get a spinning reel. My current combo dosen't really like the lighter stuff. Thanks, Scott.
  8. I have the H2O in blue gill and baby bass. I haven't fished the baby bass but the blue gill looks great. Super action but I wish it didn't sink as fast as it does. Awesome for the price.
  9. Sounds like the threads are boogered and your not able to put sufficient tension on the spool.
  10. I don't think Bandit is made in the US. Last time I was in BPS they had "Made in China" on them. For Japanese tackle, Megabass is the best I've seen. I'm starting a collection and have offerings from Jackall, Luckycraft, deps and Megabass.
  11. Yeah, I've tried a few times to contact them to no avail. It's a shame too, that is one of the coolest that I've seen.
  12. I have a tankless and love it. I will never go back to a regular hot water heater. A few have mentioned about low flow hot water. What I do is turn the water on fast and then turn it down. This way the heater sees a load and comes on. If you just turn it on slow, it won't see much of a load and won't come on. You never run out of hot water. I have filled the hot tub while my wife was taking a shower. Can't do that with a tank.
  13. Big time!
  14. I just wanted to express my purchase from Bait Barn. I placed an order there Friday the 16th and received it Tuesday the 19th. This is from California to Mississippi. They had a special that was free shipping with orders over $50. This will keep me coming back and the prices are on par with others. So, two thumbs up to Bait Barn. I'll be spending more money with them.
  15. What can you tell me about the 230SX? I was thinking of getting my first spinning reel and was looking at these. Thanks, Scott.

I have the bluegill, pumpkin seed and baby bass. I only fished the baby bass and tore them up with it. The action is really nice also. I like that the rattle is very subtle, not like a coffee can with BB's and marbles in it. I think some lures are so loud, it spooks the fish. I fished it super slow and it worked good for me. I'll try the others next time out. Scott.
  17. Small pack of kleenex for toilet paper.
  18. I made me a "winch handle" out of a piece of 3/4 oak dowel that is 8"long. When I get caught, I will wrap my line around it 5 or 6 times. Pull like the devil and I can usually get my lure back. This along with 50lb Power Pro, I'll either straighten the hook or something is coming to the bank. I tie a modified cinch knot also. Instead of going through the eye once, loop it through 4 times. Now, there is 4 times the amount of line holding the knot to the lure. It also keeps the knot from slipping. Since I've been using these, I can't remember loosing anything. Scott.
  19. The exact reason for me also. I buy what I can afford and I can afford BPS stuff. They look awesome to me. I have a Slimdog that I've torn them up with. I can't imagine a Sammy being any better.
  20. I think I could handle the monkey, but this gorilla, he's kicking my butt!
  21. become friends with the Bait Monkey? I want to be his friend and not the Bait Gorilla. The Bait Gorilla has been killing me as of lately. Man, I need another job! Scott.
  22. Paint the spot red so it looks like a real wound!
  23. I think you're thinking of Sodium. It is a metal that will react violently with water. Magnesium will oxidize real bad but not explode like Sodium. Scott.
  24. I just listen for the lure to hit the water and them thumb the brakes.
  25. I would think the fish need nitrous to catch the bait. Some of these reels smoke. I thought my Citica with 6.2 was fast...
