  1. Very interesting! Thanks for the tip!
  2. I have been meaning to try those out..He showed me how you rig them shaky head, and they look awesome, but I for have to try them out as a tailer. Do the apendages give off a subtle presentation?
  3. NorthStar new gill swim jig and paca craw all day long!
  4. I don't live in Florida, but I do fish similar condition here in MN. NorthStar Custom Baits alien head premier jigs are perfect for fishing vegetation - they come through very easily and are built to get those biggins out of the thickest of stuff. I low light conditions (a lot of variables come in to play) throw a darker color or something with a lot of contrast. in clearer water I will throw a more natural color - green pumpkin variations are my favorite. I almost always have a paca craw in my jigs.
  5. Soft plastic swimbait and NorthStar Cutom Baits Mop Jig
  6. x2. Spots are one of my favorite shallow water lipless cranks.
  7. Shattered the previous record of 62 degrees for today by 10 degrees! It doesn't matter though, I am stuck at my desk and our lakes aren't open :/
  8. By far the best spinning rod I have ever owned and would recommend for this application, is a 7'2" MH Cumara CUS72MH. Love the length, sensitivity, and backbone on this rod. I have mine paired with the 2500 series Stradic Ci4
  9. I had the best fishing day of my life last year in the spring throwing this bait in 1/4oz size. I found a shallow pocket where the bass were just getting done spawing and it was literally every other cast. I ended up catching 6 bass that weighed 5+ lbs. You're are also right on about the football jigs!
  10. I keep it simple...When it comes to choosing one or the other, I look at the water clarity and light penetration. When I feel as if I need a little more flash or vibration due to windier conditions, dirty water, or low light conditions, I will tie on a spinnerbait - otherwise I am throwing a NorthStar Custom Baits New Gill swimjig!
  11. I would try a shiner color, black/blue, Kentucky blue grass, and chartreuse/white...That would cover every scenario.
  12. Anyone use the crawdad scent? Thoughts? http://www.***.com/B...ge-BANGATR.html
  13. The best swimjig on the market for under $3? Pretty tough to beat that!
  14. The general rule of thumb is to peg if you are fishing cover, and un-peg when fishing open water. In shallow water I generally always throw a weightless zoom trick worm or wacky rig straight tail. Like Kikstand mentioned, I generally fish ribbontail worms a little deeper in my waters. The deep water fish seem to hone in on it better due to the extra action and deeper waters are where the big ladies live.P.S. When fishing gets tough in the summer, use a smaller hook (2/0) and t-rig your finesse worm..Toss that up shallow in shady areas where the bass are going to be sitting comfortably.
  15. This is contradicting to me..
  16. Personal preference, I would never touch anything made by booyah. Thanks for all the tips guys!
  17. After reading the Bass Resource article I have below, it got me thinking about smaller blade sizes when fishing deeper water. This brings up a good talker - what is your theory and reasoning for picking for blade sizes and type. http://www.bassresou...aitfishing.html
  18. You make some great points, and to a degree, I retract my previous statement. High school can very well be benficial, but when I look back on how it impacted me, it was more so a stepping stone that gave me the opportunity to study at a private university, but the education aspect was not there - again, personal experience only. It is great to have a goal such as being a pro-angler, but like SAC2 said, work on becoming a well rounded person, work those tough jobs initally, and in due time your goals will be achievable. I am currently working 50+ hours a week in a sales job that I do not enjoy, but I know this will only strengthen me as a person and provide an experience that will translate well when I am searching for my dream job. Get good grades in high school, get a college degree, and work your but off to meet your career and personal goals.
  19. That was more so my personal experience. In general you are correct, if in the right situation, it can be very fulfilling.
  20. First off high school is a joke. College is really where you're going to start developing yourself as a person, and figure out what you really want to do with your life. I doubled majored in Communication and Marketing, which gave me the best of two worlds. I was able to learn how the world of marketing works and developed crucial artistic skills that you need to stand out. If you aren't 100% sure of what you want to do in the industry, get a degree in communication. This education will help you stand out to companies because, due to communication being vital for any type of success in life.
  21. 10-12# Seaguar Abrasx
  22. That spinner would throw out the small amount of confidence I have in catching quality fish with senkos.
  23. I have been catching bass in MN on swimbaits for a while and own many different options, but I have the say the bait that has put the most fish in my boat is the Berkely Hollow Belly - Purple Tiger. Others I use are: Big EZ Skinny Dipper Cane Thumper
  24. Start with jigs. I choose my colors based off water conditions - dingier/stained water you want a darker color or anything with a lot of contrast. Visa versa, pick a natural color in clearer waters. If you are fishing weedy conditions, throw a grass jig head. Personally, for all around conditions, my favorite jig is a NorthStar 3/8 oz Premier Jig in Missouri Craw. Another great option are for fishing over weeds in shallow water are paddle tail frogs...same colors apply to frog fishing as already stated.
