  1. Just out or curiousity, what type of rod and line are you using? Like others have said, I have never had an issue with landing fish when using NorthStar, in fact my ratio increased when I started using them. He uses IMHO the best hook in the market with the owner deep throat.
  2. IMHO the best product, quality, service, and pricing in the industry hands down...don't over look his spinnerbaits either!
  3. I have a BUNCH of NorthStar Hair Jigs that are in their own individual small ziplocks and stored in a deli meat container labeled "hair jigs". This will take care of your bad hair problem
  4. Thanks for all of the insight guys - I feel a lot better about going forward with this boat.
  5. Anyone have experience with an '05 200 hp E-tec HO? Don't really have any specific questions, but I am possibly looking into purchasing a boat with this motor and I have never heard good things about Evinrudes. Thanks!
  6. Like others have said, these two techniques are polar opposites...I would consider investing in a new rod for jerkbaits, or use your topwater rod..As far as line goes, I would recommend #20 seagur invisx for flipping and #10-12 seagur invisx for jerkbaits.

Never hear of them, but I do like the finish jobs on those baits.
  8. Online? It looks like they are all out of the 1.5's...With that being, the only color I would have confidence in throwing, that is availaible online, would be the phantom craw, but even then I would only throw it in the 1.5 size. If you are talking in store sale, then disregard my post.
  9. First off, why would you be "scared" to use them? Do you mean you just don't have confidence? Like others have mentioned already, I use a 1/4 in colder water conditions when I want a slower rate of fall..In fact I will even go down to a 1/16 oz bitsy bug if I am fishing around boat docks.
  10. Our Walmarts carry Eagle Claw hooks!.....
  11. Well stated Hooligan! Largies, muskie, and walleye are just bonus up here, but yes the brownie fishing is unbelievable. For as good as it is, the primarily hunted fish is the muskie, walley, and pike, which leaves less preditors and prssure on the fish. Hooligan, I think you convinced me to go to Chequamegon Bay this spring!
  12. My wife is not going to be happy you shared this tip RW!
  13. Thanks guys! I wish they had them in better quality, but it is still nice to be able to see footage I have never seen before.
  14. It has its time and place. I have only used the smaller size and really have only found myself throwing it on a shaky head and drop shot in the dog days of summer...It's really my last resort.
  15. Anyone know where I could watch/download previous bassmaster classics? Thanks, VC
  16. What's your name dude? I know Seth Feider and Josh Douglas (along with a few others) are down there now..
  17. I use photobucket and then use the direct link that they provide. Try that.
  18. I have seen this listing in Indiana I believe. Don't quote me on that, but I have seen it and I don't look for boats in Memphis.
  19. Power Pro has a new braid out that is suppose to be pretty hard to beat!
  20. They are both great, but not for what you mentioned. I can't honestly think that you were able to see gravel, stumps, and laydowns from aerial view - those are things that you are able to depict with your side imaging or other graphs. I use Bing and Google maps to get an IDEA of where I will start to find fish, but I never know until I am on the water.
  21. Crankbait/spinnerbait - I would go 12# Seagur Abrasx - great strength, sensitivity, and low memory for flouro Jerbait/topwater - I fish 10# invisx on my jerkbait rod, but if you are stuck on combining these two techniques, I would choose a 10# mono of your choice - I have 10# big game on my topwater setup.
  22. Again, this is very subjective that the answers are going to be all over the place, but if I had to choose one jerkbait in my box I would choose a LC 78sp in American shad.
  23. This is a very broad question. It really depends on the time of the year and what species you are targeting, but hopefully this will help. When I am targeting largies in colder water I like to throw a rogue jerkbait because it has a really wide gliding action to it. Depending on the water temps, I will let it sit for up to 30 seconds each pause to get those stubborn bass to commit. In the summer I am either throwing a pointer 78sp for the 1-6 ft range or deeper I go with a LC staysee which dives deeper and has a larger profile. For smallies, I almost am always throwing a slender pointer - the erratic action is very unique and attracts for smallies for me than the original pointer series. When they are hitting it pretty good, I will size up to even as big as the 127 to try and get a larger bite. Color comes down to confidence and water clarity. In dingier waters, pick a color that will stand out (i.e. Chartreuse shad, american shad, shell white, etc.) and in clear pick a more natural color (i.e. misty shad, ghost minnow, also american shad, etc.). Make sure to have a variety of jerkbaits in different color, action, size, because you never fully know what they will hit on a paticular day.
  24. Are you pegging your weight? If not, this will allow your weight to swim through weeds with a lot more success.
  25. Any love for the land of 10,000+ lakes?
