  1. I was just messing with you man. Seriously though, something isn't right if a shallow crankbait and glass rod caused you problems. Definitely try a different reel.
  2. Sounds like you should take up knitting.
  3. You can try it but I would bet money it will sink your bait. The KVD hooks are 2X, meaning they are made with heavier wire. The line between sinking and suspending is razor thin, especially on a tiny bait.
  4. On crankbaits and lipless baits it's ok to go up a size with a short shank treble. You have to be very careful with suspending jerkbaits though, especially one's that are that small. Buy the Lucky Craft trebles in the same size as what came on the bait originally or you risk drastically altering the acton and suspension of the bait.
  5. Definitely your best work so far, nice job!
  6. Fishing chat rooms can be cool but not if they are moderated. Anyone could start a free Bass Resource chat room on Yuku, getting the word out here wouldn't be allowed though.
  7. I know you can use factory Shimano knobs.

What's the purpose of doing that?

Wrong kind of blade bait. I do want to try the Rage Blade though.
  12. Great movie!!
  13. I never worry about ordering anything online and I've never had any trouble that wasn't immediately rectified by the online retailer. If you get the rod and something is wrong with it, send it back and they will make it right, assuming you're buying from a reputable dealer.
  14. It looks rough. I can't tell if that's just dust/dirt or if he drug it behind his truck. A scratched up body doesn't mean much but it is an indicator of how he treats his stuff. I would proceed with caution. Most parts are cheap, if the spool is ok and it functions properly it is probably worth it, even if you have to put a little money into it. Personally, I would probably keep looking.

I plan to try them out this winter. The Binsky Blades are the one's I'm planning on using. I've read nothing but good things about them.
  16. The Daiwa Ballistic just went on sale for $125, that might be next bargain score.
  17. My favorite sub $125 gems are my like new Alphas Ito 103, NIB 153HSTA, NIB Pflueger Patriarch and 2 gently used Curado 100d's I got for $80 each.
  18. Thanks for the info!
  19. All my used plastics go in the garbage.
  20. I've been pleased with all the Havoc baits I've used. I haven't used them all but the Pit Boss, Deuce, Subwoofer, Rocket Craw and Devil's Spear have all produced for me. For the price, they are hard to beat.
  21. Welcome to the forum. I hope other members and "new guys" pay attention to this thread. Instead of asking a bunch of questions that have been asked twice a day every day for the last 5 years, you searched and read some of the great info that is already here. Kudos to you. You're going to love your new combo.
  22. Just remember, you don't work them, they work for you!
  23. It is my understanding that KVD and Jeff Kriet are part owners of the company.
