  1. Congratulations Clayton!! I'm happy for you man!! You've got a fishing partner for life.
  2. At least we both know we bought gifts the other person will like! After seeing your post, I couldn't wait any longer and opened mine. That's too funny Thanks a lot, I couldn't be more pleased with my gifts! I love the Pop X but haven't used a Pop Max yet, I can't wait to try it out. I think the white python is one of the coolest colors too. Yo Zuri makes great baits and the Crystal Minnow will get used this weekend. I'm glad we ended up drawing each other! Thanks a lot!!
  3. The G Series Curado has nothing to do with the Citica E. Your first sentence is completely false. Like iabass said, the Curado G is the same basic frame shape as the entry level Caenan. The big difference is the Caenan has a graphite frame, while the Curado has an aluminum frame.
  4. Agree completely. TFO isn't Gary Loomis' company and he doesn't build those rods. I'm not sure how he is connected to them but my guess is, TFO paid him handsomely to use his name. Go with the Dobyns.
  5. I paddle a Ride 135, which is an inch or 2 more narrow than the 115 and I have the high seat. A 230 cm was too short for me, I'm 5'10". Flyfisher is right though, if you can find a place to test out some paddles with your boat and seat, it could save you a lot of headache and money. What works great for one person will be all wrong for someone else.
  6. I would recommend a 240 cm paddle also. Any shorter and you will be banging it on the sides of your kayak while you paddle. I wear the Cabela's brand inflatable pfd. I found it to be way more comfortable than the regular pfd's. It is also much cooler in the summer heat.
  7. I guess I never realized there were right and left hand knobs, other than the knobs that have writing on them. I guess because I'm a righty.
  8. Sufix Elite is my favorite mono. I don't use mono much but I am going to buy Sunline Super Natural next time I need some. I've heard too many good things about it and I love their fluoros.
  9. Received my gift yesterday and got the outgoing one shipped yesterday. Now it's time to wait.
  10. I agree with Vikingbear, 17lb should be fine for small baits on a flipping stick and don't use braid.
  11. It's supposed to have a pretty subtle action. They are pretty easy to modify to get a wider glide out of though.
  12. I don't think you're going to get any responses as these just came out a few days ago. They do look very similar to the S-Waver and are about the same size. From what I've seen so far, Savage Gear makes good stuff, I would expect these to be the same. I plan to get a couple. They have a few new swimbaits coming out that look great.
  13. That's weird, I will be paying close attention when I buy Mustad hooks from now on. Thanks for doing the leg work CM.
  14. I've never been fishing in Mexico but if I were planning a warm weather, winter trip, that's where it would be. As already mentioned, weather in TX is very unpredictable.
  15. I've never tried these but I've heard they work great for protecting fingers when cinching knots, especially when tying leaders. http://www.histackleboxshop.com/Finger-Saver-Rings-by-Daiichi-Seiko-p/finger%20saver%20rings.htm
  16. d**n, that's pretty crazy.
  17. Awesome find, I wish I would have bought one when I had the chance.
  18. I'm with you, I think smallies are beautiful fish.
  19. It is a line through bait right? I've straightened out some pretty jacked up tails with boiling water, I'm sure yours is fixable.
  20. No idea. They might not still make it. I know when he won the tournament they did, just not in the bigger size he used. It was a soft plastic line through bait.
  21. Steve Kennedy is who you're thinking of. They actually still make the swimbait he used, just not in the size he prefered.
  22. There aren't nearly enough people here using import tackle to support a forum like that. Go over to TT and check the enthusiast/import forum, you will see that there is no comparison. I enjoy looking at that stuff and reading about it but it doesn't really fit with the VAST majority of members here.
  23. As long as the blemishes are only in the paint, I would (and will) jump all over that sale. Rico's are fantastic poppers and sell for over $20 a piece.
  24. You guys know these are fiberglass rods, right?
  25. Wow, so they must be changing the points. I won't buy them anymore if they don't offer the Ultra Point. Gamakatsu makes great short shank hooks and Owners 36's are great too.
