  1. I was out today fishing the main part of the lake. just as usual there where times when there was a nice current. I was setting up my boat just down current from the cover I was fishing (downed trees, and rock piles). I was throwing senkos and other finesse worms. I would throw them ahead of me and let them drift back towards me at an angle twiching them every so often. I caught two this way. Just wanted to know how others approach this situation and some of the techniques you guys use. I haven't fish in many lakes that have current, until this year. any help would be appreciated.
  2. Im with LBH 8)
  3. a 7.5 to a 10 inch weightless worm reeled over top the lilly pads can be deadly and exciting.
  4. I use a rope like the others said. Just make sure you tie a good not!! I backed my boat in once and it came loose Fortunatley the wind was blowing toward shore and the boat came back in after 20 minutes. Other wise I would have been swimming! The lady working at the park laughed her a** off. :-[ :-/
  5. sorry bowjunkie i havent figured that out yet :-/
  6. This is my 1970 with a 20hp mercury.
  7. WOW! GREAT STORIES!! ;D FUNNY STUFF!!! and i thought i had bad luck. lol
  8. Bass Killer is that english??? lol Kendammit, if this seems to be a problem, I would try to contact your local angency. There just is not enough man power out there to stop this. I'm sure this happens at alot of lakes just in a small quantity. If you want it stopped go and talk to some one so that they know there is a problem. We as responsible fisherman are the ones who have to take action.
  9. here is a pic of what i was talking about
  10. Commercial Bass Fisherman??? never heard of it here either. commercial crappie fishing yes, but not bass fishing.
  11. i have looked at those jons before. the problem is that they are not very wide. this will cause the boat to be very unstable. i use to fish out of an old ten foot jon that was similar in width as those topper jons. not very safe. for $500 i would look into one of those pond prowlers or bass hunters. the ones made out of plastic and look like little pontoon boats. my brother bought one this spring and it is way better then my old jon. you cant flip those things if you try. nice little boat. most of them are pre-wired for a trolling motor.

  13. one thing you have to remember is that its always going to be moving or in gear. it wont just sit still due to the disc always being engaged.
  14. WELCOME!! enjoy all the great information you are about to recieve
  15. i know a similar topic was brought up about buying a depth finder for $200. i need a fish finder for the back of the boat. i already have a garmin 240 on the front of the boat and have been pleased with it. my boat doesnt have a console i just sit in the back and hand steer the 20hp merc. i was looking at basspro and saw several different finders. i did look at the fisheagle 480 and was impressed. im not sure if i can spend $200. so the question is should i just get one for around $100 since it will be on the back or should i just spend the money and get a better one.

  23. i bought a plastic case several years ago at gander mountain. its dang near indestructible and is 100% waterproof. i stuck it in the bathtub to make sure. its great for your wallet, phone, keys, etc. it even floats. wasnt very expensive at all. i would check into. its a clear case with a green seal and green clips. i would give the site but gander mountain doesnt have any products on it.
  24. yeah i saw that. very interesting indeed. that 8lb. hawg he caught was nice. 8)
