Do bas eat tadpoles?
bass will eat anything that can fit in their mouth.

Are those bass?
every time someone asks about fish breaking the surface, the only thing that is ever brought up is carp... what I see regularly is the bass schooling up the baitfish and taking swipes at them, keeping them near the surface, and the baitfish are boiling the top of the water. What works in these situations? depends... But I like to throw a spinnerbait PAST the rolling water, and work it through with alot of twitches and jerks. Most other baits I won't get bit on in this situation. Another one I like is a trick worm weightless. I've tried working topwater through the area, and seems like every single time all it does is scare the baitfish away, which also moves the bass away.

Virtual Human Technology...is here.
that's really wild! The only thing left is to have the game come with a full body suit with sensors, and actually put you IN Milo's world. I bet that's not too far off, something we'll see in our lifetime.

buzz bait laying on side.
happens with spinnerbaits too... Like said, try bending the arm back the other way, and test at the normal speed you would be retrieving.

Need some advice taking fishing photos
Just so you guys know, mp's are not everything... It mainly means how big you can print a clear picture. I have a 6mp camera that will wipe the floor with many 10 or 12mp cameras. More mp does NOT always mean better picture.. just learn how to use the camera better, and you'll get better pictures. It's like looking at cars, the car with the most horse power is not necesarily the fastest... same thing with the cameras.

I typed in Mojo Lures, and surprisingly enough, the Mojo Lures website was the first one that come up.

Fishing while raining?
if you don't get out much, any chance to be on the water is not a waste of time! I've had many good days in the rain.

The tables were turned!
yep, we have some nice sized muskie in the lake. Jas was getting bit right where I was getting hits from muskie in fall, around a rock in the swim area.

vegan bass?
If you look at some of the baits we use and catch fish on, you'll quickly realize that a bass will eat most anything that crosses it's path. Many time people only focus on the "feeding bites" and forget about the territorial bite and/or aggression bite... They may go after something simply because it's coming too close, and bass are apex predators in many lakes.

Fishin & music?
I never bring music on the boat, but maybe 2 months ago I was out early on a saturday, and around 9am a dj started playing music outside of the clubhouse (they were having some kind of fundraiser) and it was pretty cool. But my lake (and town) is super quiet, and I like to just enjoy that peace and quiet. My area of new jersey is completely different than the rest of the state in terms of amount of people, traffic, and general noise. So it's nice to just kick back and enjoy the quiet. I'm getting spoiled here, I can't stand driving around in North Jersey with all the traffic... anytime I have to go somewhere, especially on the weekends, I find myself getting pretty cranky until I start heading up the mountain lol

The tables were turned!
so we walked down to the beach today with the neighbors, and swam out to the float dock. As i'm hanging off the side of the dock, a gill came and bit a mole on my back 4 times and banged it up pretty good lol. My neighbors wife got bit twice, and my fiance got bumped a few times by them. Thought that was interesting, they went after all the freckles and moles. Guess they truly will try to eat anything

Missed jig bite follow up bait?
A common mistake by anglers after they miss a fish is to reel it in quickly, and cast it back out. If you just leave it there, there's a chance the fish will come back and get it... Work it just like you did when you got hit, the fish is probably still close. like said, if you didn't stick it there's a better chance. But by reeling your bait in, your putting the odds in favor of the fish.

Any one fish with the "top prop"? Do you get a lot of misse's too?
From what I have seen, the second a fish breaks the surface most people yank the crap out of their pole before the fish even had a chance to get the bait in it's mouth... a lil patience goes a long way in getting a better hookup ratio.

Have a funny and somewhat off question
if you were in a heated discussion, he probably just was trying to tick you off... I don't see how anyone can say anything bad about your pic.

Mepps Spinners
I love mepps, awesome baits. I normally use a #5, which one depends on the conditions. Great baits though.

Hot weather, smaller bass?
without knowing the water, tough to say. But almost all of my biggest fish of the year come from deeper water in the summer.

What do you consider a successful day when fishing?
You might have had some great times, but how can any angler say he/she had a successful fishing trip when he/she didn't catch anything? That attitude has never made any sense to me. It's almost like a copout. It's kinda like an excuse to NOT catch anything. It's like when you catch nothing you can just say "Who cares, I'm just out here to enjoy the birds and relax." I mean I've had some great times when I've been skunked, but "success?" No way man. Calling a fishing trip where you catch no fish a success, is like getting shutout in a football game and calling it a victory. Im just gonna say you'd have to know me to not make a comment like that, When life happens to you and you see how fragile it is, one day ya here and the next your gone, then you'd appreciate your time here, the rest is grasping for the wind. Not really sure what you're saying as your writing style is really confusing. If you're saying I don't appreaciate my life or my time on Earth, I just have to laugh because you have no clue what you're talking about. In any case I stand by what I said. Anyone who thinks a successful fishing day is when you don't catch anything, has a very unrealistic way of looking at things. Can I go out and catch nothing today, and have an amazing, fun, awesome time? Of course! Obviously! Could I thank God for me just to be alive and have a shot of going fishing today? Of course! Obviously. Can I see how lucky I am just to have a chance to be out in nature, wetting a line, enjoying the day? Of course! Obviously. But to call it a "Success" when I don't catch anything? That makes ZERO sense. The whole reason we fish, is to catch fish. Otherwise we could just go on the boat and not bring any fishing gear. We could jump off the boat and swim, and eat food on the boat, and waterski behind it, but that's not FISHING. When you are FISHING and not catching anything, you're not having any success. If you're not catching any fish 4 days in a row, while everyone around you is catching fish every 10 minutes, you HAVEN'T had 4 "successful" days of fishing. You've had 4 successful days of fun in the sun, but that's about it. If you're out there 4 out of the next 7 days and catch nothing, you can't honestly look your girlfriend or Mom in the face and tell them "I'm a successful angler." Not without being dishonest anyway. you come off sometimes as very condescending, not cool at all. "success" involves opinions, which means there is no right or wrong answer. I've had plenty of trips that anyone with half a brain would consider succesful trips, and didn't catch a fish. Before you try to knock somebodies ideas, next time think about all of the possible scenarios, and remember that an opinion doesn't have a right or wrong answer. Everybody's definition of "success" in general, or as it pertains to fishing is going to be different...
-
What do you consider a successful day when fishing?
a "good" day is simply any day I can get on the water, regardless of what I do or do not catch. A "succesful" day in my book is anytime I can't remember exactly how many fish I caught.

Shakey Head + Trick worm = ?
depending on how thick the weeds are, I may not throw a shaky head into them. If the weeds are thick, i'll try around the edges, and in the holes. If the weeds are TOO thick, it will be hard to work the shaky head the way it shines.

Re: Negative Tackle Warehouse experiences? anyone else?
If I order during business hours, I don't think i've EVER waited more than an hour or 2 before I had an email confirmation that the shipment was processed. Only time i've waited longer than that was if it was at night, or the weekend.

Now I Know!!!
I hear you on that!! If I leave my lawn for one week in the summer, looks like I haven't mowed all year! If I left it for 2 weeks, the house would look borderline abandoned lol

Line Breaks
I have recently recieved a bad batch of line, which caused me to lose the most expensive bait I have purchased lol. After some testing, it was brittle enough to pull apart by hand with almost zero effort for maybe another 100 yards after what I had spooled. I would test the line, and take the bad line off if it's breaking that much. Also if you're running through heavy cover, or the line is dragging on rocks or something, you'll want to re-tie often. Very possible it's just bad line though. Is it breaking at the knot? Or midway up the line? I'd also make sure that there's nothing rubbing the line, maybe a sharp area of the spool, or guides. If you don't find anything, try re-spooling.

history of the site
On any forum you go to, and stay for a while, after some time you'll start to see the same questions over and over. New members that come to the forum, and don't have much expereience, or even the experienced people that have questions, are going to ask things that may seem like simple questions to someone that has been around a while, and knows a little more. Same way on the car forums I used to go to.
