Who's your favorite
I can't stand majority of fishing shows because they're nothing more than an infomercial for their sponsors. But I like the show with Ike City Limits. It's just about fishing, it's not a sales pitch.

night fishing
This topic comes up very often, especially recently. The fish don't say to themselves "Ok, it's 9pm. Let's stop eating plastics now and only eat buzzbaits". Use the same baits that work in the lake daytime.

Buzzbait Bass
I had my scale with me, but the stupid batteries were dead. ;D I did get the measurements though. it was a tad of 20 inches. always when that happens lol. We went bluefishing over the weekend, caught the biggest fish of my life, and the pictures didn't save in the camera. F*(*@#R@R!!! lol Length and girth measurements will give a good estimate if the scale dies... because that's always when you get the good one!

What was I doing wrong?
so why didn't you put on a weightless senko? 8-)

Buzzbait Bass
looks like about 1.5 lbs or so, can't tell from a picture though. But doesn't look anywhere near 3-4 lbs. Again without knowing at least the measurements, impossible to tell. Pick up a scale, takes out the guess work. Either way nice fish!

First time Deep Sea Fishing
this one was 125 feet so 50 people was nothing. A friend who's been on the boat a bunch of times said usually it's guys elbow to elbow at first. Halfway through half the guys were inside laying down sick, so that made it even better lol.

Longer life bait kit
I don't see why you'd have to end your trip immediately... throw it in a cooler, or on a stringer, and you're good to go.

What was I doing wrong?
This just happened to me when i was on my fishing trip last weekend... couldn't touch them with a texas rigged rage tail monkey, lizard, rooster, culprit worm, anything but my buddy was slaying them on a weightless senko.... catt said it right.. ROF so why didn't you put on a weightless senko? 8-)

What was I doing wrong?
when you're fishing with a friend, it's the perfect opportunity to work as a team and really nail the fish. Many times i'll go out with my friend and we'll throw different baits, not on purpose, we just gravitate towards different techniques. If i'm throwing a plastic, and he's getting them on a spinnerbait, and i'm not, i'll switch to a spinnerbait and start getting them. Just like if i'm getting them on a plastic, he'll switch to what's working. You may have not been doing anything wrong at all, the fish just wanted something different than you were giving them. If you see someone catching fish, and you're not, really try to think about what they're doing differently, even if it's the same bait. If someone is outfishing you in the same location with the same bait, drop the pride and ask what they did, or watch to see what's different.

First time Deep Sea Fishing
sirsnook, yea was a great time. we went out on a party boat, lucked out, it was a big boat and only about 50 guys so we were never on top of each other. There was only one time the whole trip that a few lines got tangled, but everyone was pretty spread out. I have bent hooks, and broken steel leaders lol. Great experience, and I'll def. be going back. Those suckers really put up a fight! Smokerise, live in kinnelon?? lol. I went out on the Big Jamaica out of Brielle, great boat and great mates.

Do Fish Sleep
so could every other question that's posted on here.... but that kinda defeats the point of having a forum.

a few snapshots from today
agreed totally. That seems to be the first question people ask, "what camera". The camera does not make the shot, the person holding the camera does. nice pics, and I love the frog.

How to solve the drug problem
much of the drug supply IS poisoned, and there's a good chance that every time you buy you're going to get a bad batch and die. There's ZERO deterrent for a drug addict, if you gave someone straight poison, they would probably do it anyways because there's a chance you may be lying, and it's really drugs. Guys will shoot 10 bags of baby powder, even if they know it's baby powder, because maybe one of the bags actually has something mixed in. The mind of a drug addict is a rediculous, twisted, fantasy world. Says who and where do your stats come from? Poisoned with what? Are you referring to cutting agents like Inositol for cocaine? Or do you mean rat poison? Have you ever seen how cocaine is made, or crystal meth? The ingredients are poison themselves. Drug cartels would be cutting there own throat by poisoning their product because no one would by it. They are strictly in it for the MONEY. My stats come from experience, and watching it get done. The drug cartels sell their pure product to someone who cuts that product to make more money... they then sell it to someone else, who again cuts that product... by the time it reaches the corner street level dealer, it is nothing like what came from the drug cartel. The street corner dealer could give a crap if you die or not, because someone else will be pulling up in their car any minute. Like you said, it's all about money, and if they take say an ounce, cut it with something, that means they're getting more for their money. Majority of street level cocaine, heroin, crack, and other drugs are mostly fillers by the time they get to your average addict.

how important is an expensive rod
I'll take a 19 dollar combo and a 30 dollar combo and outfish many people with 500+ combos. I don't care what ANYONE says, the equipment does not make the angler. Just like if someone buys a ferari, they're not going to go out and win a road course event, or if they buy the best pots and pans they're not going to be the best cook... unless they also have the skill to back it up. Of course, I would certainly expect to hear otherwise from the people making these higher end items... Reminds me of the time some guy in a brand new porsche was giving me crap, until I embarrassed the hell out of him with my $15,000 hooptie in comparison. Should have seen the look on his trophy wifes face after I winked to her lol. Sure, his porsche had all the high tech items, lightweight wheels, bigger engine, carbon fiber here and there, but what good did all that fancy stuff do to someone that didn't know how to truly use it? And what about the guy with sub-par equipment that actually knew what he was doing? Point is, you can have the best fishing rod in the world.... if you dont' know how to find the fish, and work your bait, it doesn't matter what you have, you will not be in any better shape than someone that knows what they're doing but owns sub par equipment. For the weekend angler that gets out once or twice a month, things are a little different than someone who goes out 4-5+ times a week and really uses the crap out of their equipment. Buy the best you can afford, but don't let ANYONE try to convince you that you can't go and have a good time without spending a ton of money. Because for the weekend angler, that's what it's all about... having fun, and catching a few fish in the process (hopefully!!) And you certainly don't have to take out a 2nd mortgage to have fun. A $160 rod should be more than sufficient for the weekend angler.

advice
I don't believe anyone I don't know about the size of fish... see way too many people exagate in real life, and on this site as well. too many 2-3 pounders become "a solid 6 lber" and they get even more exxagerated. Like already said, if there's too many small fish, there's no enough food left for the big fish, so there will be less big fish because they don't grow as much. Keeping some of those small fish and eating them will help out.

Best way to fish a Pop-r ?
there's no one "best" technique for any bait, tactic, style of fishing, etc. it's all about trying different things, finding out what the fish want, and staying with what works. try different things, and keep mental notes about exactly what you're doing, so when you do get that bite, you can try to replicate what you were doing that caused that strike.

frog that looks like a frog on crack
there's your problem. Rarely in life can you buy something cheap, and it works as good as the expensive ones.

Sebile Magic Swimmer Soft Pro
are you using the pre-made hook slots? With the hooks that came in the package? If so, there should be zero issue with setting the hook, as it should come out quite easily. My main problem with them was the durability. I went through all 3 of them and caught 1 fish, and lost 1.

First time Deep Sea Fishing
So my buddy is getting married, and i'm best man... we hung out all weekend and saturday went deep sea fishing for blues. It was our first time, and man was it fun! I got queezy, and one of the other guys was queezy to the point of making only 1 cast... was a lil rough out there lol. But I had an Ike never give up moment (without all the yelling) between going on almost zero sleep in 3 days, and having already pulled in a bunch of good size blues (smallest I got was around 6-7 lbs) I was ready to call it quits and just sit down. I said what the hell, let me try one more time... So I dropped the line down, watched the line pull, set the hook, and knew it was the best one yet. I was near the end of my spool, and had a hell of a fight... Pulled out a 14 pound blue, biggest fish i've ever caught, and it was the biggest on the boat, so I won $215. Not a bad first time out! Also goes to show you to never give up... If I just sat there I wouldn't have caught that fish, and that fish turned the trip from good to awesome for me. Earlier in the day, I hear a guy behind me laughing, so I turn around, and he's obviously laughing at me. So i'm like what's up, he was reading the back of my shirt, picture of a guy holding a big bass and it says "This is what I look like when I call in sick". Turns out he was the guy that had the 2nd biggest fish, came up and said "Man, you live up to your shirt". Pretty cool, and a great first time out in the ocean. If anyone has been considering it, but hasn't gone, it's a hell of a trip.

How to solve the drug problem
Here's a few thoughts, and what most people done' realize when it goes into this... there are areas of the country, especially out west, who's entire economy is based on the sale of marijuana... If the production of marijuana stopped, these counties would literally crumble, and the impact on the rest of the state would be devastating. On the flip side, there's no real reason for marijuana to be illegal. Anyone with any kind of experience can tell you that it's less dangerous than alcohol, it's just more tabboo, because it's illegal. I had a drug problem growing up, (haven't done any hard drugs for almost 10 years now) and I can tell you that there's lots of drugs that should not be made legal... If you've never done them, you wouldn't understand this, but trust me, there's some stuff out there that you do ONCE, and it's so good, you're hooked... so that one bad decision, or giving in to peer pressure, or what you do after too many drinks at a party can literally ruin your life. For those with kids, imagine if your 17 year old could go to the local store and pick up a sack of heroin, w.t.f???? There's just some drugs that I can't EVER picture being legal, and for very good reasons. There's also drugs that are rediculous to stay illegal, so I think it needs to go on a case by case basis. Weed, most halucinogens (if taken properly, and responsibly) and many other drugs have less of an impact on life than booze does. The biggest problems these days people run into is either not being mentally prepared to take what they're taking, or they had a bad batch because there's no quality control regulations, so you really have no idea what you're taking. If these things were regulated, many of the problems and incidents we hear about do to using recreational street drugs would be gone... I think that's where the line needs to be distinguished... what is a recreational drug, and what is not, and should never be.

Ever catch the same fish twice?
I've caught the same bluegills multiple times, release, cast out, and watch it go and hit the bait. after a few times I just moved it somewhere else because it kinda got annoying, even though it was funny at first.

Is fishing harmful?
I haven never, ever, heard fishing described as a "dangerous sport" and anyone that calls it such has zero credibility lol

Curado E7 making noise-advise needed
not everyone likes to send in parts for warranty work, some people like to fix problems themselves, especially if it's an easy fix and you can have it back together in a short time. That beats mailing it out, waiting around, and then waiting for the mail to come. Plus, you learn nothing by sending something in to be repaired.
