thats how I usually cast but like bigfish said I like having contact with the line when I'm fishing t-rig and jigs. I haven't had a fish threaten to pull the rod from my hand and I have landed at least 6 fish that went over 18 inches on my bc this year. I will be doing lots of fishing this weekend so I'll experiment

since I fish plastics 90% of the time thats what I catch most of my fish on.

This may seem like a weird question but how do hold a BC reel in your hand with a trigger rod? I palm the reel with my pinky under the trigger... is this right?

I picked up this reel last year because I thought I would start Musky fishing. I have casted it maybe 25 times.. would it be better to sell it or could I convert it for flipping/pitching?

I feel like I cast farther with braid (Fireline or P-Line) as compared to flouro or mono.

Caught one last weekend with a hook coming out of the @$$. carefully got the hook out and the fish swam away happily.

I got a new KVD Tournament Series Spinnerbait tonight and it comes with a trailer hook. I wanted to put a plastic grub on there as a trailer but I can't get the trailer hook off. Does anyone but the trailerbait on the trailer hook?

I am looking to get started in fishing tournaments.What is the best way to find tournaments? Is there a website or anything? I am looking at lakes such as Delavan, Geneva, and Fox Lake Chain. Pretty much anything in southern WI and northern IL. My problem is that I don't have a boat and I'm only 17. Are there restrictions against this? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
