The three lower end in the Croix line are all made with the same blank. The Premier is made in the USA, The Mojo is made in Mexico and the Triumph is made over seas I believe. That is why the price points are different.

I would think it would be fine. Worse case double it up if your getting them for free.

After you tighten them go with Steel Flex on the bottom. Do a search on Tinboats for it. It will be going on the hull of my boat next month. Great Product.

I'm far from an expert but I would think the slower reteive would be better. Slower ratio means more power. I suppose there are arguments on both sides. I wouldn't think that a high gear raito reel is a durable as a slower. I guess it depends if you want to try to launch the fish from cover or force them. Personally, I would rather go with heavy line, low ratio, and nice sturdy rod and if need be bring the cover out with the fish. You aren 't going to crank in the fish, you are going to horse them out with the rod, puuLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL !, reel in the slack line as fat as you can as you lower your rod, puuuuuuuuLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL !, what do you want a slower reel for ? you want a pool cue. Thats what I meant ;D

You actually want a fast retrieve so you can yank them out from the cover so you should be good there. Either of those Shimano rods are very highly respected so go with what your wallet tells you. Try some of the new braids (Fireline, Suffix, Power Pro) They are nothing like they used to be. The line really is great!

I agree with Muddy, I use the Duo Locks and I have not had a problem.

Good advice right here. You could also swap out for a Cabelas Prodigy reel. They are a solid value or keep checking the Flea market. Tons of good deals in there. I see a lot of the Code reel sold as broken so, Even with me being a Quantum Guy, they do not give me a warm feeling.

Just towed my 14 Semi V home (40 Miles) with my 2003 CRv and hills and braking were fine. I have to agree that I do not know if I would go any more.

Get a Cabelas Prodigy reel and an 6' 6" MH XML or XMLti rod (Both One sale) and your just over $100 and you will not outgrow it anytime soon.

Kinda par for the course with all the hoopla about Light weight rods, something has to give. The website shows that you can return it to the store and they will give you a new one. Just print out the webpage and bring is back with the broken one. They are solid on there policy, never read a bad story.
