That's funny,the only time i ever had problems with a finish cracking was when i used e tex,not a single problem when i use devcon. : Nothing i've found holds up to rocks and big toothy salt water fish better than devcon.If your going to test a finish there really is no better place than the ocean during bluefish season. Most people that have cracking problems are either: A. Not mixing it correctly B. using an inferior substrate C. Not properly preparing the surface If your looking for something with the same general properties as e tex(ie thinner viscosity) but made specifically for the marine industry try System 3

  6. I've never used flex coat but from what i've read about it it is very similar to the finish i use. I use Devcon
  7. Not a good lure finish,peels off like cellophane.
  8. A great lure for finding fish in spots that go shallow to deep is a spinnerbait. Slow roll the lure allowing it to swim progressively deeper,following the contour of the bottom. I'll cast into a couple of inches of water using this method,works great. Some big surprises lurk in the shallows

  22. 7 1/2" slug go in rainbow trout pattern work well. Tandem gold blade colorado/indiana spinnerbaits. Cranks/swimmers in blueback herring are top producers all along the east coast for both stripers and LMB.
