  1. On its own, the crazy legs. For a trailer on a jig, the 3" chigger craw.
  2. Of the braids I've used, Spiderwire Stealth has been my favorite, followed by Power Pro, and least liked Suffix. I have Fireline Tracer Braid that I haven't used yet but I got a spool and will be giving it a try this weekend. I also want to try Spiderwire Ultracast.
  3. I used to use a fluoro leader on braid, thoughts? Well, let's just say I only tie the braid directly to the lure anymore and if I want to use fluorocarbon, I use a reel spooled with fluorocarbon.
  4. I fish spinning and baitcasting with the rod in my left hand and reel with my right.
  5. I like to carry 6... Spinning rod Spinnerbait rod Crankbait Rod 7' Heavy rod w/ braid' 7' Heavy rod w/ fluoro Lipless crankbait rod on rivers, I'll add another spinning rod and drop one of the crankbait rods
  6. Also, I have the 7'4" rod. Great for throwing lipless cranks across the state and fishing medium and deep cranks (8+ feet).
  7. 3/8 oz jig w/ 3" trailer
  8. Maybe try 65# braid....or 25# fluoro, has less stretch than mono and sinks.
  9. 1 - Berkley 3" Chigger Craw 2 - Berkley 3" Double Tail Grub
  10. spoon, stroke a jig, drop shot
  11. I don't reduce the number of strands, but I shorten them to just beyond the hook point and fan them out.
  12. Another thing to consider, almost all pro's are sponsored by at least one company that makes soft plastics, so while they may not technically be using a Senko, they may be using their companies "senko."
  13. Have had my best luck with Bomber Fat Frees.....2.5" 1/2 ounce.
  14. It's okay if you can keep yourself slow. Personally, I just can't slow down so I went to a 5:1 to compensate. I know other people who use 7:1's for everything and just really slow down when they crank.
  15. I use them more to "search" for structure. If I feel it hit something or pull in weeds, I know those are spots I may want to use a finesse approach around. But if I am catching fish with them, I don't really see any reason to go to another lure, maybe a different color if the bite isn't optimal. Basically what Catt said, "start slow, stay slow" or "start fast, stay fast."
  16. Sounds great, I should have my E7 in the mail within the next week or so, can't wait.
  17. T-Rigged weightless watermelon senko on the edge of the weeds...my definition of a confidence bait
  18. I have the IMX 844 and it is all that and more. I throw as light as 1/8 oz with it and as much as 1 ounce. The power is phenomenal and the sensitivity has me spoiled. Can't imagine how awesome the GLX must be.
  19. Strike King (Red Eye Special) is my favorite, followed by Booyah.
  20. Shimano Curado 200E5 - $150 (eBay) Loomis Cranking 845 7' MH - $245 (TW)
  21. I like the 7:1 for worm/jig fishing so I can reel up any slack line fast. The 6.x:1 is pretty much good for anything and the 5:1's are nice for cranking, and I guess you could use it too for slowrolling spinners.
  22. It shouldn't...the backing is just to take up space so it shouldn't really matter, you should hope you don't get down to that while fishing. As for the leader, I use 40# braid with a 20# fluoro leader, and inconsistency hasn't been a problem. I too use the uni to uni knot but use about 5 turns on both lines.
