reaction innovations big dipper
Has anyone thrown one of these yet? It has a really big profile and decent colors. I know a certain flat that the big girls like to hang out on in Feb/March when they get active. These could be an option.

Hybrid = Wet Noodle?!
Very true but theres deffinetely a diffrence between comprable sizes stren flouro and hybrid.

Hybrid = Wet Noodle?!
Micro your correct, "float" is misleading. I should have stated that it takes longer to sink. My point being that you get more of a bow in your line than with flouro do to the line lingering higher in the water column.

Hybrid = Wet Noodle?!
I think one of the things that sets hybrid apart is the fact that its so strong yet doesnt stretch as bad as alot of other mono/copolys I've tried. Sure big game, XT, suffix seige, etc have decent strength to diameter but to me all felt like a rubber band. Hybrid is just as sudden as any flouro Ive tried. The only gripe I have is that it does float, and flouro gives me a more direct contact when fishing in current. Ive used this line exclusivly for 5 years, I keep experminting with others and end up coming back to it. I know that I can depend on it to be strong, sensitive, abrasion resistant, manageable, and won't spook fish (I use it for leaders in the salt). Couldnt ask for more out of a line.

new pro qualifier tournament edition
I just ran out and picked one up at lunch. As far as I know the sale ends today. Initial impression is good. Palms great, is really light at 7.05 ozs and the paint is beautiful. When the light hits it changes color almost like a curado, but more noticeably. My only gripe is the handle seems a bit short, but time will tell once I actually fish it.

Carolina Rig Rod Suggestions?
X2, a great rod. Sensitive, comfortable to fish, and it does alot of other things well.

Jerry fires Wade
I really hope they dont hire gruden, I dont think hes a good fit.

Rod handle length
I really have no preferance with the exception of a spinnerbait rod. I have an older fenwick HMX that has a bit shorter handle that I love.

Staying Above the Moss/Crud
A nail weight inserted in the plastic of your choice has been really useful for me (just dont go too heavy). I've even sliced the heads of fluke type baits and glued bullet sinkers in place. As mentioned above make sure to cover your knot/hook eye. Also dont over look the good ole senko! It will sink better than other weightless baits and has less appendages to grab the "mung".

Rapala Skitter Walk
X10 ! I also like the xrap finishes better. Glass ghost is one of my favorite colors in existence.

gander mountain BF ad
Not sure if its an official national "sale", they just had about 40 rods in the middle aisle marked down.

gander mountain BF ad
Thanks for the heads up! They have the gander mountain branded rods on clearance to in store. The higher end models are made by american rodsmiths (at least a few models are) and are an excellent value. I picked up a very nice crank rod there yesterday for $30 8-)

pro qualifier bearings
Thats kind of my reasoning too rooster. I crank the snot out of a rattle bait and a smoother reel is definetly a plus. In the past 6 months or so I've gotten into tinkering with reels and its something I really enjoy.

pro qualifier bearings
I'm aware of that, just wondering if anyone knew specificly where.

pro qualifier bearings
I'm about to pick up a pro qualifier for my dedicated trap set up. I have a JM signature reel for parts and was wondering, where are the extra bearings in the JM? Handle knobs? Thanks Josh

Silicone spray
Thanks rob! You make a fine product for sure. How does line and lure do on braid?

Silicone spray
I did a little more research, and after looking at some MSDS's it appears some silicone sprays could have a use (adhere to nylon type products (line) , repel water, enviro friendly, reduce binding and memory, etc.) KVD doesnt specify in his book which one he used, so who knows? Others make me nervous to use at all, lol. There really is a big diffrence and a good reminder to know what chemicals your using. DVT-- I discovered that alot of sprays actually have acetone in them, which is what degrades line, paint, etc.

Jabberwock Evolution & D.R. supertuned Calcutta TE 100DC
Man that slant bridge is sexy. Id love to see other manufacturers try that design

Silicone spray
Yeah me too it's a good product, I'm pretty much out of the L+L and was just wondering if it was worth trying out. If there was no real diffrence between the 100% silicone and L+L then why not? Hunting season is here and the fishing budget is pretty low 8-), so every little bit helps.

Silicone spray
I read years ago a qoute from KVD that he used silicone spray on his line and reels. A few years go by and products like line and lure are on the market. I have an aerosol can of this spray and it does make things a lot slicker after spraying it. Has anyone used it on their reels? Seems like a cheaper alternative.

Buzzbait weight
I agree with above, 3/8 is usually the swet spot as it stays on top a bit easier than 1/2
-
whats you top producing crankbait colors?
Anything brown that looks like a craw and any natural shade of white to imitate a baitfish.

How 'bout them Cowboys???
Jimmy Johnsons been endorsing more stuff than roland martin lately, maybe he would take his old job back? ;D I seriously cant take watching this much longer. We literally have been in posistion to win every game deep into the 2nd half all year. Jerry is playing lip service I think to keep the rumor mill silent, Wade's days are numbered. Its going to eat him alive (jerry) when the superbowl comes to town. On a more positive note, giving credit where credit is due Roy Williams is playing his butt of this year.
