Revo better than the Curado?
You will want 5 more! Seriously, some will gripe about the graphite sideplate, but in real world fishing it doesnt matter.

Revo better than the Curado?
Ive been an abu guy for 5+ years, but the new curado has converted me. Out of the box I was VERY disapointed with its casting, after flushing/relubing the spool bearings its insane how far it will cast. It palms great, is light and does everything I could ever want a baitcaster to do. My 08' sx left a bad taste in my mouth. I collect ambassaduers and would like to try a revo again, but why bother if Im so blown away from a somewhat lower level shimano? I would really like to see abu's take on a reel geared for lighter weights. We have seen 9 models of revos but nothing to fill that niche.

What to throw when bass are busting shad??
Luckycraft sammy 85 in MS american shad. An absolute perfect threadfin mimic on some lakes I fish. There was a post with a ton of info on this very topic about a month back, check it out!

$150 for Finesse Rig...what to do???
Get the pflueger president... Very smooth and durable. I have several that are going on 5 years of use. One 6740 has handled many stripers and never quit. I like to use the 6735 for what your doing (The bigger spool handles line a bit better). Some may like the 6730, handle both and see for yourself.

Bass Pro Shops PQ1000XPS Reel
Man its funny you posted this, a friend gave me one of the 6.1's yesterday for helping him move. I have to say, casting in the yard I was suprised! Casting was smooth and the retrieve feels great. Other than the BPS logo on the frame it reminds me of a calcutta 8-). I've gotta a Johnny morris reel that Im going to try to rob the handle/drag star off tonight and see if they'll fit. The drag seems a little soft (which was a problem with BPS reels of that era), so I may look at doing a carbontex upgrade this winter. Let us know how you like it going forward

Mega strike has got competition !!!
The megastrike model is very close in design to a japanese plastic thats been around for some time.

done with yo zuri hybrid, any recommendations?
I work in the tower climbing industry and during osha training we are taught that a 200lb man falling 6' creates 2000 (yes a ton!) of force. When that 5+ fish flops he can approach double his weight in force. Combine that with the limited amount of stretch available on the few feet of line you have out, and you are not just going to break your line on a larger fish but you will also break a high graphite content rod quickly also. Yozuri Hybrid is among the best lines available. I have used it for 4 years fishing some honey hole farm ponds with over 100 fish over 6lbs and HAVENT BROKEN IT YET (in #10).

Curado 50
Man I'm trying so hard to resist pulling the trigger on one just yet...Do you plan on cleaning them to see if they'll loosen up a bit like you do with your 200 series models?

Citica or Curado
If you plan on throwing lipless baits often, get the 7:1, you will give yourself carpel tunnel trying to keep that 5:1 up burning a trap. Its much easier to slow down a fast reel as you said. If your gonna be throwing DD22's thats one thing, but if your throwing bandits or 1 minus type baits a 7:1 is fine. This is only my opinion though, you can always demo both from tackle wharehouse and try them for yourself.

My New Combo (:
I have the same 7'H bucoo mated to a curado and its the only combo I find myself using most of the time

whats the best senko rod under $125? (spinning)
The wife's getting pretty good with plastic stick baits and I'm treating her to a new combo for her birthday. Any reccomendations? I really like the falcon bucoos but havent heard much about their spinning rods.

Improving the Jackall Giron
Awesome man, cant wait to hear how it works out. I honestly have been disapointed with this bait so far.

Anyone ever use one of these?
The smaller blade dancers are great on the river. Let them flutter in the current into cover and hold on!

What is the WORST BAIT?
I dont know man I'll take a Cordell spot against ANY luckycraft lipless bait regardless of price.

Anyone Want to Share Their "Secret Lures"?
X2 Also makes a great finesse jig trailer 8-)

are trilene 100% and stren the same line?
A local tackle shop has 110 yard spools of stren for $2.99 (not a typo!). I picked a few up and am more than impressed. Its a great line so far. I know its been speculated that trilene and stren are the same, but does anyone know for sure?

sammy or spook?
I have had the opposite experience, I find the original and super spook very easy to walk. I don't care for how the Sammy sits in the water, every one I've fished sits close to vertical making it hard to initiate the walking action. I agree there's nothing easier to walk than a spook (maybe the rapala x walk). I didnt give the sammy a chance after I first purchased one years ago because of that tail down posture, but now I am a fan. You get better hookups plus I think that weight transfer system makes it cast better. Obviously its not gonna be your first choice to deadstick however. I'm seeing more and more topwaters that rest that way. KVD even tail weights certain lures to give them that action! I keep hearing good things about the H20 baits, too bad thers no academy round here.

sammy or spook?
I reach for a sammy in calmer water situations.I feel like every sammy other than the 85 is a waste of money. I have owned several of them all (except the really small one). And I think that because the contour of the belly is more dramatic due to the shorter length on this model it has an action the others dont have. The bigger bigger spooks are much more effective than the larger sammys in my hand. Just wish the looked a little more realistic, but hey they still work great!

what is your setup for a buzzbait?
An E7 mated with a 7H falcon bucoo. The rod is PERFECT for the 3/8 secret weapon buzzers I throw.

shad spawn lures?
Luckycraft sammy 85 in MS American Shad. I had a 50+ fish day 3 years ago casting this lure to pods of threadfin shad. This is a lure than can be really LAUNCHED and retrieved quickly, which I think is important when the shad spawn.

Transferring line from one reel to another?
I usually walk the line off the one spool out in the yard, then reel it up on the new reel. If you have the space to do it I think it helps. Never had the first issue with memory. (copoly and braid)

Tiny Brush Hog
I actually use them texas rigged with a pegged true tungstun weight for crappie. Its basically a weedless crappie jig, and VERY effective. The kentuckies here in the appomattoax like em also!

large profile jigs in a lighter weight
fishy---that is awesome! really neat design. You might have the answer. Wayne---I've tried that but most shakeyheads either have the wrong style head (Ball) or dont have a long enough (or the wire is not a heavy enough gauge). I'm open to any suggestions you might have though.

large profile jigs in a lighter weight
A certain lake I fishhas produced well for me with smaller jigs. The problem is the max weight I seem to be able to use and not get covered in the mung all over the bottum is 3/16 or so. I'd like to start using a few larger profile trailers, but the finesse jigs (s.k. bitsy bug, terminator tiny T, etc) I like dont have an adequate hook. I'm even considering having some custom made at this point. Can any of you reccomend anything?
