Question about my St Croix rods "usage &safety tips"
That’s a great graphic.

Dealing with USPS
I just had my third claim in 15 yrs and obviously ship a lot of packages. If you’ve ever been inside a parcel shipping facility you’d wonder how anything gets delivered just due to the shear volume. That’s not an excuse for poor handling just an observation.

Dealing with USPS
They all use the same material handling equipment. It’s just a crap shoot of who’s working when your package goes through.

Supertune ... a spinning reel?
I know it’s just semantics, but technically Super Tuning refers only too baitcasters. As to your inquiry, polishing the sliding surfaces of your spinning reel is perfectly safe as long as common sense is applied. Meticulous cleaning and lubrication by itself may yield similar results. All depends on what you’re starting with.

Need help with the concept of a rod’s sweet spot
The midrange of labeled specs is a good starting point but only time on the water can tell you for certain. Lure weight range, power, line rating and action are all subjective.

Casting reel not fully disengaging on cast
I want to say the line in the yoke is a manufacturing mark but canine certain with the resolution of the pic. If the reel has ever been apart be sure the yoke is right side up (bevels down). Baring that, deep cleaning would be my first step.

Does tip-action have *anything* to do with sensitivity? Having issues with my CNQ after NRX.
Part of the problem in this conversation is that some are speaking in absolutes. In the veritas example , the Mod fast may feel softer than the fast but that doesn’t mean it will be true of all or any other examples. Blank makers use a number of techniques to achieve power and action results. There’s no uniformity or standards for any labeled spec.

Casting Reel
I tested a Tatula CT for a shop customer this morning. Mh rod, 30# braid 1/2 oz bullet weight. It casted flawlessly with minimal user input with no spool tension and brakes set at 0, 10 and 20 with, into and cross wind. If I remember correctly they use the standard mag force brake.

Need some advice regarding a possible defective reel
I’d attempt a swap at the retailer, baring that warranty through Shimano.

Need help valuing my gear
60% of retail is my starting point for good condition pre owned tackle. Maybe 75% for NIB <60% for severe boat rash, in need of service etc

Brake type for lure type/weight
I don’t think lures matter as much as casting technique and preferences. I hate mag only brakes excluding Daiwa’s inductor design. The old Shimano 6 pin centrifugal setup is my favorite for control and set it forget it.

Ike biography
Anyone watched any of Iacanelli’s Never Give Up biographical web series? I’m kinda into it.

We don't want MORE FISHERMAN
If we don’t attract new people and younger generations to fishing, the resource will lose importance to the powers that be and we will all suffer those consequences. Sad but true.

BuyFishingShop.com
There are good JDM sites where you can save some with the currency exchange but not 50%+. And I feel ya as far as wishful thinking.

You pretty much answered your own question.

Pflueger President Malfunction
Spinning reel bails are a #1 contender for biggest PIA in reel service.
-
Pflueger President Malfunction
The purpose of the ramp on the frame isn’t to kept the rotor from turning, it hits the trip lever to close the bail by cranking. None of it has anything to do with oscillation.
-
Pflueger President Malfunction
If your symptoms started suddenly after reassembly it could be an easy fix. How old is the reel? I don’t remember off the top of my head if the oscillation gear is round or oblong on those. Wear shouldn’t do what you describe unless teeth are actually missing but it seems like you’d have seen that or feel really rough.

Uneven Line Spooling
Right , but I take issues with the unbalanced graphic. Drag washers don’t affect spool hight or line lay. Reeling against the drag creates line twist though.
-
Uneven Line Spooling
The reel should have come with a few thin plastic washers that fit on the main shaft under the spool. Add one, pull off as much line as possible and re-spool. If line stacked the other way you would remove a washer.

Least Expensive FIBERGLASS Bass Boat On The market
Everything pre owned is getting top dollar since there’s no inventory of new stuff.

Backlash, how long do you work...
Avoid the urge to tug hard tightening knots especially with braid. The “thumb trick” is the ticket. And taping the spool is a good hack. I do it when practicing skipping with only 50’ of line out.

Looking to build the lightest spinning rod possible
It’s hard to compare raw weights as each blank model has different dimensions. Even if they’re the same length and lure weight one might have a larger butt diameter. Couple tenths one way or the other isn’t a deal breaker and a slightly heavier one might score better on Micks resonance test. Use on the water is the only true test. Research and due diligence is important but you’re way overthinking this and could end up taking the joy out of the process. Good luck on your build.

Looking to build the lightest spinning rod possible
Gloomis doesn’t sell blanks anymore. The NFC x ray, Rodgeeks c4, St Croix SCV, Rainshadow Rx10 or leftover Eternity, PointBlank are all good. IMO grips are 90% cosmetic as little if any of the hand makes significant contact during the retrieve. I like the G2 and have used a lot of them.
