  1. There's the pic ☺️ sexy s.o.b...handle length same as bantam?
  2. yes, I'll surely add more myself...just truly a great stick for so many things...if i had space, i could easily have half a doz rigged with stuff and use them all
  3. 7' 3" is a sweet spot for me for that all a rounder versatile stick for that power and bait range...I have 1 Sierra 734 and 2 Champ XP 734c...I prefer the heavy F 1/4-1oz, I use them for a very wide range of baits/techniques...like how it loads and a bit more distance with the added few inches... 733c better for flukes if weightless rigged...if using a keel weighted hook/or small bullet weight in front of fluke 734 will work...733c is the better tool for flukes though/lighter weightless stuff...but depends where your tossing that fluke, may need that stick with a big more backbone/power even of it takes it bit more to toss it and not optimal...reel also comes into play with ability to throw not optimal baits on said stick...
  4. fyi; can get micro module brass gear sets for the Metaniums...Alum cuts weight, some people that split hairs it matters, to me it doesnt...for atleast one Metanium of mine, the brass gears will be installed...otherwise anything with a heavy workload, my Bantam MGL's are the workhorse ticket, oh ya brass gears along with the with core solid body frame
  5. In general I've never heard that for any place where there's been a restriction on inflatables on public waters unless its part of an HOA pond/lake or something along those lines...You have a specific example or site I can read where that's a regulation on a particular public lake/lakes?...Genuinely curious since this is the 1st time I've ever heard that for public waters...
  6. you're the best stick at all things and a legend in your own mind Catt...ya I said OUTLAND you vs your mono in my backwaters, I didnt stutter...only one thats laughing is you Chief... Spots/areas I fish on a regular basis, heavier cover than what you fish...you dont even know whats in that pic i posted...and what it is-is alot heavier than that lettuce you showed... to use Catts own words as he likes to blah blah pro this, blah blah pro that to back his ego up...how many Pros & Elites you see fish true heavy cover with mono? Ohhhh thats right, like bout zip zero zilch...
  7. good for you, you want a cookie?...you use that mono in my backwater veg, i guarantee that I out land you no way, say it aint so? ?
  8. didnt say it was impossible and wouldnt work/cant work, but whats the best tool for the froggin job?...I like to stack things in my favor whenever possible...why I said unless you have a reason to...since you do, and its your bass'n game you'll make do/make it work for ya the best you can... but thank goodness we've got modern line choices and not just stuck with mono...for example, you'd have ALOT of bad days fishin mono in my waters...
  9. you'd have ALOT of bad days fishin mono in my waters...
  10. unless you have a reason why you need to keep that mono on there, otherwise ditch it...froggin and mono shouldn't be in the same sentence...
  11. wonder how many even know that movie, classic!!
  12. if not going dedicated stick, a 765 stick will serve you well multi purposely...if you feel and impression im getting that what you'll be fishin is more on the moderate side & sparse of cover, than 50# braid (12#diameter mono equivalent) which will be a good multipurpose use choice as well and handles excellent on BC's very well...I use some type of HiVis, I like Sufix ghost & use PP yellow then I like to take a big green sharpie and color atleast a rod length or so...heavy cover is rough on line so check your line around where your rig is and retie when necessary...but you have all the "getting started" info, you know your body of water, you'll ultimately decide what you feel you need with having the right tools to get the job done...punch'n is another deal where you'll miss and lose a fair share, goes with the territory...can be frustrating as hell but equally rewarding way of getting them...its an adrenaline rush settin the hook and the chaos that follows gettin that fish up & out and in the boat...be patient, like anything theres a learning curve to be successful... people can disagree with me on aspects, but heavy cover punch'n is one technique that I do specialize in...Spend a day in my punchzilla jungle Mississippi river backwaters and I can prove everything I've said...learn to read cover as one would bottom structure...always be open minded and dont paint yourself into a box...Ive caught too many big fish in spots some would disregard and write off as low % targets...rules are always made to be broken in the world of bass'n... You are always free to message me anytime down the road if you have any questions...
  13. I agree Catt and an important part of the puzzle undoubtedly to know in relation to...appreciate the time you took to explain to OP some of those details...to an inexperienced/green basser with whatever method/technique need those tidbits...its easy to, as im guilty of myself at times explaining things assuming that the person knows what im conveying to the letter when i type it in black and white... different bodies/areas of waters have prime real estate high % productive structure with emergent/matted/submerged vegetation and theres also areas that have high % prime real estate that structure is irrelevant and can be equally productive pending and should not overlooked or will just sell yourself short... example, wind alone can make a structurally void non productive area highly productive...reading/locating prime real estate emergent/matted vegetation as it relates to punch'n or any heavy cover technique for that matter (excluding structure) is equally important as knowing and reading structure, it is unquestionably...at times it can be highly productive veg alone and at times it can be highly productive veg coupled with structure...both need experience and knowledge to understand to eliminate unproductive areas of either scenario, which can also change by the day or hour... Is seeking out structure in relation to emergent vegetation/mats to narrow down the field one of my given priorities, most certainly...but I know/able to read & understand both together and know/able to read vegetation itself...I wouldnt be as successful as I am if I couldnt and unable to decipher when, where & what is worthy of a toss...there is always other X factors that can change the rules... this pic is 1 example from a body of water I now very well inregards to vegetation and structure wise...the pic is prime real estate cover, high % punch target where I know structure is irrelevant...areas I fish, countless like spots among others where species of different emergent veg meets other varieties and/or mats...same high % situations if throwing a jig, frog or whatever to look for on the water applies...where at times, structure plays no part in the decision to fish it but the vegetation does dictate the decision to...
  14. I have 4 potential punch sticks at my disposal, but 2 usually set up for other things...1 805, 2 @ 766 and a 736...the 736 is a multi use normally its my main dedicated frog stick but can easily double as a puncher and jigs and have used it for such...other 766 multi purpose also... Bantam mgls and Abu Rockets are the 2 reels i use...8:1 Bantams & 9:1 Rockets with drags locked down...sufix 832 is what I prefer for punchin, dedicated jig and frog sticks...PP for most other things... I live in the heavy jungle slop and always have 2 dedicated punch sticks with 2 weight sizes...normal summer heavy veg, 766 will usually have a 1.25oz on it and 805 always has a 2oz...there are spots where one or the other is a better choice and makes me more efficient having 2 punch rigs set up to quickly switch off...sometimes tungs with skirts, sometimes without...punchin is one of my bread and butters and i do ton of it... places I fish have endless acres of lotus fields, monster heavy thick slop mats, cattails, duckweed, arrow head, pencil reeds, eel grass, common water reed, various other types of pads which can be more or less all blended together with most every type of submerged veg that grows underneath...quite a variety all in the general same locals...spots so heavy even tossing a 2oz up in the air and still not make it through a mat...
  15. ...I'll say this; is something i've said to myself and is of no offense...but ignorance is bliss and cheaper on the pocket book...atleast for me, once I crossed the line with sticks and reels, ignorance was no longer bliss and cost myself thousands haha...the same thing happens to many of us and will continue for countless others...no one starts out with $3-400.00 dollar on up reels and 3,4,$500.00+ sticks...its progressive like any thing else/sport you become more & more passionate about and experienced with...and no one is to tell you or others how you should/shouldnt spend your earned cash (excluding significant other) do people start out their mountain biking passion with carbon fiber bikes or golfers with a bag full of high end clubs etc...? most certainly not, its progressive...
  16. it is a legit worry...unless I was rolling in the cash and could afford it just because to have all my arsenal top shelf which isnt the case here, so only my bottom contact sticks will I spend that kind of money...for moving baits, its unnecessary going that route and well down the list of importance on my scale... reels are different story with me, I love the performance and feel of high end reels...Id put a 400.00 reel on a 100.00 stick before Id saddle a 100.00 reel on a 400.00 stick...
  17. quick answer is yes on both accounts, more sensitive blanks help a blind man feel what the terrain is and can change how you may be presenting the jig or whatever pending, or fouled out for that matter...blank, line and thumb/finger all play a part...and many times, the biggest of girls can have the most subtle bite/pick up etc...you wouldnt even know if missed a fish or not...bait when in and spit back out before you felt anything or ever aware it happened...that scenario can still can happen with high end blanks...but the more dead the stick, the more you're gonna miss and didnt even know it and/or made you too late pulling the trigger...
  18. how its possible BaitFinesse? simple, same as it is to palm & pitch a jig using a lefty reel with rod in right arm...but thanks anyways for telling me what i should and shouldnt do with my inexperienced self...
  19. not sure how your BC technique is BaitFinesse but when im casting or pitch'n using a lefty my hand is palming and same position...
  20. This was the same 6er I caught ironically 6 days apart...the 1st time 6.12#'s, 2nd time 6.30#'s...caught her in the exact same spot on the very same swimjig and trailer...
  21. Whats the make/model of that front backrest you got? well hell, now I might need/want more than one type pending...
  22. I do stand except for retying or whatever but on my usual long grind days, theres times Id like something to lean on from time to time...that 2nd millenium seat in my previous post is dual purpose with the rounded front to lean but can sit if needed and likely the one i'll look at getting... the other I was considering is the millenium b300...can sit also but would straddle like a horse saddle...a short vid where gerald swindle talks about it and why he prefers it for rough water (not a sponsor of his either)...dudes a hoot though haha
  23. also kinda nice about the Milleniums of whichever style...if you look on the sides they have machines holes nice to hang plyers, scale, cutters or whatever to have handy...
