  1. Wayne that looks like a neat idea.I'll have to give that a shot.
  2. fellow meat cutter at Kroger Wifes step daddy and my best friend from high schools dad. and ongoing Bass Resource
  3. I like the revos and the curados.I would say go to a tackle dealer that stocks several types of reels and see how each one feels maybe try them on a rod like you have.I bought a Revo S not so long ago and it was agreat starter real for about a hundo$Of course my local Gander Mountain just had the Daiwa Steez 103 for under $300 dollars (brand new but last years model). This would be the nicest Reel for you
  4. X2 also in the summer when lightning is in the forecast and I can't fish.
  5. G. loomis super lite super sensitive split grips( not to copy the trend but to outshine the competition)lol largemouth caught over 24#(and approved) KVD Elite series Angler of the Year...... again. oh and the most certain of all.............. Bass Resource the best fishing website (no doubt)
  6. Maybe spool them both up with the floro and put each one on the finesse rod and see which one works better for you.Practice with each one with one may feel better to you for the technique.Palmability will vary person to person so, I would guess the easiest for you to palm would be the best.I like how my revo palms for me,but You may like the daiwa. Also one may balance better on your rod.Thats the nice thing about having different rods and reels, you can always switch up your setups,I find myself changing things of course I'm still kind of a beginner at bass fishing.
  7. Wayne great shots and detail.I live in Hardy near Smith Mountain Lake.If my fishin buddy and myself head to Briery this Spring can you help us find some fish.We went for the first time there this October and managed to catch a few but that lake is so different to what I'm used to every place looks like it would hold fish. All the vegetation and trees look so enticing we got a little overwhelmed by it.
  8. First let me say I'm a FSU fan I think Charlie Ward was our best ever. But,I really think that Tim Tebow(I'm sure people will beat this comment up )could be the best ever.3 time Heisman finalist(now he may not be the best at his position)but this guy is ridiculous. He's a natural leader, good decision maker, good maneuverability and a good passer.I could give stats too, but setting school rushing records is not really a QB thing. All this coming from a FSU gator hater. :-?
  9. I hate this store-bought crap that is overly moist and soft. (if i wanted that, i'd eat a cookie)
  10. I have not ordered from this site. However to be safe one could always use a gift card-credit card.I would not want anyone to get swindled but thought that I would share a deal.
  11. I use a dehydrator.Butb I saw on "GOOD EATS" Alton Brown used a 20"window fan he layed it on a table with the side that blows out up.He placed a home furnace filter (not fiberglass)20"x20"on top.He layed his marinated strips of beef in the grooves after paper towel drying them.He put 3 or 4 filters with meat on them layered on the fan. Then he bungeed them to the fan and stuck them in an open window blowing outside(so as not to fill the house with dried meat smell)for 8-12 hours. He said a regular dehydrator cooks the meat and that his way made better jerky because he truly dries it out. Here is the link to the recipe and instructions*note*I have never tried this.http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/beef-jerky-recipe/index.html
  12. Fuego is a better reel but you wouldn't want the salt from the sinkos to get on the Mg frame salt +Mg = bad
  13. First let me say that I only buy from TW but with all the rquestions about Vendetta rods just do what I did.Do a google search for Abu Vendetta then click shopping. There are several listings for them under $60.I cannot post the link because there are several models and If you go to the site that has them you cannot find them using the search. They also have berkley shocks for under $35 I strongly advise doing a Google search for any tackle and clicking shopping.I have no connections to google or the sites that have these rods I just wanna share a great deal like the rest of you fine posters.
  14. the plastic worm(always have one tied on)roboworm straight tail to be exact
  15. shimano metanium Mg DC daiwa steez STZ711HFBA sunline 12# machine gun Heck i'd like to fish it for a day
  16. I'm a Redskins fan too and both of us think that they can "roll over"and "play dead" as a team. The O line can "sit"and "stay"and our return guys and recievers can "drop it"I say GOOD DOGGY
  17. not gonna touch the comments on this.but..... I always start with the base of 1 cup soy sauce 1 cup worcestershire sauce 2 tsp liquid smoke 4 pinches Kosher salt Then i'll add crushed red pepper, onion powder and garlic powder to taste. If you like teriyaki use 2/3 cup of that in place of 2/3 of the soy and 1/4 cup pineapple juice. For beef i only marinate for 1 hour for venison overnight because the salts seem to kill the gaminess. However, the other day my bro killed a deer I had a bottle of Allegro tm hot and spicy marinade (I did not have any soy sauce or liquid smoke at home)The Allegro tm was delicious Everyone liked it. I have a recipe for mustard biscuits too mmmmmhmmmm.
  18. I know this is an old thread but I fish Smith mountain lake.Because of my work schedule it's usually a day or 2 during the week or in the evenings.
  19. You're doing a good thing in this.If you get him a spinning combo you can teach him to use it.(If the bonding thing works for you).If you ain't into bonding I have a concrete life jacket [one size fits all ]for him that I'll sell you .A berkley lightning rod is inexpensive for decent quality.(I still have one i crappie fish with 15 years old)Then maybe a mitchell reel or shimano.(all of these they sell at Wally world).Even the less expensive shimanos last a long time.
  20. I had a revo s and i loved it.I threw it in the lake tho .I had cold fingers and it sank out of sight before I could reach it.I'd love to have it back.
