Most Versatile Swimbait Line
Thanks for all the suggestions! I recently placed an order with TW, I got a few more swimbaits and also ordered a spool of 25lb Sunline Defier Armilo. I will give that a try first since its on the way. If I end up not liking it I can try the Izorline or Maxima, I have heard good things about them.

Swimbait Rod?
What size swimbaits are you planning on throwing? And how heavy are they? We need to know to recommend a good rod. I currently have an iRod Genesis II Fred's Magic Stick for smaller swimbaits up to 6" and up to 2-2 1/2 oz. and it is perfect for those sizes. (Both Hard and Soft swimbaits). The other rod I have is a 7'11" Mattlures Swimbait rod rated for up to 6 oz baits 6-8" in size Let us know what you are planning on throwing and we can help you out further.

Big Game Question
Thanks for all the answers! This line will be backing! To be honest I only bought this color because its neon green, one of my favorite colors. I knew I was going to use it for backing, I was just curious how it was for a main line.

Big Game Question
This is kind of random, but recently purchased some Big Game 25lb in Solar Collector. Its a bright neon green line. Originally I bought it as a cheap backing for my reels and now I'm wanting to try it as a main line. My question is, has anyone used this color and is it visible underwater? I was thinking of using it for swimbaits, but if it is too visible it'll be relegated to only backing.

Most Versatile Swimbait Line
Thank you for the insight. I have actually used straight braid, braid with a leader of 20lb CXX, and Straight 20lb CXX. I have heard great things about Big Game and may want to try that. But I think for versatility's sake I may want to go with a good copoly. To answer your question about where I will be fishing, I fish city park lakes with little structure or cover. They probably do not go deeper that 10ft, and the only thing that I would be dragging swimbaits through is submerged vegetation and broken tree branches and some rock. I would like a line that I can easily walk the dog with Lunker Punker type lures, swimming slow sinking swimbaits, and bottom contact Hudds. Is there a line that you or anyone would suggest that could handle the above mentioned situations? Thanks.

Most Versatile Swimbait Line
Going to be spooling up a Daiwa Lexa 300 for tossing 8-10" swimbaits. What is an all around good line for topwater, mid depth, and bottom contact swimbaits?

Norman Scorpion
I have a few, they swim great and put off a good vibration. They also rest standing up and dont fall over if I remember correctly. Havent caught anything on them yet so I can attest to how setting the hook on them are. But I will continue to fish them and report back when I do catch a bass on one.

Best Swimbait
Throw in a 6" BBZ-1 Trout, an S-Waver, 6" Savage Gear Line Thru 3D as well

Best Bait For Spawning Bass
Mattlures Flat Tail U2 Bluegill. They sit nose down, tail up like a feeding bluegill. Don't limit yourself to just bluegill baits, I have had hits on suspending jerkbaits just hovering over the bed. Also I have had hits on Trout Swimbaits just sitting on the beds as well. Mix it up a bit, see what really ticks them off and they will hit it hard!

What's This New Rig Called The Drop Shot?
Go grab some Roboworms and have at it!

What's This New Rig Called The Drop Shot?
Not at all. I bank fish city park lakes and the drop shot is a very effective presentation for the high pressured city park lakes.

Irod Fiber Series
I have already posted about the iROD Genesis II Fred's Magic Stick asking about if it would be a good finesse swimbait rod and have gotten some good responses. I just saw on TW that they have a new line of value driven rods called the Fiber Series. I was curious if the 7'5" Heavy model is pretty much the same blank as Fred's Magic Stick just with cheaper components. If this is the case, I will be picking up this model instead of Fred's Magic Stick. Does anyone have any input or experience with the Fiber Series line of rods? Thanks.

Slide Off Weed Guard
I'm interested in these weedguards too, they may work out very well for my top hook swimbaits. Just need more reviews or real wold experience with them.

Orra Winch
I am looking to put together a finesse swimbait setup. I have looked around for different reels and came across the Orra Winch. It is a Low Profile reel (which i would prefer for this setup) with a deep spool. I will be throwing swimbaits (6" BBZ, 6" Hudds, 6" Mattlures Tournament Trout, Black Dog G2 Shellcracker, etc.) around 2oz or less with it. Have any of you used this reel for this purpose? If you have how did the lower ratio gearing work for swimbaiting? Or could you guys suggest another low profile reel for these lighter swimbaits?

Irod Genesis Ii Fred's Magic Stick
Thanks for the answers so far! What swimbaits do you guys throw on this rod? And does the rod handle weights slightly over 2oz?

New Yum Line Of Baits
Just picked up their Drop Shot specific line of baits. The Killshot, Sharpshooter, and Warning Shot. They all look awesome and I cannot wait to see how they perform. The Killshot and Warning Shot both resemble the Jackall Cross Tail Shad with the round body and flat bottom. The Sharpshooter looks like a finesse worm with a cut tail/flat tail that looks like it would produce some good action. Ill let you guys know how it goes when I test them out.

Why Is Morning Dawn Such A Good Color?
Thanks for the answers so far, but out of curiosity, I know that bass have a limited range of color recognition. So does the Morning Dawn color look different to bass than how we see it?

Irod Genesis Ii Fred's Magic Stick
Looking to get another swimbait setup for smaller 6-7" or less swimbaits approx. 2oz and under, Fred's Magic Stick seems to fit the bill with the specs. Has anyone used this rod, has this rod, that could let me know if it is a good rod for this purpose? Thanks.

Why Is Morning Dawn Such A Good Color?
Hey guys, this is my first post after a long time away and a long time not fishing. I just recently started fishing again and the bait monkey has me by the balls... I have never tried the Morning Dawn color for worms, I usually use Green Pumpkin, Oxblood, Bold Bluegill, Aarons Magic, and Tequila Sunrise for Roboworms on a Drop Shot. I just recently have been reading up on some colors and Morning Dawn was touted as a color that works almost everywhere. So my question is: What is it about Morning Dawn that makes it such a great color? Thanks in advance!

Fat Ika Problem
What I found helps with the rigging (I rig it backwards, skirt forward) is to use the seam as a guide and take the EWG and insert the hook point in through the skirt section and bring it back out at the first few ribs and then bend the Ika to get the proper hook positioning then insert the hook back into the Ika (again using the seam as a guide) and take note of which rib I inserted the hook and make sure that it comes out the same rib on the opposite side along the seam, then embed the hook point back into the Ika to make it weedless.

Need More Bites
Yeah, pretty much. I fish from the banks as well, at local park lakes. I have found that just making a long cast around a 45 degree angle to the shore works the best. After the cast, I reel up the slack and start dragging and bouncing the worm with the rod tip. You want to maintain the feel of the bottom with the drop shot weight, I usually use a 3/16-1/4oz. cylinder or teardrop weight. Every know and then I will just let the worm just sit there and jiggle it a little and sit again before I continue dragging it back. Hope this explains how I fish it! Let us know how you do!

Need More Bites
If you are fishing spinning gear, try a drop shot rig. I fish city park lakes a lot and they get tons of pressure, I am able to get a couple bites sporadically with a drop shot. I also use Roboworms and more recently the Big Bite Baits Shaking Squirrel worms. Colors: Robos- Aarons Magic, Bold Bluegill, Oxblood Light Red Flake BBB Shaking Squirrel- Oxblood Red Flake, Earthworm Drop shot rigs are always good for a tough bite.

Things Bass Fisherman Say...
When fishing a Hudd or Spro and I pull it out of the water when kids are around- "FISH! FISH! He caught a fish!" I say, "Its not a fish, its a lure... Don't touch it, it has a sharp hook(s)..." Fisherman to another- "Dude, what are you throwing?" "Have you tried the new [insert lure here], they are sick!" "Check out the Wal-mart special that guy is using..."(referring to the 8ft+ XXXH White Saltwater Spinning combo)
