Fishing Tubes
If you guys are fishing tubes with the internal jig head (Stupid Tube Rig) and get that spiral fall, do you all use a spinning set up for this or do you use casting gear? I'm looking to try tubes for a different presentation where I fish and rarely if ever see people throwing them.

This Lure Great For Multi Species
Never used one, but if I am in the mood to just catch fish regardless of the species in the lake, I'll drop shot a tiny powerbait trout worm or throw a Strike King bitsy minnow. I can catch, small bass, bluegill, redear sunfish, crappie...

Spinnerbait Trailer Questions
I have never used a trailer on a spinnerbait. But I always have a trailer hook on them. Also I trim the outer layer of the skirt flush with the hook bend of the main hook and leave the inner strands long to hide the trailer hook. It also gives the spinnerbait more of a baitfish profile, and helps with the flair of the skirt.

The reason for the long leader is that im lazy and dont want to retie another leader when it gets too short. The other reason for the long leader is that I fish at city park lakes that get hammered by every type of fishermen (the walmart saltwater rod guys, bamboo rod carp guys, catfish bucket brigade, and the upside down spinning reel guys...). I feel that I need to use a leader long enough to hide the Tracer Braid im using (because i think it looks cool) also to avoid having to retie a leader back at my car. I also have been trying to cut down on tackle and just carry one small plano in a cargo pocket in my shorts and one rod. There also isnt much cover to pitch to, but there are walkways that adjoin islands in the lake that i like to pitch under, or if I see surface commotion i'll pitch to that for a quiet approach. So when I pitch, its more for stealth than to cover. I hope i explained my situation to you guys so you may better see where i'm coming from and be able to suggest something. Favorite Weighted Swimbait Hook With Screw Lock?
Moaner Hooks are pretty good as well. The weighted Stroker hooks are what I use mainly. Also they have a weighted Stick'r hook which is essentially a flipping hook with a screwlock and a weight close to the hook eye. And a weighted Swimmin Stick'r which is the same hook but weight further down the shank. I have all of them but have not used the Stick'r yet. If i need a bigger gap, then I turn to the weighted Owner Beasts.

Pitching With Braid And Flouro Leader
Lately I have been having issues with the connector not between braid and fluoro. I use the Alberto knot with 7-8 wraps up and 7-8 wraps down. I have been using 40lb braid and 15lb fluoro. The knot tends to stop at the 2nd or Tip guide and ruins the pitch and causes a minor backlash. Do you guys have any suggestions on how to keep this from happening? I also use about a two rod length leader that stops just before the line guide on the reel when I hang my lure from the hook hanger. Thanks in advance!

Squarebill Crankbaits Confuse Me
I have actually caught a few bass in city park lakes (its all I fish) and they have little to no cover to deflect off of. No wood or stumps, rocks, etc. I just cast and reel with a few pauses to let it rise or a few quick rips of the rod. Or I just try to grind the bottom of the lake and see what happens...

I'm using Sunline Sniper FC 7lb. So far I like the sensitivity... BTW I usually take a wingspan or two then tie to braid with an alberto knot.

I understand the concept of the EWG's and the hook bend, I just wanted to know if those three sizes aforementioned would suffice for all the baits listed above. I'm not going to use a 1/0 for an Fat Ika... I was just trying to stay away from having so much terminal tackle.

I want to start fishing soft plastics more, I have a wide assortment of hooks (1/0,2/0,3/0,4/0,5/0), but I want to start to downsize my tackle. Could I get away with just using 1/0, 3/0, and 5/0 wide gaps? Soft plastics will be ranging from: 5" Senkos Fat Ika's 3-5" Fluke style baits 3-5" Creatures/Craws 6-10" Ribbontails 4-6" Paddletail Swimbaits And while I'm on the topic, the same goes for Offset Round Bend Hooks as well. What are your opinions? Thanks.

That being said, all my rods are black with either red, grey, or green highlights and I like my reels to match. I just ordered a couple, one light and one dark. Both ROF 12, I saw a video review that with the ROF 5 you have to really slowly crawl them or they will rise too fast and swim on their side. Ordered a few days ago by the way, I was watching the timer on the site and when it hit zero, I placed the order... Cant wait to get them, wont be till after the spawn though...

Irod Genesis Ii 7' Hf
I have been thinking about downsizing my fishing rod arsenal. I have been looking at the iRod Genesis II 7' HF because i was interested in one all around good rod that can multi-task. The ratings are 1/4 - 1 1/4 oz., 10-20lb line, Fast action. This seems to cover the multitude of weights and lures that I predominantly use. I was thinking to use this for lipless cranks, spinnerbaits, jigs, worms/creatures/jerkbaits, chatterbaits, small swimbaits, and frogs. Does anyone have this model in particular and how does it fish? I have the 7'5" Fred's Magic Stick and love how light and sensitive it is, so I am a believer in the iRod Genesis Series. What are your thoughts on my idea for one general duty rod? Thanks.

3:16 Mission Fish Rigging
As the title says... I have heard of bending the hook point out to the left or right, and/or up. Does this help significantly? Also has anyone ever tried to use a straight shank flipping hook to rig a Mission Fish? I was just thinking with how the hook rides it may actually increase the hookup ratio. Thoughts? Thanks!

What's This New Rig Called The Drop Shot?
The weight does not need a knot. You just "wedge" the line in the clip and friction takes over. Also the reason being that you don't need a knot is that if the weight gets hung up you can just pull and it will pop off and you just attach another weight the same way.

Mitchell 300Pro Spinning Reel
Does anyone have any experience with this reel? I have been looking for a decent cheaper reel for a general purpose spinning combo that can handle drop shots, senkos, scroungers, and other finesse applications.
