  1. For the eeliminators, what is an all around good color for them? I have the Blue Pearl Black Flake and I haven't c-rigged em yet nor have I gotten bit rigging any other way...
  2. I'd have to agree on the Fiskars kid scissors. They are cheap and work. But if you dont want a pair of kid scissors, I think any Fiskars brand scissors will work.
  3. I am almost positive that FoodSource baits are biodegradable, and also I believe that they are made from natural materials not soft plastic. This probably makes them environmentally safe. http://www.tackletour.com/reviewfsfoodstick.html
  4. The bass should be spawning soon at the lake I fish and would like to know what you guys think about trailers on white jigs for bed fishing. I have read elsewhere that trailerless is the way to go because the bass will pick up the whole jig as opposed to the trailer. But on the flip side I don't feel that a jig without a trailer is very enticing... What do you guys think? And what else do you guys like to use on beds? Thanks!
  5. A few more... Top: Oompa Loompa Hot Mess Crawlie Sheen Bottom: Samurai Mud Bug Dead Bluegrass
  6. Just came up with a few more... Top: Brass Monkey Pig Sticker Bottom: Minnesota Craw Lunker Hunter
  7. Top: MC Slammer Natural Born Killer Bottom: Hot Belly Craw Clone Trooper Craw Hammer Thats all I got for now...
  8. What kind of wire do you use for tying the skirts?
  9. Just came up with a couple more... Cross Section Vibe Shad And does anyone know when this little competition will end so we can find out the winner?
  10. Thought of a few more. Shad Cross Drop Cross Shad Cross Drops X Drop
  11. Based on the fact that it is a drop shot bait, how about: 1. Shad Drops 2. Crossover Shad 3. Drop Tail Shad 4. Shot Tail Shad Hope I helped and win those baits look good!
  12. I wish I had a tackle shop that stocked them... I had to order some and they are back ordered. I probably won't be getting them for a while...
  13. Agreed ib, I think riverrat is talking about a stingray grub, I see... It has the same shape, but I hardly think that it is a knockoff. If anything it is a reinvention of that lure. I have seen the video on the Devil Spear and the tail action of it is amazing, that is why I have ordered some. I have yet to see a bait with a tail that moves like that. I think the only knockoff about it is the LFT bait ribs that give them their action. Even then LFT does not have a bait that moves like that. All their action is in the body. So it may be just a lure that has taken ideas from others and making it its own. Usually knockoffs are something that is basically identical. I doubt the stingray grubs move like Devil Spear.
  14. What is the Devil Spear a knockoff of? I have never seen anything like it before. It looks like a craw body with no appendages except for the spear tail with the ribs that make it move. The only thing similar in my opinion would be the LFT Magic Shad, but that is a completely different bait. Please enlighten me, I would like another option because the Devil Spears that I ordered are back ordered and dont know when I'll be seeing them...
  15. I am a little confused on this because I have both high speed(7.1:1) reels and standard speed(6.4:1) reels and don't really notice much of a difference. I have researched it and done the math that there is about a 3-3.5" IPT on the HS vs Standard. Does that extra 3-3.5" IPT really make that much of a difference? Thanks is advance for any and all help!
  16. Thanks for all the advice, the higher end Abu's are not really in my budget, that is why I was thinking about another SX or S. Based on the responses, I will be picking up another SX. As Hammer4 stated that faster reels do have a place in swimbaiting, I now have another dilemma... Do I pick up another SX-HS or get a regular speed SX? And I'm looking at the 2009 Revo SX's not the red and black 2010's.
  17. I am a fan of the Revo line. I have the 2010 SX on a 6'6" M/F Vendetta that I use for cranks, weightless plastics, a Daiwa Exceler HS on my 6'6" MH/XF that I use for throwing worms, jigs, and spinnerbaits. And currently a 2009 SX-HS on a 7'10" MH/F BPS Nitro Big Bass Rod for swimbaits. I want to put the HS Revo SX on my worm rod and I want to get a slower speed reel for the swimbaits, would you guys suggest either the S or SX, or stick with all SX's and why? Im tossing baits 2oz and under.
  18. Im always at Tri City these days... Honestly its a tough lake, it gets hammered by every type of fisherman. Trout, Carp, Cats, and the upside down spinning reel guys... Lately, I have been tossing swimbaits and the bites are few and far between. I caught a 3.12 just last week, and a good 4 a month or two ago. I would suggest a finesse approach, slow and methodical. Try dropshotting a roboworm in aarons magic or bold bluegill. Thats all I am gonna divulge for now. If you see me there stop by and say whats up, I may tell you a little bit more...
  19. Thanks for the help! I just ordered a pack of 3/0 and 5/0 flipping hooks. Im not really gonna be flipping with them, Im just getting a little irritated with skin hooking baits with an EWG and having the hook point tear the back of the bait... I think the flipping hooks will solve this problem since you don't skin hook the point.
  20. Im interested in picking up some flipping hooks because of what I have read about their hook up percentages. I have a variety of soft plastics and do not want to pick up a bunch of different sizes. What are the best all around sizes for baits like the Big Bite Baits Fighting Frog, Baby Rage Craw, Rage Craw, Jackall Sasuteki Craw, Rage Hawg? Im thinking a pack of 3/0 and a pack of 5/0 would cover my needs, what do you all think? Thanks in advance!
  21. I would have to put my vote in for the 3:16 Mighty Minnows, they swim amazing at slow speeds and work the upper end of the water column. They also look realistic and cast very well weightless. http://316lurecompany.com/images/lures/minnow/mmhitch.jpg
  22. I second the "Bold Bluegill" color! I use the 4.5" Straight Tails, 4.5" Curly Tail, 4.5" Fat Straight Tails, and they all have produced for me! My best producing color. I want to try the 5.5" Textured Curly Tails too...
  23. I have a pair of Bomber Clear sunglasses that run for $7.95 that are impact resistant that I picked up for when I use power tools. I never thought about eye protection at night until now. Even though I shore fish I have had my fair share of snags and lures flying right back at me. I may start taking these with me at night... Here is the link: http://www.bombersunglasses.com/product_info.php?cPath=24&products_id=53
  24. For anyone throwing the weedless Hudds, or the the regular Hudds and other top hook swimbaits. If the bait swims leaning to one side here are some tips to correct that. Weedless Hudd: Make sure the hook pocket opening is not torn. If it is torn glue it back shut making sure that your bait is dry, any water in this pocket will make it lean. This will "reset" the air pocket on the inside of the bait that makes it swim and sit upright. Regular Hudd, Top Hook swimbaits: Whichever way it is leaning when it swims, hold the body just under the hook and twist the hook the opposite direction that it is leaning. This will reposition the internal weight and make the bait swim upright again. Hope this helps some of you, because it has definately helped me!
  25. The rod that I have is a 7'10" Bass Pro Nitro Big Bass Rod MH/F rated 3/8-2oz and it works great for the SPRO BBZ 6" and 6" Weedless Hudds and 6" Lunker Punkers it really hucks em out there. I just dont want to go too much outside the rod ratings for fear of snapping it... But thank for the suggestion, I will definately be looking into those Stockers. I have a limited tackle budget and dont really want to be spending over $25 on swimbaits. Considering I have already lost two SPRO's to the lake I fish due to snags.
