Which one catches the fish?
You are all wrong! In my vast knowledge of a little over one year of bass fishing, Im a seasoned pro at jig fishing. Everyone with half a brain knows that the line tie on the jig is what attracts the fish! But seriously... I feel that it is the combination of the skirt and trailer as a unit that really catches the attention of bass. Just my opinion...

Spinner Bait
I believe that you are thinking about the War Eagle spinnerbaits. They feature that same skirt design that you described. I use War Eagle Finesse spinnerbaits that have the same skirt just smaller. Or you can just flip the skirt around on regular spinners to get that same look. No trailer just trailer hook. On another note the Strike King Rocket Shad spinnerbaits are a good little finesse spinner as well. I just tweak them a bit. I take off the double hook that is on there and put on a Gammy Siwash Open eye hook in size 1 and pinch the eye shut with pliers. The hook moves around like the megastrike strikeback spinner so you dont loose fish. I have never lost a fish on this setup(no trailer hook needed).

Favorite Jigs with Trailers
Mine would have to be a Booyah Baby Boo Jig 1/4oz with a BOSS creature skirt in okeechobee craw and a Rage Tail Baby craw in okeechobee craw. I have had more hits and fish landed on this jig than any other that I own... It could also be that I am the most confident in this jig... who knows...

Scrounger in staind water?
the water i fish is perpetually green, with about 2ft min visibility. i have gotten bit numerous times on the scrounger with a zoom tiny fluke as a trailer, and recently found the lunker city fin-s-shads that are far more realistic. so go throw that scrounger!

Buzzbait color help?
What do you guys think an all around buzzbait color and weight would be that would work in the daytime as well as night? I have been looking at the 1/4oz Cavitron Ghost Minnow Gold Blade or the 1/4oz Cavitron black on black. Or should I get the Ghost Minnow color and bring a black replacement skirt for night time? Thanks for the help in advance!

Moaner Hooks... Cheap, strong, and sharp!
I had a decent day of fishing, I broke my dink streak. I was using the new moaner hooks that I have previously reviewed, and stuck a fish on an ika with a 5/0 stroker hook. 6'6 MF Vendetta 10lb. Vicious Fluoro. Felt the tap, tap, then BAM slam the hook home, easily penetrated the bass' jaw and held tight till I got it in. So now I can attest to the quality and the sharpness and holding power of these hooks. I highly recommend them. p.s. the bass shook the ika off the hook

Tungsten question
Cant speak for the bigger weights, but I use 1/16, 1/8, 3/16oz weights and they all have the insert. I have not noticed any fray in my lines and I use 10lb flouro and 30lb braid. The inserts are meant to protect your line. The only thing that I have heard about the inserts is that they hamper the sensitivity, but I really have not noticed a difference. So I think you are good to go with the heavier weights.

Missed jig bite follow up bait?
Thanks for all the answers so far. So what I have gathered is that for the missed fish, either just leave the jig where the hit was and hopefully it will come back again, or wait a few hours and work the jig the same way. Now for the follow up baits, do most of you use craws for a follow up or something completely different?

Missed jig bite follow up bait?
Tonight I missed a fish on a jig, what do all of you use for a follow up? And if the fish was actually brought up to the surface and then came off the jig, what are the chances of getting it to bite the jig again or biting a follow up bait?

Moaner Hooks... Cheap, strong, and sharp!
Yep, thats what I was throwing them on today. They also appear to have no gap at the hook eye, possibly even welded shut.

Moaner Hooks... Cheap, strong, and sharp!
I just recently found out about Moaner Hooks, so I decided to order some. Upon initial inspection these hooks appear to be the real deal, and feature a hitchhiker clip. Strong, sharp, and easy on the wallet. They fit rage tail baits perfectly. This company also sells weighted swimbait hooks as will as shakey heads. Their line of hooks are called Stroker Hooks, both weighted and unweighted. The shakey jigs are called Stiffy jigs and have a hitchhiker clip instead of the normal peg or screwlock. All in all I am very impressed with these hooks and would like to try the whole line, I would say they are comparable to Owners(w/o the cutting point) and Gamakatsu's. I have only fished them once, so there will be more to come on the hooking and holding process when I fish again. I have no doubts that these will produce for me. So if any of you are looking for top of the line hooks without the top of the line price, check out Moaner Hooks. www.moanerhooks.com

Anyone Want to Share Their "Secret Lures"?
Drop shotting a small Creme trout worm (3.75") wacky rigged in the natural or live color (they go for a buck for bag of four). I have caught bass of all sizes with this setup. The biggest was about 3lbs. (which is good for the city lake i fish...)

Grass Minnow
I actually landed a fish using the grass minnow the other day. I felt it bite and immediately swung for the fences and got him in the corner of the mouth. So now I am convinced of the effectiveness of the grass minnow. Now I need to get more...

Wave Worm Tiki Monkey/gorilla

bass deeply hooked
I recently caught a bass, when I pulled it out of the water I removed my hook and noticed that there was another hook in its throat. At first I didnt know what to do, there was clotted blood all over one side of its gill, and I could see the hook point protruding from that same gill. Then I realized there was a topic on how to remove hooks from the throat. I did the through the gill method and backed the hook out its throat and carefully pulled the hook out the gill so it wouldnt catch anything and hurt the fish further.

Polarized Sunglasses?
Polarized glasses really do help, when I first started fishing I wore regular sunglasses, and when I switched to polarized glasses... WOW! you can see right through the water, they eliminate the surface glare so you can see through the water easier. As for cheap decent polarized sunglasses, I have found a pair of Berkley sunglasses in the fishing section of Walmart and they were about $5. They are actually the best pair of cheap sunglasses I own, I wear them everyday.

North American Fishing Club, Scam or Legit?
Got a letter from the North American Fishing Club in the mail asking to join. The benefits are being able to test out products and keep them, a magazine subscription, etc. Have any of you joined this club or is it a scam? Thanks!

Kastmaster for Bass?
Im used to getting skunked there... So you definately feel my pain. A couple days ago I finally caught a decent bass(~2lbs.) off the Hudd Grass Minnow, I usually miss fish on it cuz its a little tough to get a good hookset with those. At least if you look at it this way, if you can catch fish in HIGHLY pressured city lakes, you can catch fish almost everywhere.

Kastmaster for Bass?
Things are always tough at tri city... I just wanted to try something different. I can only catch the little scrappers consistently. The bigger ones are the tough ones. But thanks for the answer!

Kastmaster for Bass?
Have any or do any of you use kastmasters for bass? What size, weight, color, and retrieve has worked best for you? Thanks!

If you could make your own bait
I am trying to think how this would work? The main problem I can see is the hook point and line tie would be to close to work. Let me look at some lipless baits and see if it is possible. Allen Maybe instead of an EWG it could be a weighted Kahle hook or weighted octopus/circle hook. I see what you are saying with the line tie. It needs to be on the top, not the front. Thats why I'm thinking Kahle or Circle type hook.
