So whats the hype with the color"Sexy Shad?"
This pattern from what I have read, heard, and experienced just catches fish. I have had the most luck on sexy(foxy) shad colored lures. My PB(~5lbs) was caught on a foxy shad super spot. I have not got anything yet on my sexy shad war eagle finesse spinnerbait... that will change soon...

Fishing a Cold Front?
I tend to fish slow during a front. So senkos, jigs, bottom contact baits for sure. I really dont think you can go wrong with a senko.

Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft: Green or Clear?
Currently I use clear Yozuri in 8 and 10lb on my bc reels. When I need to get more I'm gonna be picking up the green. The city lakes I fish tend to have a greenish tint to them and stain my clear line, so green will be the way I go from now on.

rod length
The crank, jerk, and topwater are thrown on the same rod(6'6" Vendetta M/F), I have only three rods, 2 casting and one spinning, all vendettas. I wish I had a lightsaber rod... That would be awesome... They'd call me Darth Basstard, Dark Lord of the Fish!

Greasing gears in a reel, what's the proper way??
I have been wanting to know about this too. I want to be able to service my reels properly, the only thing that I have done is break them down to clean the dirt and grime and give a few drops of oil here and there. I haven't gotten around to greasing the gears yet. I really hope you get an answer.

When you think you've seen it all....
Looks like that top hook would get snagged in cover more often than the regular belly hook. The bill on regular cranks protect that hook from getting snagged too much. It seems to me that the top hook is asking to get hung up.

Swept handles?
Where do you guys get custom swept handles, and on average how much do they cost? Thanks!

storm kicking stick
I have the 5" version, I know you are asking about the 8". I use the trout colored one, it has good action and swims like the magic swimmer. Its a poor mans magic swimmer. I have not caught anything on it as of yet, but have had a bird swoop down and grab it out of the water a couple times. I guess that says something about the lure. Hope I helped you out!

BPS Dart Tube
I have some of these. Have not caught anything with them yet but they have good action rigged backwards like reverse rigging a fat ika. The legs look more like the claws flapping around than an ika. But the dart tube and ika are two different baits.

Oval Shaped split ring line ties
The oval split ring keeps the knot from moving around the split ring. With the round rings the knot can slide around to where the opening for the ring is and potentially be cut or weakened. The oval ring because of its shape does not allow this shift to happen, it keeps the knot where you tie it.

Finally got my 2010 REVO SX!
I have been waiting since the Bass-A-Thon event at Anglers in Anaheim, CA in November... It had to be special ordered for me, after three months of waiting still no reel, so I got a refund for the money. Then I saw the Spring Fishing Classic ad and saw the REVO SX in there went to Bass Pro to get it, they didn't have it, had them order me one from another store, they said they wouldn't be getting any in, they keep getting last years model. So I finally found one at Tackle Warehouse and bought it. The next day its in my hands. At least I got two free vendettas for my troubles(the Pure Fishing rep hooked it up)...

Got screwed by TW...
I used a 10% off code and it was applied to the order, so I paid the price that was discounted, and the next day I recieved an email that had my invoice. Guess what... They charged me the full price on everything I ordered. I don't understand!? What should I do? They already charged my card for the full price.

Daiwa Advantage bearings in a Exceler?
Im not afraid to make a call, I just wanted to know what I could do myself to remedy the problem, without the hassle of sending off to Daiwa or get professionally serviced. I dont have a wide assortment of reels like some of you do, I only have 3(2 BC, 1 spinning) I dont want to be out a reel when I want to fish. Those of you lucky enough to have a whole arsenal of reels and rods dont have to deal with being down a reel like some of us here, you have backups, and backups for the backups. It kinda irks me that some of you that have top of the line gear flaunt it all over bass resource, making the people that cant afford the $300-500+ reels and rods feel bad. We know you have money, we know you can afford the premium tackle, just don't rub our faces in it. Sorry for the rant.

Daiwa Advantage bearings in a Exceler?
The reel was listed as New in box. I don't know what happened to the reel but for some reason today it was not making noise on the cast and reels pretty smoothly now, I did add some oil here and there, but the first time I put some oil on the bearings, it was still noisy. I guess through fishing today it worked the oil into the bearings and smoothed everything out. Thanks to all that have helped.

Daiwa Advantage bearings in a Exceler?
Yes, give them a call and tell them how you just voided your warranty by using Hot Sauce. :-/ If a reel is unsatisfactory when you buy it, take it back and exchange it ASAP. I cant take it back anywhere... I bought it on Ebay. Thats why I am asking people about it here.

Daiwa Advantage bearings in a Exceler?
If the reel is that new it is just breaking in. Don't worry about the slight rough feeling when you crank it (gears are just breaking in) or, the bearing noise you hear when casting (usually dry bearing packs). You can clean the spool bearings and re-oil (one drop of quality oil per) this will stop/cut down the casting noise, then get a solid season of use. Then get it tuned up... Tight Lines!!! That makes complete sense to me! Thanks! Ill keep using it and see if it gets better, if not I guess Ill have it professionally serviced(that should solve the problem...)

Thanks for the answers so far. The reel is brand new, that is why Im asking about the bearings. Ill give the cleaning/lubing a shot though.

In need of spinnerbait storage
I use an expandable notecard holder, they have them almost everywhere from supermarkets to walmart. They are cheap and hold spinnerbaits well. You can also fit buzzbaits in there as long as they are not the triple or quad blade type.

Daiwa Advantage bearings in a Exceler?
Will the bearings for the Advantage baitcaster fit in an Exceler? I just got an Exceler it casts great with little to no backlash, it just reels in a little rough, and when casting makes some noise. Would this be a solution to the problem? Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Are there any good swimbait rods in the 7' and under range?
What about this rod? http://www.***.com/Okuma_EVX-A_Casting_Rods/descpage-OEVXCR.html# its 89.99 and is telescopic but im not sure where... the pic looks like it telescopes just above the reel seat. This looks like a decent rod.

Yeah... I wish... But seriously though I think based upon what everyone else has said about their rides, I could try and finagle a legit swimbait rod in there. Ok, the car problem is solved. What about the rod? I saw a Abu Garcia Vengeance rod thats 49 bucks and its 7'6" HF is that a good start for a first swimbait rod?

Citica Steal
Thats an awesome deal! Does tackle warehouse give college discounts to students that dont have a team? I live in SoCal and havent heard of any colleges in my area with a fishing team.

I have a camry. I usually take a buddy with me in the car so there is not really room for anything over 7, well if I dont want to keep hitting him in the face with the rod tip. The way I lay them out in my car is the backseat down and the rods placed in the trunk through the cabin and it sits perfectly behind the front seat(my rods range from 6'6"-7'. I guess I can figure out a way to do it. Maybe a rod under 7'6" possibly 7'3"?
