  1. I gotta wait until the 17th to get mine. Pics?
  2. i suggest using round rubber if your going to do a finesse jig. When i first started tying finesse jigs i was using silicone skirts. It just didnt look right. I started using round rubber and got the look i wanted. Other than that, looking good. Just to let you know, it gets very very addicting.
  3. I noticed mine was tighter than most, but at no point did i have a problem with it. Like stated above, i just turned mine sideways and gave it a shake and it came out.
  4. I know, but the spool only holds about 100 yds of 10lb mono. Im no saltwater fisherman, but i know if i get something of size on, theyre gonna make a run on me and im not gonna have the line to fight it. And i dont want to get sand in it and possibly ruin it. My main caster is going to be my Orra Inshore baitcaster.
  5. A black trick worm on a drop shot is always tied on on my front deck.
  6. The other main reason i bought it is for a saltwater trip coming up in October. I didnt want to use my Abu. I figure if this Sienna takes a crap from the saltwater, i can just buy another. It is also going to be my main small river smallmouth reel, I just cant believe how nice it feels and casts for only being $30.
  7. You got a Vendetta for $5? That is the steal if a lifetime. The Vendetta is a very underrated rod, i love it.
  8. Im not saying it will solve your problems. But put some Megastrike on your swimbait. The worst case scenario is it comes through the vegetation better. I have tried all kinds of scents. I totally gave up on them all, then i tried Megastrike. I wont throw a bait out without it on it. It may just be a confidence thing, but when it comes to fishing, confidence is just as important as your tackle.
  9. 4 inch strike king shadalicious swimbaits in blue gizzard shad, a live target mouse,a black/blue jig with a pack of blue saphire rage craws, green pumpkin rage craws, rage tail menaces. If youre on a budget, a pack of Havoc grass pigs will be a good swimbait for you.
  10. I just want to start by saying I am an Abu fanatic and dont understand the Shimano hype. I was at Bass Pro today and needed to get my wife a new spinning reel (her $10 Shakespeare died). I was looking at the packaged spinning reels and came upon a Shimano Sienna for $30. I figured i would give it a try. After getting it home and putting line on it and casting it around in the backyard, this reel feels amazing. It is way smoother than my $100 Abu Orra. It only has 4 bearings but feels soooooo smooth. Whats the deal? Im not gonna sell all my Abu baitcasters for Shimanos, but why does this $30 Shimano feel so much better than my $100 Orra?
  11. I havent fished with any higher end rods. I have a few Veritas, Ducketts, Skeets. But i recently picked up a St Croix Rage rod and i am absolutely blown away. I have it paired with a Revo Premier and the combo is feather light and sensitive. If money wasnt an option, I would have all Rage rods. I would have to buy a G Loomis though, just to see what all the hype is about.
  12. I might be heading down next year. The wife used to work at Disney and wants to go back. Might pull the Ranger. Any suggestions?
  13. i hate looking at the pictures of you Florida guys. Nice looking background and knowing your water has giant bass. Illinois isnt as fun as Florida.
  14. "the black mamba"
  15. "wide gap hooker"
  16. Cadman turned me into a jig making machine. His heads keep me busy and in the garage away from the wife.
  17. I have 5 Revo Ss, 1 Premier, 1 Orra Inshore and 1 STX. I only use Abus. You will not be dissapointed. Abu for life
  18. the best boats are the ones that float. I love my Ranger, but its the only bass boat i have ever been in besides a Z-9. When i was looking for a boat i looked at storage and whether or not it would fit in my garage. I knew i could only fit an 18 footer in my garage, so that helped me narrow down my search.
  19. 1. Brady 2. Breese 3. Rodgers 4.eli manning 5.Cutler Peyton Manning is the best i have ever seen, but him missing all last year, he just cant make this list. I cant believe i seen Joe Flacco and Carson Palmer on this thread.
  20. I fished it today as a trailer on a 1/4 oz white swim jig. Menace color was pearl. By far the best swim jig trailer i have ever used. My favorite thing was the way it planed on the vegetation. I actually came on to start a new thread and saw this one. I want to give a big thanks to Big-O and strike king. Another great Rage product. The action is perfect for a swim jig. I didnt like the bulk of a rage craw for a swim jig, but the Menace is a perfect fit.
  21. amazing. I now need to change my shorts.
  22. i think i have 3 different brands, whatever wal mart sells, whatever bass pro sells and whatever tackle warehouse sells. They all are the same to me. If you spend over $100 at tackle warehouse you will get a reel cover for $2.99. I highly suggest you get it if you dont have any reel covers. There reel covers are much much better than bass pros. They go on much easier and are of better quality.
  23. now you guys have me all excited for ice fishing.
