  1. Liam Neeson is the man. Taken makes Jack Bauer look like Hannah Montana. And here's why:
  2. Thanks for the help guys. I'll probably head to wal mart later today to see what I can find.
  3. Thanks for the help everybody! i'll be sure to check em out
  4. I'm looking for a rod to throw texas rigs, jigs, and possibly carolina rigs on, but I don't have a whole lot of money. Anybody have suggestions for the $100-$150 range? Thanks!
  5. Does anybody have a way of estimating water temperature or does anyone know where i might find a water thermometer? Thanks!
  6. I went to private Catholic school from preschool through middle school, although it was nowhere near 9k per year. I am thankful that my parents paid for those years of school because I believe that I received a high quality education. I think having a solid base has given me an advantage over some that were educated in a public school (NC public schools don't have a great reputation). I see one major drawback from private school, at least in the case of my school, in that there was very little economic, racial, and religious diversity. From the time I started preschool until the time i finished 8th grade, I had less than ten (I want to say only four) African American classmates. Going into a public high school was very different and I'm not sure I was completely prepared in a social aspect. I tended to make racist comments and avoid members of other races, quite frankly because I did not know many people that weren't from white, middle class, 4 to 5 person families. At 14, my first reaction was to belittle anything that was different. Things have changed drastically since then, as I learned that judging people by the color of their skin is extraordinarily ignorant. Some of my best friends, teammates, and fishing buddies are black. While I think I might have received a higher quality education at a private high school, the life lessons I learned at a public school were far more important (and way cheaper). Sorry to write a novel, but I say go for the private education starting somewhere around Kindergarten if it is a financial possibility (9k sounds a little steep). I would recommend, if at all possible, to look for a private school with as much diversity as possible. I am willing to bet that your child will hate private school while they're in it, but they will thank you one day.
  7. Calc is no joke. I'm in college calculus class and I'm pretty sure I bombed my test today. Its all good tho
  8. Gotta say Bill Dance. I like City Limits too, but a lot of times he isn't bass fishing so I'm not really into it. The Bass Pros is probably the most informative.
  9. agreed.
  10. At least your berkley scale worked....mine never did
  11. My buddy picked up that rod the other day. I was messing with right before I read this post and was thinking it was too whippy for anything but trebles. Take the spinnerbait/worm writing off and it really does seem like a solid crankbait rod. Maybe topwater/jerkbait too.
  12. that looks like some really good work man
  13. Then I am super jealous
  14. All I can say is thank you. Hopefully it will air here on campus now.
  15. See you guy's at Stone Brewery tonight....lol MMMM,stone! I'm jealous to say the least. I can't go out for Paddy's day because of lots of English work. Tonight is a Garnet and Black night. The garnet and black is poured like a black and tan, but with Killian's Irish Red and Guinness instead of Bass and Guinness. It tastes alright and I got the separation right the first time! edit: after looking at your comment again, I realized you might have been referring to Stone, the poster before you and not the actual Stone Brewery in California. haha o well

  17. Are you a fan of Sammy Smith's Oatmeal Stout? It's one of my favs. Now THAT's a good beer. I remember the first time I had a bottle. It was the late 90's, and I was partying in the parking lot at Alpine Valley, awaiting a Phish show. I think they were going for about four bucks, for a fatty bottle, in the lot scene back then. After my first sip, well, I can't really put it into words...but I knew I had found something special. I remember when I had my first bottle as well. It was like a month ago after a day of not catching anything. Good stuff.

    Wow. That looks awesome!
  19. I had my first Vitcory brew Saturday. It was the Hop Devil and I really enjoyed it. I also tried the Genesee Cream Ale the other day, and its not bad for what it is.
  20. Thanks for the help guys. I just got home where I have the tools. I might end up painting the whole thing just to give it a try. This could be fun.
  21. I got a Citica and love it...The Black Max is trash And BigRickRolled...where did you get a picture of my Yugo? Here's my other one.
  22. Skipping rod was my first thought...I don't do it often, but it's an extra rod so why not mess with it and see what I can do?
  23. Spring Break starts tomorrow and I'm gonna do my Lightning Rod as well. I'm also gonna take a few inches off. Thanks for the idea!
  24. I was considering modifying mine by throwing it in the trash...I don't like mine at all. I think I might give the Super Tuning a chance to see if I can make a decent reel out of the Crap Max.
  25. I have a Berkley Lightning Rod 6'6" MH trigger rod that has a ridiculously long butt (like 11") and im gonna shorten it about 3" and make it a split grip. I'm doing it just to see how I like working on a rod and was wondering if there was a use for a 6'3" MH rod...it seems to short to be useful. Any ideas?
