So Many Choices
I honestly think trying new techniques can strengthen your skills at your bread and butter techniques. Developing your skills with the drop shot will help to be a better grub and tube fisherman. Anything that generates a bite, a strike that's a little different than what your'e used to will only help you become a better angler. Some techniques are must know for certain bodies of water. I never threw a large swimbait until I fished Clear Lake. I had to learn that bait type and fast. It helped me in other ways I fish. Options are good.

Magnum Shakey Head
Last year at Clear Lake I tried a 10 inch hand poured worm made by Maverick Baits with a custom 1/4 wide gap shakey head. I was apprehensive but the shop owner's advice was gold so I went with it and gave it a try when things slowed down. It worked great. I plan to use it next week. Welcome to the forum BTW !

Try It For Yourself...
Bass Dude, you have a valid point. If someone asks which of two colors of a plastic worm will work better on the private pond he fishes, how can anyone really know ? It's reasonable for a person to try both and find out. I think I understand the context of your question. I don't think you are inferring the person asking is lazy, cheap or looking for a short cut. It's just they can easily find out the answer to their own question as well as ask for advice. There is a whole lot of knowledge within the members here and I would never berate anyone for asking a question. It's not unreasonable for one to say, try both and you might be surprized.

I Quit From Your Crappy Forum
I didn't read the very first post. Was some one unhappy ? Did I see someone post a picture of food on a wall clock ? Some one said Bye. Is there a party ? I love parties and cake. I'm inviting my buddy Stiller. Is this now a crappie forum? I love crappie fishing. They taste like bass. Cake is better. Stiller is not responding to my PM's. I guess he doesn't like cake.

When Has Technology Done You Wrong?
My son dropped his cell phone in the toilet. How did he overcome the soaking? He put it in a bag of rice. I like the thought of rice being technology. His efforts took the P out of the word PHONE.

Is A Snap Swivel Ok To Use With Crankbait?
A snap swivel? No. A quick clip snap? Yes. Any of the dual lock clips will allow you to change baits quickly and may even enhance the action of the bait over the stock split ring. I have yet to have a dual lock snap fail. They are not expensive. Note that Luhr Jensen crankbaits come stock with dual lock snaps. Wonder why ?

When Has Technology Done You Wrong?
I'm sorry Glenn but technology has had some less than positive impacts. My pet peave, video games. Get kids outside and active. Texting and cell phones, in schools and especially when driving. Smart phones. Ever had to deal with complaints about " sexting " with kids who are 14, 15 and so on sending images of their genitalia to each other ? Identity Theft and Fraud costs people billions each year. The scams originate in Africa, are buffered in Europe and channeled through south America. Solveabilty rate ? ZERO. You are paying for the losses, trust me. Ever been in the middle of issuing an " E-ticket ", give to the offender the printed copy then have the system crash and loose it ? It's not all roses. Sorry, got on my soap box too long. It's my age I guess.

New Luhr Jensen Speedtrap
You got me. I got on the web site and failed to see the "new" Speed Trap. I know the models manufactured in Hood River Oregon are sought by west coast guys now that they are made in Mexico but I failed to see anything new about them. I have about 35 of them and 20+ Hot Lips. You got me exited though.

Rod Breakage
Iv'e owned alot of rods in the last 40 years and have broken 4. One was a window incident which I will lave alone. One was on a cast and I am convinced I bruised the blank previously. I also broke two of the exact same model in the exact same location during normal use. The manufacture made good on it and no longer manufactures the series. Guys I know in the rod industry told me more rods are broken from " bouncing" fish than any other reason.
