  1. Zoom Super Chunk or Yum Chunk on bigger jigs in 55 degree and colder. Rage Chunk or craw when warmer. Paca Chunks are also good for 1/4 oz jigs. So many great options. If you want action, lot's of action, RAGE is it.
  2. Best: Where there's little fish, there's big fish. Worst: Where there's little fish, there's big fish. You have to know the guy that gave it.
  3. I had to get prescription sunglasses. EXPENSIVE, but no one thinks I'm getting ready to spot weld anymore.
  4. Nice design. Good product and great service.
  5. Great reliable reels. the 5 will make a great cranking reel. There have been some nice ones on our flea market in the 80.00 price range.
  6. Check your centrifugal brakes. If they are all pressed in, move one set (Opposites) out. Play with the spool tension knob. That should take care of it. Sorry, I mis-hit the don't like key. My error.
  7. Great news Chris. In a time when many businesses are down sizing, you are expanding. That speaks well for your products and service. I'm looking forward to your spring sale.
  8. Here's one more for you Kent, Put some suspend dots on your TV remote. You'll have forearms like Popeye in 6 months. Is reeling in those Pickwick toads considred resistance training ?
  9. Move to the Rods/Reels/Line forum and read the pinned thread on how to properly adjust/setup a baitcaster. Your thumb is the best control for spool rotation but the systems employed in your Smoke can really help if you set it up right. I don't like to bad mouth any product but Vanish and Transition are not a line I will ever purchase or use again. Poor casting characteristics, too stiff and they did not hold up for nothing. The most disappointing lines I have used to date. Remember, the line must come off the spool at the same rate as the spool rotation. If the spool rotates faster than the line come off, it has no where to go but in the housing. Result, back-lash. Try some YoZuri Hybrid or similar line. Great casting line and it holds up exceptionally well. WELCOME to the forum.
  10. Thanks, I did some web research and found the cable on line.
  11. First, I admit my ignorance. I picked up a new MG Tour 82 Digital from a slimer. No manual or paperwork. There is a coax and female adapter and it appears the is a transducer built in the power head ? Anyone know if the jack is universal or brand specific ? Any help is appreciated.
  12. Welcome Seadog92. I'm down here in Cowlitz County.
  13. The techniques you have listed don't require a gear ratio with torque. You could set yourself up with a 7.1 to 1 in case you find you might want that faster line pick up. The 6.4 to 1 is a great all around ratio unless you are deep cranking. Both my TP's are 6.4 to 1.
  14. Dobyns Champion series rods are hard to beat in their price range. I have the 733, 734 abd 765 Flip. When I can come up with the green, the Champion 735 will be added. If you consider 1/2 to 1 oz. baits the norm, the 735 will be the deal. Check out Justin Rackley's You Tube video on that model. Good luck.
  15. I have three Saros 3000 series. Great great reels. Xtra spools too. I just got a Stardic FJ300. It has the x-ship feature. Another great reel. The StradicFI at 119.00 is a super deal. They are all super products.
  16. BassinBlvd was one of the first, if not the first member to take the chance with the Lews. I was a couple weeks after Doug. I don't know know how many he has. I now have six. I think I like them.
  17. Curry asparagus. Gary turned me on to this stuff.
  18. Lews Tournament Pro 5.4 to 1, 6.9 ounces (r/h only) and will outcast the Premier. Much less expensive too. Problem solved.
  19. I just picked up a few NorthStar jigs. I am amazed at the care to detail on this product. They look better in person than on the screen. Add me to the list of happy customers. If it wasn't for this forum, I doubt I would have ever heard of them out here on the west coast. It's also nice to support a sponsor.
  20. I contacted a reliable source for the answer on PAA discount. 30% for the Affinity level membership. Check with PAA if there is a recent change however.
  21. FLW Everstart Series AOY. Nice guy as is his father.
  22. Man. I'm sorry Kent. I had to put my Lab down last year. I miss her a bunch. Happy days with your new pup !!
  23. Too bad you missed Hook and Look. It was the featured bait. Great tail action.
  24. Clearly, you have done some homework and have an eye for good stuff. It's all personal prefeence. I can't argue on your reel choices. I own or have owned each of your selections. The cranking rod is one rod I would suggest you revisit. I have owned Loomis CB rods and Lamiglas CB rods ( still do ). I would also suggest the Dobyns Champion 705CB Glass. At least research them. It's one of Dobyns' best sellers and for good reason. Welcome to the forum ! I'm 40 miles north of you !!!! PM me anytime. Doug
