Yo-Zuri Line
If it was stored propery and not exposed to drastic heat, you should be more than fine. It's my choice. Love the stuff.

Yo-Zuri Hybrid Or Ultra Soft For Spinning Rigs?
I have not used the Ultrasoft because the Hybrid has worked so well for me the last two years, I can't see changing. 25,000 yards ? That's 14.27 miles of line. That should get Goose through almost a whole season.

Your Favorite Deep Diving Crank?
Vinny Chase and I are in agreement on the Normans Deep Little N. I also like the DD22. One bait that gets no love at all is the Luhr Jensen Hot Lips. I throw the 1/4 and 1/2 oz. models. There are times the Yo Zuri Hard Core is the only bait the smallmouth will bite. These are the baits I have extreme confidence in. Vinny, do you have any DLN's in Goby ??

Wind
I don't mind some wind but when it takes all my effort just to control the boat and waves are crashing over the bow, I get crabby. Some wind is very helpful. It can position the fish, breaks up the surface and get plankton moving around, creates some current and if it's to your back you can cast as far as you want. On the Columbia River, it gets so windy at times it's down right scary. Nothing like a sailboarder going by you at 50 MPH.

Rod Selection
If someone told me I was doing that trip I would have a Dobyns Champion 735. Plenty of length and tip to throw Hornny Toad type baits or drop the tip and twitch hollow bodies. so, 7'3" Heavy X-fast in your manufacture of choice. Have a good time !

Tube Jigheads
3/16 to 3/8 tube heads. 3/0 hooks and ALWAYS exposed. A friend pours them for me and the price is right because we loose several every trip. Wire hooks for fun fishing and Gammies in tournaments.

What Is The Meaning Behind Your Screen Name?
My home lake is super shallow. I started flippin and pitchin in 1981 and whenever anyone asked me how I caught my fish, that was normally the answer. My club members would even say, "Don't tell me Doug....pitchin and flippin. "I had it on the back window of my truck and even had a hat made up with it. It also sounds better than pickin and flickin.

Trophy Smallmouth Or Largemouth?
Honestly, a largemouth. If you can fish in Mexico or some of the other trophy largemouth lakes or waters, say like the Cal. Delta or Lake Fork, a 10 is very possible. To break 7 on a smallmouth in any water in the world, you would have to be very skilled and very lucky. A guy bagged an 8-2 on the Columbia in 2010 so they are there.

Better Check Your Dick's
Could you have thought of a slightly different title. I thought the thread was going to be warning. Sheesh.

The Snow - Take It Or Leave It . . . .
I have the 705 and 704 glass. We got 4 inches but it melted off in 36 hours. The result was my spending half my shift thursday night working traffic at mud slides over the roadway. Now that deserves a Dobyns 765, right ? Check youtube for the kid that is cranking DD22's in Conn. and uses a 765 and see that load and flex with some nice smallies.

New Spinning Reel: Quantum Or Shimano?
Saros. I have three 3000 series. They come with an extra spool which is nice. The 3000 is the same body size as a 2500 series and has the oversize handle. There were a couple on the Flea Mart recently with PICs and looked to be in great shape. They really are a terrific reel. I have to agree with 00mod on the Stradic option.

Need Advice On New Baitcaster

Erie Darter
If shfishinsticks sent JFranco some, it must have been out of pity. John doesn't have any lures or baits and relies on others to help him with lures. I even heard he is often seen at the entrance to his local Dicks with a cardboard sign that says, " HELP WILL WORK FOR LURES GOD BLESS." I really like that 063 color.

Warrantee Or No Warrantee
I'm pretty sure Powell views this as a marketing experiment because they offer only four models in the Diesel line, accoring to TT, so dead stock may be minimal. The key question is, how will retail Powell dealers respond ? This tactic will be good for business or really bad. I'm sure other rod manufactures will watch this product and concept closely.

Erie Darter
I have been looking at Poor Boys Erie Darter and plan try it out. It looks like a great change up from a tube. I would love to hear from anyone who has experience with this bait.

Listen To Music While Fishin?
So how do you hear your partner in the back end of the boat yell for you to get the net ?

When Do You Guys Restock Your Tackle?
I have enough stuff to last me the rest of my life. If I post a photo I will end up on that TV show, Hoarders or Intervention. I do need some tubes though.

Warrantee Or No Warrantee
TackleTour featured a new series from Powell rods, the Diesel. I guess it runs about $70.00 and the pitch is they offer more rod for the money up front because they don't warrantee it. No potential loss to Powell apparently is passed on in initial savings to the consumer. Are you willing to buy into that concept ? Any thoughts or opinions ?

Yo-Zuro Hybrid Fluorocarbon
I joined the forum two years ago and Road Warrior and a handful of other members spoke HIGHLY of YZ hybrid. I tried it and now I have it on all my spinning reels and almost every casting reel from #6 to #20. I have yet to break off a fish, not one, in two years. The #8 is crazy strong, #10 is killer for cranks, #12 and #15 handle just about any application and I pitch with #20 90% of the time. The only issue is I buy #20 in the filler spools and not the 1/4 pound to reduce coiling. That still is not a big deal though. My tournament partner only broke off one fish last year. He's a skinny guy but his hook sets break the sound barrier.
