first off, if my memory is right wd-40 is not techniqually a lubricant, thats just what alot of people use it as. I believe it stands for water displacement or something like that. and second, how would adding something to the reel attract fish?

i own some loomis rods, and i have tried the others on different occasions fishing with friends, the only shakeyhead rod ive ever used was the cumara. I love the way it feels and pretty much every aspect of it i like. Its my favorite rod.

what rods? i honestly prefer my shimano cumara over all the brands you just listed for shakeyhead

i really like my shimano cumara, but its 7 foot 2 in, but they make it in i want to say 6 foot 8 in.

also, if you get serious about the sport dont waste money buying cheap rods and reels, if you spend the money for high end rods and reels, they will last a long time and save you money over the long run such as a lifetime.

for a starter i would recommend getting some 5 in yamamoto senkos, crankbaits ranging from .5 ft to 18 feet to cover all depths. Different spinnerbait blade and color combinations. that should give you a good start, once you master those then come back and ill tell you some more lol.
