  1. Nice setup! I tend to keep mine in a slightly larger tote... No room for that much stuff in my house, tho, LOL! I'm in trouble for the room I already take up with fishing gear!
  2. I had 2 Chronarch 50e reels. Upgraded both to 7.1:1. Sold one, so down to one (I simply use spinning more). I can highly recommend it. Love it. Cast light baits a country mile, and so forth .
  3. Welcome aboard! Definitely want to make sure you're allowed to fish it. Are there any "no trespassing" signs? If nothing is in the way of fishing it, I second the wacky rig recommendation, and go with a Bass Pro Stik-O, or a Yum Dinger if an actual Senko is too expensive for you. Another color that works great is watermelon magic.
  4. Welcome aboard!
  5. Beside losing to snags, I dispose of hooks, usually, by simply tossing in the trash. I've never heard of trashed hooks being a problem in the same way discarded line can be... Not to say they aren't a problem.... And I am a recycler, but our area has strict rules on what they will and will not recycle. I.e., bottles, cardboard, etc., but not recyclable plastic bags, not recyclable tubs of butter and so forth. Confusing stuff.
  6. Welcome aboard, Dennis! There's a lot of Indiana guys here that will chime in soon!
  7. Welcome aboard!
  8. Well, not news to anyone who knows me, but I'll throw the same stuff on a tough day as a good day. I pretty much do "finesse" all the time. Senkos/knock-offs wacky rigged Trick and Finesse worms wacky/TX/mojo rigged Various soft plastics drop shot rigged
  9. Welcome aboard, David!
  10. I dunno, don't wanna corrupt this young generation
  11. And if you record it, play it at double speed, then add Benny Hill music. Especially if it is Bill Dance's outtakes. Hilarious No really, good advice. I've done it with one or two shows back when I used to get them. Now I get zero shows with basic cable.
  12. To be honest, not much. I did put stock into some for a while, but after spending $$ on their gear hawking I came to learn those things didn't seem work for me. I find more help on this forum than from the pros.
  13. My apologies. I'll tell the Great Weather Maker to tone it down... Although the thundersnow is pretty sweet.
  14. Man, Hootie, you are churning these out like a man with a mission!! Love it!
  15. Welcome aboard, Patrick! Being a MH and St. Croix, it'll probably suffice. I find SC rods to be a tad stiffer than their ratings. If you are worried, return it and get the fast.
  16. Usually I rig up when I'm sitting in my kayak but before I've pushed off the launch. Sometimes I've rigged the night before a planned trip, but not usually.
  17. Wife and I got our eldest son a DNA kit for Xmas, but he's not done it yet. We both want to get one done as well. I know from my Mom's sleuthing (rest her soul) that I have Irish, English, German, Bohemian/Czech. Percentages, no idea.
  18. I wouldn't be one to try that out, sorry I prefer my hook perpendicular to the bait, and for weedless, I either make my own, or buy wacky-specific in weighted jigs. As well, the bullet would work, but is large and I'd think would be counter productive to the action a smaller, rounder weight would allow. This is just me. I'm all for people trying new stuff, new ideas and experimentation!

Welcome aboard! You're on the BEST bass fishing forum anywhere!!
  20. I use 1000 size Stradics and braid + leader for everything. Braid, in my case, Power Pro Regular and Super Slick 8, completely eliminates line management issues. I get zero coiling and very long, smooth casting (esp with SS8). Personally, I wouldn't use straight fluoro, but I love it as a leader. When I did use non-braid lines, line management was an issue, even down to 4# and 6# test. On a 2500 you want to use a limp fluoro.
  21. Welcome aboard! You'll get some help here. Some great reel mechs and experts.
  22. Can't help you with that, but welcome to the forums!
  23. LOL, I almost said that very thing - clear baits.
  24. The latest headline: Bass Pro Shop's $5.5 Billion Deal for Cabela's Inc Is Falling Apart A regulatory morass could sink the tie-up between the sporting goods giants. https://www.fool.com/investing/2017/02/08/bass-pro-shops-55-billion-deal-for-cabelas-inc-is.aspx?source=isesitlnk0000001&mrr=0.25
