  1. 4" senko/knock-off - wacky 4.75" Zoom Finesse Worms - wacky, TX Zoom Tiny Flukes - mojo
  2. Welcome aboard, Brandon!
  3. Great interview - and ditto on the closing comments.
  4. Depending on the rating, MXF or MF would be my choice.
  5. Phew. I'm with Special Engineer, for the cost of your setup, might be worth the price to have someone dive in and look for it.
  6. Welcome aboard! I'd buy it. Wish I could afford one for my kayak. Yeah, I'd have a big one mounted on my gunnel. Why not?
  7. Welcome aboard!
  8. Good news about the PSA test, Bill. Sorry to hear you fell and broke some ribs. I still have to hold my left side when I sneeze thanks to a dumb move I made while playing sand volleyball. Wish they had raked the sand before I fell on it....
  9. Never fished there, but when I lived in TX, I did get to visit Kerrville...many moons ago Great area, and some great land, rivers to fish, I'm sure. Welcome aboard!
  10. I've not been in the store down in Hampton, VA for years. Sorry to hear they've gone the bankruptcy route, but in the face of Bass Pro and DSG's, it may be a tough retail road to hoe, as they say.
  11. Guys, have a read here - the Chic report is partway down the page: http://blog.wildlife.virginia.gov/outdoor-report/2016/02/fishin-report-19/
  12. I mainly fish them, too. I only have some GYCB Senkos for a specific color. The rest are Stik-Os!
  13. I, too, found YUM Dingers to not have the same shimmy as other brands. Specifically, GYCB Senkos, and BPS Stik-Os. The latter of which have a nice shimmy at 4", at least to me.
  14. Agree with this. Though I do think he's quite skilled with his casting!
  15. Which hooks are you using? And yes, I understand fishing from shore. Been there, done that, and occasionally still do! I buy bulk Gamakatsu Splitshot/Dropshot hooks 25 for about $13, or if you buy online, cheaper unless you end up paying shipping. I like 1/0 and I tie on my own weedless wire and it really does help a lot.
  16. No, but it will still shimmy. And a 6" will have greater shimmy than the 5. So it's all relative to the bait. I catch a ton of bass wacky rigged on a 4" senko. As I've said in other posts, wacky is my primary style, and for me, it's been very successful. But for others, 5" worms perform better. Go figure. Not really. If you've never wacky rigged, you really oughta try it!
  17. You really want to handle the reels in a store in order to get a sense of how they feel in your hands. Years ago I had completely decided to go the President route based on the numerous excellent reviews on the product(s). And there's no doubt they're excellent reels. However, in my hands, I didn't like how they felt, reeled, etc. Completely subjective. I tried a similar sized Shimano, Quantum, Daiwa, Abu, etc. The best *feeling* and reeling to me were Shimano. So like it's been said, if you can take your rod in to a store and try several different brands on it, choose the one you feel fits you best. It was Shimano for me, but you may feel some other brand fits your style better.
  18. Count me in with the Legend Tournament Bass/Walleye rods (smaller sizes in the identical walleye series), and a Shimano Stradic of your choice, within your budget. But as it has been said, a senko catches fish no matter what you use.
  19. I fish 4 inchers most of the time. I do carry the same colors in 5" and on particular color in 6". I can say w/o a doubt that I catch more on 4" than any other. I did catch my PB on a 5 inch worm, and have caught some big and small bass on 5s. I have caught many bass in the 5 to high 6 pound range with 4s.
  20. Yep! I put them in my tackle box, got some really big packs in one of them, and tiny ones in my hook box. They work great. Whole gallon ziplock full of 'em collected over the years for when one of the kids' phones (or mine) get wet...
  21. Welcome aboard, Tim!
  22. Welcome aboard!
  23. Welcome aboard!
  24. Welcome aboard! I use ML, and M spinning rods for all my bass fishing, which is primarily soft plastics, so an ML is a good match for a lot of what I do.
  25. Hi Kyle, welcome aboard!
