Road To The Super Bowl!
Agreed. I think the Pats will be a force again should these guys find their game quickly after being out...

Road To The Super Bowl!
Tyrod is my man! Can't wait to see what he can do next year. Now Rex? I dunno... Was really excited with his hire, but reality has set in. Hope he gets it together next season.

Bps reels and rods
Welcome aboard! I love their Carbonlite series of rods. Reels? I've never owned one, but haven't been overly impressed with my hands-on experiences in store.

New to fishing. What kayak should I buy?
Assuming the store you're going to is a yak store, then they should have some fisherfolk on hand or at least some that can give you good suggestions. Lighting can be had at just about any kayak store, or over the internet at the various sites like paddleva.com, austinkayak.com, yakattack.us and so on. As for paddles, yes, BB makes a good paddle, and please, remember to wear your PFD 100% of the time you are on the water!! Can't stress this enough, and I know you see a lot of pictures of kayak fishermen on Google that don't. Don't be that guy. Wear it! As for rod holders and fish finders, there is a lot to offer here. But first and foremost, may I suggest you get out in your new yak and fish it before you start outfitting it, drilling holes, and so on. You'll get an idea very quickly of where you want rod holders to be as opposed to where the manufacturer places them. And Google is your best friend with DIY stuff. There is SO much out there.

New to fishing. What kayak should I buy?
Welcome aboard! 2-3K budget can get you a lot of yak. The models you list will all work for you, and you should be able to stand in any of them. But if you can get to a store to demo, or at the very least, sit in each of the yaks you are interested in, you should do it. Reason for that is that you may hate how the WS sits compared to the FeelFree, or vice versa. Otherwise, you buy one and may/may not regret your purchase. Other brands to consider for standing are Native Watercraft (Ultimate, Slayer series), Hobie's, Jackson, and there are others. Just make sure you account for a paddle and PFD in your $.

Power up my kayak
Jerry, that's my modification. Stock C2 30 I bought, cut down the shaft, added the length of 4 wire rubber coated power cable. Speed control is factory, taken out of the motor's head/handle setup. I was using an 85AH battery, but it was so heavy. I now use a 35AH sealed wheelchair battery and I can fish my reservoirs for hours. Typically I can go along at top speed to one of my spots, then troll around here and there, go top speed to another spot, troll around, etc. I figure I get at least 4-6 hours, but I've not actually counted the hours, I just fish and have never used up my battery life in one outing.

Power up my kayak
Welcome aboard, Jerry! I motorized my Native Ultimate 12 with a simple MinnKota C2 30. I patterned it after the BassYaks and other products on the market. Was a DIY and still works great. I've got pix in my gallery. Most parts I bought from Home Depot, and a local Tru Value. I do recommend using Stainless Steel bolts, etc. I used zinc plated and had some rusting issues after a while.

Weight Scale
I have used digital scales, each of which are currently resting somewhere at the bottom of two different reservoirs. So I opted to buy a 15lb Boga Grip and added a float to it so she'll not drift down to Davey Jones' Locker. While I do like the weight to be more specific, i.e., 5.05 lbs as opposed to something between the 5 and 5.25 mark on the Boga, the Boga is solid, accurate and doesn't have issues with water (i.e., electronics). I'd have another digital scale to supplement my Boga, but for now, the Boga is it.

I've hit rock bottom...
Hang in there C&G. It hurts now, but it will get better. As C22 said, time heals all. You have a bright future, focus on that, focus on being a good man, a generous man, a kind man, and live your life. Don't be in a rush to find love as love can sting. I know love's keen sting, but I did find my wife and those old loves are nothing anymore - though they hurt a lot at the time -- and I couldn't even conceive of anyone better. Even so, I found someone better, and I'm still married to her.

Your 2015 in Review - Goals for 2016
Kids last only so many years before they become adults. Fishing is fishing. I've got one in college, one in high school and two more in middle school. Plenty of time. Each of the last three boys are soccer players, so plenty of OUR time will be traveling and such. Fishing will have to take second/third place until they're all off to college.

Drop shotting

Your 2015 in Review - Goals for 2016
I have no real regrets for 2015. This was the year I took several months off from fishing because life (soccer mostly) got "in the way", but it was also a good time to settle down and reflect on what I love about fishing. Those months were also good to show me what I needed and didn't need for fishing. I.e., bait monkey excesses. (not that I've done much about them, but that's not the point ). For 2016 I want to get out and just enjoy life fishing when I can get out. I do wish, again, that I will catch a new PB even if I get out less), but the bottom line will be to love the sport.

Sharpening Boomerang Snips
Mine got dull, too. Fly may have the right idea of sending them back. Just did a quick scan of their site, unless I completely missed it, there was no info on warranty. Probably have to contact them via phone or email to find out if they can sharpen or replace them.
