  1. You bet! There's a lot of us on the forums here!
  2. Welcome aboard!
  3. I switched to Open D for just about everything! Played for about 28 years, got tired of standard tuning, LOL. Switched to Open D about 3 years ago, haven't looked back.
  4. Yup. Taylor and a Yamaha (both acoustic/elec).
  5. I'll vote for the Stradic, but the Symetre is also a fine reel. I own two Stradic FI models, and they are great. I passed on the Symetre when comparing them in-store. The Stradic is just much more refined in feel.
  6. Hi Carter, welcome aboard!
  7. Yes, I've had LMB, at least once that I can remember. When I was a wee lad. Can't remember if I liked it or not, LOL. Oddly enough, my wife and I are not much on seafood or freshwater food. Only like some fish, but we usually avoid it altogether since my wife has a shellfish allergy.
  8. One thing is for sure, we are all the beneficiaries of great and competitive engineering! Native, WS, Feel Free, and so many others are on the hunt to make the next great fishing platform. This ATAK appears to be WS's shot at the crown. I'm sure it'll be a fantastic fishing yak. Will look at it, but the Yak Monkey shall not bother me, thanks to satisfaction with my current yak!!
  9. For me, tackle itch is started by either running low or on empty on a good bait, or sales.
  10. Depending on your weight distribution, either directly behind you, yes, in a box, or in the front. Fortunately for me, my Native Ultimate has thwarts - like a canoe - to which I use a short bungie to attach to the box handles, wrap the twart, then to the other box handle. Works great. Best thing I ever did, though, was to down- size my battery from a size 24 weighing around 60 pounds to an AGM, sealed, deep charge wheelchair battery. Lasts me just fine, and cut the weight in half. Edit: just added above pic, old, but you can see where I store my battery (the pic is the old, heavy battery. New one is in same spot).
  11. I don't really keep a log, but I've experimented in doing so on my iPhone with the Notes app. For several months I kept a running "log" of the fish I caught, the weight, the lure used, and in some cases, the conditions. Honestly, my DNA seems to have missed out on the log-keeping gene. Will keep up with some of the Notes thing, but may not be consistent...
  12. I've been throwing 10 pound Power Pro on several brands of rods in the $99 range for many years now. None have been damaged by the thin braid. I agree with above re: cheaper rods.
  13. Welcome aboard!

    Welcome aboard!
  15. Well done, sir!!
  16. Nice! Ingenuity and necessity, mother's of invention!
  17. Welcome aboard!
  18. Love the color scheme! Black n' Blue!
  19. MH a great choice, though I'm not a Veritas guy. And hey, welcome to the forums!
  20. The answer is more yes for M as opposed to MH. At least in my experience. I throw weightless Zoom Tiny Flukes wacky rigged on my ML Chronarch 50e casting setup. Not a very long cast, mind you, but quite doable. I can get 35-40' casting a "weightless" Zoom Finesse worm on a 1/0 Gammy split/drop hook. The worm is 4.75" long, not sure the oz per worm.
  21. I prefer amber lenses, glass, in the day time, but if it is a darker, cloudy day I'd rather use a lighter polarized lens, which I don't currently have.
  22. I bought mine on ebay from a reputable dealer with a very high rating. I think I paid $160 for the glasses. A bit less than Bass Pro, etc. They are legit, but there are fakes out there so you have to be careful.
  23. "Other" suggestions that the 580G? Nope I bought the Brine 580G. Love 'em. Not a scratch on 'em after a few years. Great set of glasses that I don't regret buying for one minute. Tried on Maui Jim's and other brands, but the Costa's fit my head better and, well, I just love 'em, LOL. YMMV When I say "tried" it wasn't "bought", but tried them on at various sunglasses outlets...
