  1. Hey Kyle, welcome aboard! Lots of us kayak fishermen on the forums!
  2. I've done so with live nightcrawlers. Success? You betcha! But they attract a LOT of little fellers.
  3. Welcome aboard, Patrick.
  4. Pretty much the same for me. Soft plastics are just more productive for me, and I'm out there for fun and enjoyment, not tournaments, so I tend to stay with what works for me... I will fish other lures though.
  5. Agreed. Love my 6'6" ML Carbonlite. I have the black, no problem getting the white, tho.
  6. I love my Chronarch 50e's. Phenomenal reels. I'm sure you'll be thrilled with the Curado I.
  7. I, too, have BPS fluoro (white box) and do use it from time to time. But I mainly use Yo-Zuri Hybrid in green for my leaders. One reason is because I have bought so much of it (for cheap) in 600 yard spools. That lasts a LONG time when used as a leader!! So I agree that it is a great all-around line. I have no problem using it for bottom contact, wacky, TX, Mojo, Jika, cranks, spinnerbaits, etc.
  8. Congrats, Dwight!
  9. Well, he's still alive! Definitely one of my faves, as well.
  10. Fascinating report!
  11. Same here. I have a few Yamamoto "white" slim senkos, otherwise, I rarely fish white soft plastics. I've had great success with Zoom watermelon gold lizards - wacky rigged, no weight, when bed fishing, white will be added to my arsenal this year, methinks.
  12. Hey Zach, welcome aboard!
  13. LOL!! There's a great joke in there somewhere.
  14. Darren. replied to Penguino's topic in Fishing Tackle
There are a lot of excellent hooks out there for wacky rigging. I have personally settled on either the Gammy Wide Gap Finesse 1/0 or Gammy Split/drop shot hooks from 1-2/0.
  15. Yo-Zuri Hybrid in whatever lb test. Cheap, on sale at TW as stated above, also via eBay.
  16. Probably the key here: "proficient with it" I do not consider myself proficient with mine. I imagine if I did feel that way, I wouldn't leave home without it.
  17. It really depends. I have a Garmin setup for my kayak, but I honestly don't take it out much now. Probably because, like you, I've been successful without it -- in the reservoirs I fish. There are times I want to try a "new" area out in the same reservoir and I'll find it useful for bottom contour, etc.
  18. I'll be one to tell you that you do NOT need a ton of baits. I take a couple 3600 size boxes of soft plastic worms both senko style and thinner worms like the Zoom Trick and Finesse worms. Then I'll have at least one box with a few jigs, some drop shot stuff, etc. I'm primarily a soft-plastics fisherman and have plenty of success (by my reckoning) doing things this way. Where you get to have a "ton" is when you try a new bait here and there and get another color, etc., to try out. Over time they add up and can become a "ton". But you don't need a lot to catch bass.
  19. Good gravy! Crazy!
  20. So sorry to hear. Prayers offered.
  21. Wow, that's fantastic!!
  22. You're on the right forum! Lots of great advice from the gang. And welcome aboard!
  23. Welcome aboard!
  24. Hi and welcome aboard!
  25. Good advice all around, so I'll just say welcome to the forums!
