St. Croix Avid
I agree it is bulky, but for me I went from the previous-gen Compre which is my all around favorite handle of any rod. I did sand mine Avid down, found other forums where people did the same thing. But if I had it to do all over again, I'd pick a different brand with a handle setup more to my (your) liking.

Good deal on the Trick Worms! Other stuff, I suppose, though I don't fish with 'em.

Harwood Mill Reservoir: Big Side Vs Little Side
Great! I've caught some nice bass on the big side. My PB came on the small side, 7 1/2 pounder. But I know there are bigger ones there. 11 pounders have been caught on both sides. Last year a guy caught a 10 lb bass right from the dock on the big side. A buddy and I were fishing near the docks on the big side one evening when a boat with 3 dudes came up to use asking if we had a scale. I offered them my digi scale and he pulled a bass out of his livewell that weighed 8.10. A beauty he caught down along the far end near the brick water processing plant. Good luck!

Harwood Mill Reservoir: Big Side Vs Little Side
There's more room for the bass to roam on the big side Have a go at this PDF from the VADGIF about the 2012 Harwood's Mill fishery: http://www.dgif.virginia.gov/fishing/waterbodies/reports/2012%20Harwoods%20Reservoir%20Bio%20Rpt.pdf Concentrate on points and coves. If you can get to the long cove that's closest to the airport along the right side, hit the numerous laydowns there. The grass has been really high there lately, probably because they're keeping the water level low to keep it from disrupting bridge construction down by the dam on rte 17. Also around the island, the small channel is pretty interesting , deep and grassy. Then down under the overhead wires that cross the lake. There's supposed to be an old roadbed there. I've had some success along the shoreline, others I know have had success throwing drop shots and cranks there.

Snell Knots
Absolutely. Great knot. I use it on every worm hook (TX, Mojo rigging). Also use it on wacky style hooks that are not weedless. Although I did figure a way to snell weedless hooks, it isn't the best scenario.

How Often Do You Re-Tie Your Leader?
Good question. For me, I feel my line from the knot to the hook if I've 1) Brought the line through a snag, or rough area 2) Caught a fish (esp if combined with #1) If I feel any rough part on the line, i pinch it as I slide my fingers down to the hook and make sure it isn't debris. If it is NOT debris, I'll either cut back to that point, or retie the leader. I like to tie on a new leader each time I go fishing, but I don't. Maybe 50% of the time I'll do that.

What's The Best Footwear For Fishing In Your Boat All Day?
Define cold I have lace-up crocks, with a larger croc bottom half that wraps up around the foot to the leather upper. I use these for cold weather kayak fishing. Worn with socks, they're excellent.

What's The Best Footwear For Fishing In Your Boat All Day?
I like fishing from crocs, Shimano-brand crocs, flip flop crocs, and five-finger (toe) shoes. I stand in the pontoons of my kayak, so there's a little bit of an odd (not flat) surface there. The toe shoes probably handle it the best, plus they're super comfy.

One Presentation
I've done it, and it sure worked. As for something like covering the whole column, I used weightless and weighted hooks for the same technique. As for hard baits, not taken just that bait and fished it. Soft plastics only so far.
