  1. My name is Darren, and I like Bill Dance, too. Edit: I thought this was a 12-step post... LOL. No really. I will watch most of the fishing shows on NBC Sports. Bill is a nice guy, a fine teacher. Now Charlie Moore? I have no idea why that show is on TV.
  2. I'll take a lady like that here in VA. Nice fish!!
  3. Appreciate your transparency! Not everyone responds to PMs, so nice to read you're concerned with such things!
  4. Payin' close attention to this thread...!
  5. I've used GYCB craws, and one bag of BPS craws. Had most success on the GYCB craws.
  6. By bait, are you referring to live bait (nightcrawlers, minnows)? Otherwise, when you get to your shore-bound location, scan for any visible structure (fallen trees, etc.). I'd start there. If you're at a dock, start at the dock pylons.
  7. Dude, can you check it out in person? Edit: at 3.5 hours, can you ask her to hold it till you can check? Take a day off from work, a vacation day, a sick day, whatever, and check it out.... Sometimes you hear of $80K Mercedes being dumped for $5k in divorce cases. If you're first in line, check it out and if legit, jump. But I don't want to see a fellow bassresourcer get jipped. I'm sure there are other words of wisdom from other guys on the forum. I've just heard of too many divorce cases in which pricey items are sold at beyond bargain prices due to wife getting back at hubby. If that's the case, then you win. If not, then you've been had. Impossible for any of us to know for sure unless you can get an address, and time for a visit.
  8. As I understand it, and I've Google'd it, FC leader is a much stiffer material than what you'd buy on a spool (like Red Label) at your local fishing store. FC leader is too unwieldy and unmanageable to use as your mainline, hence being sold as "leader" material only.
  9. I'll go simple: GYCB Senkos. Fish 'em wacky, TX, weighted wacky, split shot, and then some!!
  10. Good gravy, man! 17+, that's Fish Chris territory!!
  11. Nice catch!
  12. It'll fish! Better than anything I could do!
  13. BPS, Dick's, Tackle Warehouse, Hi's Tacklebox Shop, others.
  14. A happy one, Dwight!
  15. Ok, yes you can use a swivel, but I tend to shy from swivels that will come thru my rod's eyes. Rather not damage, or potentially damage eyelets. As well, it *may* help with some line twist, but you'll still have it. Have you tried KVD Line conditioner? You'd spray it on your line (the spool) the night before and let it soak in overnight. Will certainly help with line management, but won't relieve twisting issues entirely.
  16. All I can say is Buffalo got Kevin Kolb! Twas QB day in the NFL today. I think Radiers and Bills each got better, each relieved requirement to draft a QB in the top 10. Well, maybe.
  17. Welcome to the forums, Kyle. Sounds like a good outing!
  18. I made mine, but I believe Dick's Sporting Goods carries a hoist system in store. At least one near me does.
  19. Congrats! May she bring you a lot of successful fishing outings.
  20. Matt, you can go with both. I do. Probably my preference is to use spinning gear. The issue with line twist is easily solved by moving to braid for your mainline and using a leader (or not). Braid doesn't have line management issues like mono, copoly, or fluoro. So you can go with 10-15lb braid, and use a leader anywhere from 6 - 15 pounds (give or take). TIe on your wacky style hook with a snell knot, or a palomar, and go to town. I do the same with my baitcaster. I use braid main, plus a leader.
  21. Too young, too soon. R.I.P. Doug.
  22. Welcome to the forums!
  23. Way to go Shin! He's a guy who'se technique I follow!
  24. Would like to have gone out, but no. Was overcast, rain, then overcast. Probably a good day to hit the reservoirs! C'est la vie.
  25. Creative! I like it!
