  1. Quite popular in Japan as I understand and have read. And since it is braid-ready, you are good to go to simply tie it off with an arbor knot. My 1000 size Stradics are not shallow, but not deep either, and I've got braid on the entire way.

    Welcome aboard!
  3. Welcome aboard, Nick! Lots of incredibly helpful articles here, have you devoured them yet? I found a ton of help with techniques and so forth over the year. Very helpful.
  4. With regard to thunder/lightning, remember River Monsters?
  5. Never really had a problem with floroclear. Actually like the stuff, but use Yo Zuri Hybrid more because I have a lot more of it.... PLFC is a bit slicker, so the knot needs to be solid.
  6. Well, when I had sweet success fishing the spawn (PB 7.5), I didn't use anything really out of the ordinary (for me). PB was caught on a wacky rigged 5" senko, earthy color (might have been watermelon). I caught numerous 5 and 6 pounders over the years during spawn on senkos and knock-offs. No real success with bubblegum, personally. But watermelon magic was always "magic", coppertreuse is a great color, green pumpkin magic, junebug, all great colors. As well as BPS's Hot Pepper Frog. Also, consider using a Zoom (or other) lizard wacky, or TX, or drop shot. Lizards are an enemy and when I tried it years back when they didn't chase anything, it garnered some hefty strikes and catches .
  7. Love me some spinning gear. Like BC for some, but I paired down casting in favor of spinning a while ago.
  8. Nice catch! Some will be on the beds now, at least down here, I believe. Was planning on going this week, now I'm not sure I can get out :( ... that and rain forecast.
  9. Welcome aboard!
  10. Welcome aboard! I've been there once. We stayed in a cabin at the state park. The big dock there has a lot of bass hanging out at the pylons, the water was very clear, and we caught several on wacky rigs suspended (some) under a bobber. Also kayaked across from there to several coves that were plentiful with bass, carp, etc. There's a thread here of that, and threads of others fishing there.

Fortunately for us, T-Mobile does it for "free". Robocalls are an extreme nuisance.
  13. Welcome aboard!
  14. Welcome aboard, Wes!
  15. Welcome aboard, Ray! Good luck and catch a bunch!
  16. Welcome aboard! You'll find help aplenty here. I'm a kayaker, so not really of much help . Good luck!

    Welcome aboard!
  18. Thanks. I haven't pulled the trigger for that reason - big/thick hook. Will probably pass in future.
  19. Nice looking Ned heads. Totally agree re: wire holder for Elaztech baits. Haven't tried the new, heavier jig from Z-man that has the collar locks.
  20. Down on the Peninsula there are buds on some of our DWs.
  21. Welcome aboard!
  22. Wow, she's got a loaded belly! Congrats!!
