  1. Ditto. Don't know why I have some in my tackle box still.
  2. Medium fast should be OK. I prefer ML, but also use MF sometimes. Everything else seems fine, too. I use all Z-man products for Nedding. I have experienced what you're experiencing. Some days that's just what happens. I've gotten fish to the side of the yak and can see the TRD is being held on to, but not the hook. Short strikes, etc. I've also had days when bluegill inhale the ned rig and get hooked nicely. Are you using the larger size Ned jigs (bigger hooks?). The smaller ones tend to hook better in my experience. And are you using weedless models?
  3. Welcome aboard! Oftentimes when the going is slow ya gotta slow down some more. Assuming you're on a boat, or are you shore-bound? Would definitely friendly up to some of the locals and get some advice on what works and what doesn't. Wish I could help more. Good luck!
  4. Welcome aboard!
  5. Welcome aboard, Robert! With what you're currently trying (Ned, etc.) have you tried varying your retrieves? Such as with Ned, slowing down, varying how you bring it back like reel, lift rod, stop reeling, let rod tip down, then repeat...and so forth? Other good advice above. Keep on keepin on. You'll get 'em.
  6. Welcome aboard, Patrick! There's a long thread of Pelican Bass Raider boats which may be of help to you.
  7. That'll probably work fine. Just a variation of the Albright. I prefer the other two, and now I really like Shin's knot.
  8. Welcome aboard! Lots of Floridians here. They'll chime in soon.
  9. Every reason TO be proud. Brag away! My eldest graduated college with a bunch of acknowledgments, 2nd son finished Freshman college year, sons 3 and 4 in high school. Time does indeed fly by.... Seems like just yesterday we were changing diapers.
  10. Welcome aboard!
  11. Welcome aboard, Jason!
  12. Welcome aboard, Rafael! I used to fish out of a canoe, an old Grumman, 16 footer, but changed over to a kayak many years back. What I use is actually a hybrid kayak and canoe made by Native Watercraft, called the Ultimate. They continue to make these and they also come in a tandem model which handles two adults, gear, possibly a child. That said, gonna be pricey. I'd look, if you haven't already, at Dick's Sporting Goods as they have frequent sales on canoes. You'll get plenty more suggestions from folks, stay tuned
  13. Sweet catch!
  14. Welcome back, Nolan!
  15. That's awful news. Just awful. I've a healthy fear of big water that is shared by motor boats. In fact, gonna hit Lake Gaston this summer and will do as I did before, hug the shorelines and hit areas w/o a lot of boat traffic. Normally, it's electric-only lakes, smaller waters, or shore hugging. I grieve for his wife and family.
  16. Welcome back!
  17. Welcome aboard @Timbo437!
  18. Looks really nice. Would love to get my hands on one to test it out. Dude was super excited, LOL.
  19. Welcome aboard! My question, as well, is if your 2nd pic is a Wels catfish?
  20. Welcome aboard, Frankie! Lots of Floridians here. They'll chime in soon. Good luck!
  21. Welcome aboard, Kermit!
  22. Welcome aboard!
