Rod&reel Quiver
I once saw a guy carrying 8 combos with him on a piece of plywood. He cut it with a carry handle at the top, and mounted a set of Berkley horizontal rod holders to each side. Carried it around almost like a briefcase.

Favorite Ultralight Baits And Rigs
I like the small Strike King crankbaits. They even make suspending ones. But I also like to use my ultralight to fish 3" and 4" worms wacky style. I've caught several nice bass (between 3 and 6 pounds) that way. Now THAT can be some fun!!!

Ultralight Spinning Reel Recommendation
Another reel to consider is the Mitchell Avocet Gold II 500 size. NOT the silver. It runs about $35 at BPS. Pretty smooth, and seems sturdy. I landed a 6lb LM on one last year no problem. Probably not up to the President standards, but if you're looking to stay under $40....

Where To Buy St. Croix Elite
Yep, what he said. I think even ebay and amazon charge the same as St Croix.

Bait For An Ultralight?

Spinning Rod Upgrade
You dont need a receipt. I have even traded in rods I bought used. Check the St Croix website or call them. Its actually very easy to use their upgrade program.

Inexpensive But Effective Deep Crankbaits?
Thanks for the input, everybody! I just placed an order for some Strike King 6XDs and some Fat Free Shads. Now to run to Wally World and the local tackle shops to look for those DD22s!

Inexpensive But Effective Deep Crankbaits?
I'm looking for some relatively cheap (maybe $5-10) but effective deep crankbaits. I'm fishing a tournament next weekend in a lake much deeper than I typically fish in. My usual ponds are MAYBE 8-9 feet deep (which is why I don't want to spend a fortune on crankbaits that I can't normally use), but this lake has spots down to 26-30 feet deep. I don't plan on getting THAT deep, but would like to be able to get down below 10'. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!! Dave

Will An Mbr844C Imx Work As A Frog Rod?
I've been looking at getting a frog rod lately, but am a bit short on extra cash right now. I've tried to find one via trade with no luck so far. So, I have a Loomis MBR844C IMX that I rarely use. Would it be OK for a frog rod? Thanks, Dave

Any Good Bank Fishing In Crossville Tn Area?
My wife and I will be staying at Fairfield Glade in a couple weeks, and I'm planning on taking some rods with me. The office told me that I can rent a boat on three of the lakes there. Does anybody have any tips they can give me on fishing the lakes there? Thanks, Dave

Spiderwire XXX Mono
I use that line all the time and love it. Sometimes when I tie a palomar and don't lubricate it, I get the same look that you ended up with, but have never had a problem with it.

Need advice on buying used reels online
I also have to suggest the flea market here. It really opens up other possibilities as well. I recently bought a Curado 201E7 that looks and works like it has never been used, spooled with 20lb power pro, for $100 shipped. You can get a lot more reel for your money there.

St. Croix Premier
At that price, you could trade it in to St Croix and have an Avid for about $100 total cost. But even if you keep it, you got a great deal on that rod.

Good combo for kids?
The Pflueger Lady Trion is also pink, or at least accented with plenty of pink.

Two Piece Rods vs. One Piece Rods
I can't speak to the Avid 2-pc, but based on my 2-pc Premier compared to my 1-pc Premier, I wouldn't expect there to be much difference at all. I prefer 1-pc rods, but keep a couple 2-pc rods in the trunk of the second car.

What are good rod actions for topwater and for jerkbaits?
I realize these are probably two different rods. Not asking about specific brands, but rather actions. MHF, MLXF, MHM? What action works best for each application? Thanks, Dave

Would it be worthwhile to purchase this broken G Loomis broken rod?
I'm away from home on a business trip and visited a local tackle shop. They have a brand new BCR804 GLX with 4-5 inches broken off the tip. They are asking $175 for it. Since I flew here, I would have to buy a tube to either check it, or mail it home in. Would it be worthwhile to buy it for that price and send it in to be replaced? And what if I could get it even cheaper? Thanks, Dave

Looking for info on bass fishing in the Vail valley
My brother-in-law has a condo in Minturn, CO. We were talking about a possible fishing trip out there this next summer. But he doesn't know much about bass fishing in the area. Can somebody familiar with the area give us some tips on where to fish and what to use? Thanks in advance, Dave

How does the President compare to the Revo STX and Curado E7?
I found the President on ebay. That one is now gone now, but look for others. I honestly don't know if it was a 2010 or not, and don't know how to tell.

How does the President compare to the Revo STX and Curado E7?
Thanks for all the inputs, eveybody! I was getting ready to pull the trigger on the President based on your thoughts when the wife gave the go-ahead to buy a Curado 51E. The President will wait another day.

How does the President compare to the Revo STX and Curado E7?
Im in the market for a new reel. I have an STX and an E7 and like both. But I can get a new President for about $68. Does it compare well enough to jump at the savings? Thanks, Dave

Having a custom rod built. Micro guides or regular?
I'm looking to have a custom casting rod built. Thinking 7', MH, fast action. I can get titanium guides, regular guides, etc. Looking for opinions on micro guides. For you guys that have used them, would you recommend them? If not what WOULD you recommend? Thanks, Dave
